Windsor Dog Show Society

Breed: Gundog group

Really huge congratulations must go to the officers and committee of Windsor dog show for putting on an excellent show. Super layout, spacious rings and very relaxed atmosphere all around, not to mention the glorious weather with the most iconic of backgrounds. It is always nice to be able to judge the full set of gundog breeds at an All breed show, especially some of the minority and rarer breeds. The quality for type was fair but sadly construction and movement was not across the board today. That said i was happy with my shortlist which comprised of the GSP,Italian Spinone,Lagotto, FCR, Cocker. My top 4, Gp 4, the ESS Corbetts’ Sh Ch Trimere Time Flies, a very balanced typey bitch, a feminine head with correct slightly rounded skull, kind expression, nicely made front with straight forelegs and super feet, holds her topline with lovely croup, tailset and carriage. Liked her front low swinging front action on the move, an honest unexaggerated bitch. Gp 3 was a very handsome eye-catching Bracco, Badias’ Fr Ch Silvio Du Clos Des Petites Vignes (Imp Fra), sculpted head with the desired divergent head planes, strong neck, has some fill in front with good bone, ribs extend well back with an excellent topline. Where he comes alive is on the move with his powerful elastic gait, he has a great stride in profile while still holding his shape. Lots to like and in tip top condition. Gp 2, Laytons’ Sh Ch Layways Cinnamon Girl, the Hungarian Vizlsa bitch, elegant medium sized girl, she has a feminine clean head, has some width to her skull, shorter muzzle, dark oval eyes, very good neck with some fill in front and her legs nicely under her framework, slightly rounded croup with nice tailset, moderate, balanced rear quarters, put on a lovely elegant performance on the move, super coat, colour and condition. Gp1 the Curly Coated Retriever Thygesens’ Nor/Dk/Se Sh Ch Skaringen's First Impressionand for me was a standout today the minute she came around the ring at the start. Hands on her she is so nice to feel, a balanced wedge shaped head with level head plains, the darkest of eyes, she has the cleanest of neck and back lines, mainly due to her excellent front assembly married with her strong rear quarters, slightly longer body with good leg length, lovely straight forelegs, good forechest, her thick tight curls to her coat are spot on. i loved watching her move, effortless with good foot fall really covering the ground and has no hesitation awarding her the top spot, nice to hear she was BOB at Crufts this year and today was her 2nd CC, im sure if handler and dog return to these shores she will easily title. She fully deserved her RBIS spot on Sunday too under Zena Thorn Andrews.
