I would like to thank the Southern Golden Retriever
Society for inviting me to judge Bitches at their
Championship Show.
All the bitches shown were in very good clean
condition and I was very pleased with my entry.
Thank you to the Officers and Committee for all their
hard work and warm welcome and the very nice
lunch. It is a very nice venue and there was a really
great atmosphere.
Many thanks to my stewards for looking after me in
the ring it was extremely well organised.
BABY PUPPY BITCH (2/2) 0 Absent
1st Maynard Mr R C & Mrs L J E Weisford Born Of The Sea To
Chinnordale.
This baby puppy at nearly 6 months old has a mid-gold coat.
She was carrying just the right amount of weight. This little
lady was well balanced overall with a dark eye, good
pigmentation, good length of neck, straight front with
correct bone for age with the very best of feet. Level top
line with a correct tail set movement was straight front and
rear and with the agreement of my co-judge was awarded
BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW.
2nd Poile & Blackboro Miss V & Mr P Cherrimar Electra
At just over 4 months she was a very happy girl with a lot of
growing to do and at this age was at a disadvantage to 1 but
nevertheless a promising little girl. She had a straight front
tight elbows and round cat like feet. She had a good turn of
stifle and her top-line was level movement was very good
for one so young.
SPECIAL VETERAN BITCH (3/2) 1 Absent
1st Harding & Start Mrs L J & Miss R Eveninghill Moment To
Shine.
At 11 years young this mid-gold lady was looking so good a
lovely head and soft expression with a dark eye. Balanced
shape overall with a good reach of neck. Strong pasterns
both front and rear, straight forelegs, deep through the
heart with well sprung ribs, level top line, well bent stifles
and well-muscled rear quarters. Good strong, straight hocks,
she moved with purpose and drive.

Chinnordale
Another lady at 11 years young but again you could not tell,
mid gold in colour. A lovely expressive, feminine head with a
dark eye, an excellent front with a good lay back of
shoulder. Straight forelegs, well sprung ribs and a level top
line. Correct tail set and turn of stifle. A close decision to
one.
VETERAN BITCH (12/9) 3 Absent
1st Smith Mr T B & Mrs L G SH CH Goldmarker Luminara
One I have admired for a long time. When this girl entered
the ring she stood out with her dark gold coat and I was not
disappointed when I went over her. She stood four square
and proud at one with her handler. Well-balanced head with
a kind gentle biddable expression and dark eye. She had a
correct straight front with tight elbows and round tight cat
like feet, a good muscular length of neck into well laid-back
shoulders long in blade, and a corresponding return of
upper arm placing the front legs well under her body. A
level top line and correct tail set, well-muscled rear quarters
with a good second thigh, straight hocks well let down.
Correct front and rear angulation set off the balanced
profile and when moved she did so with ease powering
from the rear keeping her super symmetrical balance and
level tail carriage Was pleased to award this lovely girl
THE BITCH CC & BEST VETERAN BITCH and on referee’s
decision RESERVE BEST IN SHOW, SHE WAS THEN AWARDED
BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
2nd Crookes & Jenkinson Mrs D & Mrs R J SH CH Quakerhall
Pandora’s Bounty JW Mid gold girl in good coat. Balanced all
through with a lovely profile shape, a nice dark eye. Straight
front, nice feet, Deep through the heart with a well sprung
ribcage and short muscular loin, strong hindquarters, which
were well muscled, and the second thigh was of good width,
correct turn of stifle. Hocks well let down and straight.

MINOR PUPPY BITCH (10/8) 2 Absent

This girl was presented so well. She has a pale gold coat nice
feminine head with a kind expression. Clean, muscular
reach of neck into well laid-back shoulders straight front
with an equal length of upper arm good forehand
construction, deep through the heart, short coupled. Level
topline and correct tail set. Strong pasterns both front and
rear, well bent stifles with straight hocks her movement was
straight and true from front and behind. This young lady
must surely have a very bright future. I was pleased to
award her BEST BITCH PUPPY THEN THRILLED WHEN WITH
AGREEMENT WITH MY CO-JUDGE SHE WAS AWARDED BEST
PUPPY IN SHOW
2nd Grindy,Taylor & Tenn Mrs V, Miss C A & Mr M D
Strettonhills Happy Hour. Another very nice pale gold young
lady with a super kind gentle feminine head. Excellent
balanced throughout when stood correctly. This girl had a
nice dark eye, correct lay-back of shoulder and
corresponding return of upper arm. Straight front and tight
feet, a good reach of neck, with a level top line and correct
tail set a good turn of stifle with hocks well let down. It
would have been nice to see her move a little quicker to see
the drive from the rear.

good size. She had a kind, gentle expression with a dark eye
and dark pigment A balanced girl she stood tall. She had a
straight front with tight elbows and nice feet. Strong clean
neck into well laid shoulders and corresponding return of
upper arm a level top line and correct tail set. Well-muscled
rear quarters with a good second thigh and straight hocks,
Moved with drive.
2nd Healey MS M J Marsabit Celtic Harp. Pale to mid gold in
colour pretty feminine head with a good reach of neck,
straight front with tight elbows deep in chest with a good
spring of rib, level top-line, straight hocks.

