CRUFTS 9th March 2025

It was an honour to judge the breed at Crufts and I would like to say thank you to my stewards for the efficient and smooth running of the ring. I was very pleased with the overall quality of the entry and thank you to all the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge your dogs. Some decisions were very close but that is a merit for the breed. I could go into some of the problems the breed has but overall the standard was high and in my opinion the breed is in quite a good place.

Veteran Dog (Entries: 3 Absentees: 0)

1st 14750 – Swnydwr Wassap (Mrs AJ & Mr WM Samways)

7 yrs old Black & Tan male still showing on top form. Balanced throughout. Clean head, strong under jaw, well set ears, level head planes leading into well arched neck, level topline that he held on the move. Well developed forechest, elbows tight to brisket. Strong rear quarters with good width of 1st and 2nd thigh, good strong tight feet, moved soundly. Best Veteran

2nd 14701 - Abovo Independence Day ShCm (Mrs Y Gethin)

Black & Tan. Well presented in excellent condition. Level head planes with good length of muzzle, dark eyes. Just preferred the neck length of 1, level topline, well set tail, good depth of brisket to elbow strong rear that he used well on the move

Brown & Tan. Smart youngster of sound construction and balanced outline. Good front assembly, straight parallel legs standing on tight feet, brisket to elbow, clean neckline leading into well placed shoulders strong topline, high set tail and strong rear with good turn of stifle. Moved and handled well.

Another smart young male, overall balanced outline, good head with dark eyes, good length of neck flowing into short strong topline, well set tail, sound rear quarters moved out well.

1st 14680 - Supetas Boys Are Back in Town JW (Mesdames K & SM Brannan & Mycroft)

Brown & Tan. Smart young male, well put together. Good head with dark eyes, correct dentition, neat ear set, level planes. Neck is long and clean leading into good layback of shoulders, short level topline and correct set tail. Correct forechest, elbow to brisket, tight feet. Well filled croup, good width of 1st & 2nd thigh, low set hocks. Handler moved him well but he did play her up at times.

2nd 14727 – Zinedine Zidane Elite House del Diego (Imp Pol) (Mrs T & Mr I Mccall & Broughton)

Another smart young male, good strong head with dark eyes, elegant clean neck well placed shoulders and strong level topline, well developed forechest, tight feet, would have liked more rear angulation. Moved and handled well.

Black & Tan. Overall very smart outline. Strong head, level planes, good ear set, dark eyes. Good length of neck leading into clean shoulders and slight sloping topline with well set tail. Ample forechest, brisket to elbow, short pasterns and tight feet. Well angulated rear that he used to move soundly around the ring. Presented and handled well.

2nd 14677 – Grafmax Aladin Sane (Mrs B Bodfield)

Black & Tan. Standard size of sound construction. Well angulated fore and aft. Head piece not as strong or balanced as 1. Good length of neck flowing into topline and tailset. Moved and handled well.

3rd 14708 – Tuwos National Hero of Elmorell JW IKC (Miss E Moore)

Black & Tan. Substantial yet elegant male. Lovely clean head with level planes and dark eyes. Long lean neck leading into good layback of shoulder, strong level topline and well set tail. Sound front assembly, brisket to elbow, well developed forchest. Well muscled rear quarters, good turn of stifle which he used to power around the ring. Well handled and presented.

2nd 14672 – Kitado Ever So Funky (Mrs MI & Mr NJ Wright)

Brown & Tan. Overall well balanced male of standard size, level topline and tailset, moved well, just preferred the head if 1.

Brown & Tan. Well balanced of sound construction. Well angulated front and rear. Balanced masculine clean head, level planes, and dark eyes. Long clean neck, well paced shoulders, strong level topline and well set tail. Ribs well sprung, brisket to elbows, strong forelegs with good round bone and tight feet. Clean tuck up, Strong rear quarters, well bent stifle which he used on the move. Well handled and presented.

2nd 14694 – Amazon Showtime JW (C & N Evans)

Black & Tan. Heavier set male than 1, but with the desired elegance and good proportions. Strong head with level lanes, dark eyes, good depth of muzzle. Long clean neck, would prefer slightly more layback of shoulder. Good depth to brisket, well developed forechest, strong front legs, feet ok. Strong developed rear quarters with well bent stifle. Well presented and covered the ground effortlessly.

