Breed: Akita
WELSH KENNEL CLUB 17 AUG 25 AKITA Unfortunately the quality and quantity in today’s entry was poor, not that i enjoy doing it but felt i had to withhold the RBCC due to the fact of poor movement in some or lack of breed type and quality in others. This is a lovely breed and when quality sound dogs are presented to me they can be very impressive and are a pleasure to judge and evaluate.. For a large breed that is relatively slow to mature and be the finished picture it is sad that my BOB was a puppy. He is a very nice example of the breed and for sure will continue to improve and no doubt will have a good career. I had no hesitation awarding him the top spot, but it is a sad reflection on the breed that i need to go down to the youngest entry to find the best. PD 1(0) 1. Bevis/Corr/Venezia’s Stylesign Gunshot at Stecal (imp). Stood alone, super youngster, very balanced, masculine head not overdone, lovely small dark almond eyes, balanced head proportions, ears are erect, excellent straight forelegs with good bone, compact feet, already has some forechest, nice depth to his chest, ribs of good length, firm top-line with a good high set tail, strong rear quarters with short hocks, super condition, in profile holds his shape with a good stride, very typy, nicely balanced, DCC, BP & BOB. OD 2(1) 1. Simpson’s Rominjay King Of My Heart. Broad skull, small thick ears, moderate strength in muzzle, straight forelegs and compact feet, prefer more fill in front and more depth to his chest, moderate neck, good proportions of body and leg, high set tail, moderate rear angulation, on the move he holds his shape in profile just a little close in the rear and wide in front, has good parts to him, a little out of coat, RDCC. JB 1(0) 1. Humphries/Iason’s Whitewreath Red Alert with Minioso. Feminine frame to her, neat thick ears carried in line with neck, moderate width in skull but a little narrow in muzzle, straight forelegs, still needs to drop and fill in chest, moderate neck, firm top-line with high set tail, nice width to rear quarters, at the minute she is short on leg so she needs to come up for the finished picture, good coat and condition, high set tail carried well, steady mover in profile, needs time. LB 5(0) Four bitches, all of varying type. 1. Iason’s Whitewreath Open Fire. Pleasing head, has some width to her skull, sufficient strength in muzzle, ears could be smaller, straight forelegs, good bone, prefer more fill in front and she is a little wide in front on the move, moderate length of rib, she is a little soft in her top-line, high set tail, has good strength to her rear quarters with low set hocks, nice coat and condition, positive mover but she loses her shape and top-line on the move, reserve best female. 2. Hutton/Walker’s Whitewreath Trigger Finger. Taller stationed bitch than 1, good bone, longer in foreface than ideal and ears could be small, nice small eyes, good bone and feet, a little steep in shoulder, preferred body/leg proportions on 1 but she has firm top-line, high set tail, low set hocks, not as fluid as 1 on the move, narrow in the rear like 1 in good coat. 3. Hocking’s Karijini’s Ice And A Slice. OB 3(1) Two contrasting bitches. 1. Bevis/Corr’s Stecal’s Love Resurrection. Lovely straight forelegs to her, balanced feminine headpiece with broad skull, ears are well set, lovely small dark eye, strong neck, well made shoulder, has some depth to her chest, big ribs on her, moderate top-line, high set tail, strong rear and hocks, i liked her neck and blackline, very free in profile with a powerful stride at both ends, in good condition, could have a fraction more leg for ideal, BCC. 2. Simpson’s Snowbeach’s She’s All That To Romanjay ShCEx. Stronger bitch than 1, broad skull, could have a little more strength in foreface, straight forelegs but is wide in front, needs more depth of chest, little bit long cast for ideal and soft in top-line, tail is high set, would prefer more rear angulation to her, not as fluid as 1 on the move.
