South Wales Kennel Association  General Championship show

Thursday 9th October 2025

Thank You for a wonderful Championship Show

I have only ever exhibited at Builth before, but I genuinely enjoyed the setup, location, and the convenience of being able to walk into town.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at your championship show—this being my first time judging at this level.

My appreciation also goes to my stewards for their time and excellent assistance throughout the days.

It was a real pleasure to judge Manchester Terrier, Parson Russell Terrier, Bedlington Terrier, and Smooth Collies.

Thank you all for your entries and for the good nature shown in accepting my decisions on the day. From the feedback received, you all found it as enjoyable as I did judging your wonderful dogs.

Manchester Terrier

Class 481 Junior Dog (0 entries)

Class 482 Post Graduate Dog (1 entry / 0 Absent)

1st Bailey and Hancock, Miss L & Mr G, Rattustrap Crimes at Night

18 month old dog, was a little lively on the table today has good proportions, good wedge shaped head and nice MT black and tan marking all over, move well around the ring once he got into his movement

Class 483 Open Dog (3 entries / 0 Absent)

1st Broadhurst, Mrs L, Eaglespur Dutch Showman

A maturing dog with good wedge head, dark almond shaped eyes and V shaped ears carried well. Well balanced and in good proportions, fore and hind quarters giving great outline on the table and carried on when moving around the ring. Really did live up to his name today a showman. Represented the breed well in the group later.

Awarded BD, BoB

2nd Bodsworth, Mrs G & Mr P, Safiette Theos Doron

At just over 2.5 years old this boy is really coming of age, well angulated fore and hind giving good movement. Nice strong markings in the correct place, nothing over exaggerated. Tough call between these two today and I could see them swapping positions regularly in the show ring, just liked the movement of the 1st more today.

Awarded RBD

3rd Warner, Mr F & Mrs P, Ch Talanors Time for Fun ShCEx

Class 484 Junior Bitch (1 entry / 0 Absent)

1st Bailey and Hancock, Miss L & Mr G, Bacolibay’s Shrike

A new puppy into the ring at just 6 months old, shows promise once she matures a little into herself, was difficult to assess on the table and the ears are still in the settling position. Showed glimpses of some good movement around the ring and seemed to thoroughly enjoy her experience at a championship show.

Awarded BPiB

Class 485 Post Graduate Bitch (0 entries)

Class 486 Open Bitch (2 entries / 0 Absent)

1st Rudd, Mr MA, Digelsa Dark Velvet

A lovely feminine bitch just going into her veteran career but not showing it. Good overall type with nice markings, small V-shaped ears set, dark almond shaped eye, good fore and hind angulation moved well around the ring, just giving her the edge today.

Awarded BB

2nd Stockton Mrs B & Mr S, Magpiebank Breeze for Marlablue

Near 3 year old bitch, very feminine look and outline displayed on the table and on the move. Another with a good headset and overall black and tan markings where they should be, would like to see a bit more drive from the hindquarters when on the move.

Awarded RBB
