Breed: Bedlington Terrier

South Wales Kennel Association  General Championship show

Thursday 9th October 2025

Thank You for a wonderful Championship Show

I have only ever exhibited at Builth before, but I genuinely enjoyed the setup, location, and the convenience of being able to walk into town.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at your championship show—this being my first time judging at this level.

My appreciation also goes to my stewards for their time and excellent assistance throughout the days.

It was a real pleasure to judge Manchester Terrier, Parson Russell Terrier, Bedlington Terrier, and Smooth Collies.

Thank you all for your entries and for the good nature shown in accepting my decisions on the day. From the feedback received, you all found it as enjoyable as I did judging your wonderful dogs.

Bedlington Terrier

All feet in good condition and good dentition

Class 365 Junior Dog (2 entries / 0 absent)

1st Scott, Mrs E & Mr W, Mickleview Harvest Moon

Just a week before his birthday a good up to size dog, well balanced and in proportion, good head set with nice bright eyes, moderately sized ears, good shape of forequarters, movement typical of the breed and went well around the ring giving him the edge today

Awarded RD

2nd Fletcher, Mrs J & Mrs C, Sharnor Sultan of Spica

Slightly older dog of 16 months old, good shaped head with dark eyes, coat in good condition, and nice arch over lion, another with the distinctive mincing movement around the ring, just preferred the 1st movement but can see these swapping places regularly

Class 366 Post Graduate Dog (0 entry)

Class 367 Open Dog (5 entries / 1 absent)

1st Offer, Mrs A, Woolytop The Phezantplukka JW

At just 19 months old there is a lot to like about this dog, up to size but nicely balanced and in proportion, masculine dog and carries this look throughout, head set good leading to the correct forequarters, coat in great condition, muscular body with a nice defined tuck of loin. Moved with purpose in the ring with the typical mincing showing well. Was lovely to see him do well in a strong terrier group later.

Awarded BD & BoB

2nd Lowe, Mrs J & Mr R, Bisbee Bulldozer with Tessarion

A maturing dog of just over 2.5 years old, nice pear shaped head, correct eyes and nice sized ears giving a Bedlington expression. Has correct and moderate fore and hind quarter angulation, held top line well on the move around the ring

3rd Offer, Mrs A, Ch Woolytop The Viking

Res Offer, Mrs A, Ch Woolytop The One and Only JW ShCm VW

Class 368 Junior Bitch (2 entries / 0 absent)

1st Lowe, Mrs J & Mr R, Mickleview After Midnight by Tessarion

So, the sisters turn in the ring to my junior dog. Looking to their birthdays next week. Good breed type, nice pear shaped head, dark triangular looking eyes, moderate ears. Good condition all round. Maturing nicely and chest gaining depth, tuck in loin, moved well around the ring today just giving her the edge

Awarded RB & BPiB

2nd Fletcher, Mrs J & Mrs C, Mickleview Layla

The sister to my 1st place puppy dog and bitch, all remarkably similar and with the same attributes as her sister. Maturing well and can see there will be a family battle ahead with these three, all good and will swap places regularly, good luck to the judge that has all three in the same class

Class 369 Junior Bitch (1 entry / 0 absent)

1st Offer, Mrs A, Woolytop Here I Am

A pleasing 18 month old bitch, light sandy colour, with nice headset. Stood alone today but showing quality feminine development since I last judged her. Could have moved a little better around the ring today but is coming along nicely

Class 370 Open (3 entries / 0 absent)

1st Scott, Mrs E & Mr W, Ch Janmark Just Do It

A 5.5 year old bitch, very feminine profile, pretty pear shaped headset, set with dark eyes and well shaped ears. Good muscular body with linty coat, stood and moved well around the ring with typical Bedlington mincing. Push hard for BoB I just preferred the dog today

Awarded BB

A maturing bitch just over 5 years old, a well put together Bedlington package, pleasing feminine headset, straight correct forequarters, good balance and in size, moved around the ring well.