YEARLING BITCH (3/2) 1 Absent

Sea. Mid gold this lovely lady stood proud for her handler
she has the sweetest of heads with a kind gentle expression
the darkest of noses and lovely dark eye. She had a straight
front with nice feet, well laid-back shoulders, deep through
the heart and a good spring of rib, a level top line. Correct
tail set, well bent stifles and strong straight hocks, she
moved straight front and rear with drive.
2nd Falconer Mrs A E Cheek To Cheek Unbridled Dreams For
Siatham (IMP FRA) JW. Pale gold in colour she is a very
nicely constructed girl overall. A lovely expressive, feminine
head with a dark eye. An excellent front with good lay back
of shoulder. Straight forelegs well sprung ribs. Correct tail
set and a nice turn of stifle lost out to 1 on movement.
MAIDEN BITCH (7/5) 2 Absent
1st Porter Mrs M A & Miss S Shearstone Hasta La Vista. A
happy girl she is of mid gold in colour with dark expressive
eyes. Very balanced when stood in profile. Good fore-chest
and lay-back of shoulder, good bone and feet. Well sprung
ribs, good top-line and well bent stifle and strong
hindquarters. Covered the ground well.
2nd Smith Mr T B & Mrs L G Goldmarker Luminora. This
pretty girl was a little darker in gold but also had a very
pleasing head with a kind expression. Straight front and
tight feet, well sprung ribs, short coupled with strong
hindquarters, level top line a good turn of stifle. Moved
well.

mid gold coat this lovely girl was so happy free standing a
nice dark eye and nose, straight front, excellent reach of
neck into well laid-back shoulders straight front with an
equal length of upper arm, deep through the heart, short
coupled. Level top line. Strong pasterns both front and rear,
well bent stifles, when settled moved straight and true from
front and behind.

gold this lovely girl had a sweet head with lovely expression
a dark eye. Very balanced when stood in profile or moving.
Straight front and tight feet, a good reach of neck, well
placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm,
well sprung ribs, short coupled with strong hindquarters,
level top line a good turn of stifle, strong straight hocks.
Moved well.

This girl was a little lighter in gold than one. Sweet
expression. She had a dark eye. Clean muscular good reach
of neck a straight front with nice feet deep in chest with a
good spring of rib, level top-line. She had a good turn of
stifle and correct tail-set.

POST GRADUATE BITCH (8/7) 1 Absent
1st Leeming Mrs M Kadaka Kalypso At Iscadu JW My first
thought as this feminine mid gold girl entered the ring was
how free from any exaggeration and symmetrical this girl
looked and again was not disappointed when I went over
her. A lovely full coat and carrying just the right amount of
weight she has an expressive head well chiselled with a kind
dark eye and well-set ears. Strong clean neck into well laid
shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Straight
forelegs, deep through the chest and a good spring of rib,
level top line, she was short coupled. Hindquarters powerful
with good width of second thigh, well bent stifles. Strong
straight hocks well let down with good forward reach at the
front and excellent drive from behind she moved straight
and true front and rear this was a very close decision to my
CC winner was pleased to award her the Res CC

Liked this pale gold young lady. Short coupled she has a
balanced outline. A feminine head with a pretty expression.
Nice straight well boned forelegs onto tight feet. good
ribbing and depth. Strong rear showing width to the thigh.
Lovely profile movement. Close second to the winner.

lady with the kindest of heads and beautiful dark eye she
caught my eye in this class from entering the ring she has a
balanced outline with a table top top-line and correct tail
set. Strong clean neck into well laid-back shoulders long in
blade, and a corresponding return of upper arm placing her
front legs well under her body , straight front with tight
elbows and nice feet, deep through the chest and a good
spring of rib. Correct rear angulation with strong straight
hocks Excellent drive from behind she moved straight and
true front and rear. Considered for top honours.

Another pale gold lady again this girl was very pleasing with
her balanced outline a lovely sweet head with the kindest of
expressions a good reach of neck, well placed shoulders well
sprung ribs, short coupled with strong hindquarters, moved
well.

everything in the right place a nice head with a lovely gentle

Wax Lyrical (ATC ITA) A mid gold girl. Extremely balanced all
through with a lovely profile shape, a nice dark eye. Straight
front, nice feet, shoulders laid back upper arm of equal
length placing front legs well under. Deep through the heart
with a well sprung ribcage and short muscular loin, strong
hindquarters, which were well muscled, and the second
thigh was of good width, correct turn of stifle. All this
allowed her to be animated and powerful moving carrying
her tail level. Hocks well let down and straight. I liked this
girl a lot unfortunately not carrying the best of coats for top
honours today.

expressions she had a good reach of neck and well laid back

moved she kept her super symmetrical balance and level tail
carriage a close decision to the winner.