Black & Tan. What can I say about this outstanding male that hasn’t already been said. Eye-catching male combining strength, power and style. Balanced outline with no exaggeration. Elongated wedge shaped head, strong underjaw, flat skull, well placed ears. Long clean convex neck into good layback of shoulder and slightly sloping topline and well set tail. Well developed forechest, brisket to elbow, good spring of rib, and clean tuck up, tight feet. Rear is muscled, croup well filled, good 1st & 2nd thigh, low hocks. Never stops showing and his handler knows how to get the best from him, powers around the ring and moves true coming and going. Pleased to award him CC & BOB. He did the breed proud in the group ring and was pleased to see him pulled out in the last eight.

2nd 14684 – Jojavik Shaken Not Stirred JW (Mrs S & Mr D & Miss VI & Mrs JA Brown, Brown, Ingram & Ingram)

Black & Tan. Another outstanding eye catching male, overall well balanced and angulated front and rear. Head in proportion to body, dark eyes, level planes, alert expression, neat ears. Long convex neck into good layback of shoulders, short firm topline and well set tail. Well sprung ribs, brisket to elbow, strong straight front legs, good round bone, and tight feet. Clean underline, well filled croup, well developed 1st & 2nd thighs, good turn of stifle. Shown in excellent condition, moved very well and again the handler got the best from him. Pleased to award him Rcc.

Black & Tan. Balanced head, level planes, good length of muzzle and dark eyes. Clean convex neck flowing into strong topline and well set tail, Well developed forechest, tight feet and strong rear quarters with good bend of stifle, moved well. Well handled and presented in good condition.

2nd 14718 – Korifey Reckless JW (Mrs JM & Mr MW & Mr AM Kent & Kent & Sutton)

Similar in type to one, good head, clean arched neck into clean shoulders and strong topline, well set tail. Brisket to elbows, well developed forechest, strong rear quarters, tight feet. Moved and handled well.

Brown & Tan. 8 yrs old and still showing like a youngster, very elegant but has strength and substance, Head is a blunt wedge with level planes, dark almond shape eyes and excellent depth of muzzle, super clean neck and shoulders, strong topline that she retained on the move, tightest of feet and strong rear quarters that she used to power around the ring, very well handled and presented.

2nd 14693 – Ch Amazon Let Me Love You JW (C & N Evans)

Black & Ten. Another full of class and in excellent condition. Head is a blunt wedge, level planes, dark eyes. Clean long neck leading into correct layback of shoulder, strong topline and well set tail. Brisket lies close to elbows, well developed forechest, short pasterns and tight feet. Overall presented a balanced outline and moved soundly.

Black & Tan. Stood alone but more than worthy of her 1st place. Head is balanced with level planes, dark eyes, tight lips, good length of muzzle. Long clean arched neck, clean over the shoulders, brisket needs to drop a little, straight front legs and tight feet. Well filled croup, good bend of stifle, moved steadily. Presented a balanced outline just needs time to mature.

 Black & Tan. Soundly constructed, head in proportion to body, level planes, dark eyes, long flowing neck into well placed shoulder, brisket well let down, short pasterns and tight feet, strong rear quarters with good width of 1st and 2nd thigh, hocks well let down. Moved and well handled.

2nd 14758 – Kreiger’s Mirror Image (Miss L Stracey)

Black & Tan. Another lovely balanced puppy, square and compact. Head is strong elongated wedge, level planes, slight stop, dark eyes and flat cheeks. Long arched neck in well laid shoulders, level topline and high set tail

Well angulated rear with let down hocks which she used to power around the ring. Well handled and presented.

Brown & Tan. Very smart elegant bitch with the cleanest of outlines. Head is feminine and clean cut with almond shape dark eyes, level planes, great expression. Long clean arched neck flowing into correct shoulder placement, brisket tight to elbows, well developed forechest, good round bone, short pasterns and tight feet. Slightly sloping firm topline, well set tail, well filled croup, good width of 1st & 2nd thighs, hocks well let down. Moved well around the ring, handler got the best out of her. Rcc

Black & Tan. Another lovely bitch, square and compact, similar attributes, but just preferred the movement of 1. Head in proportion to body, dark eyes, level planes. Clean arched neck leading into good layback of shoulder, well developed forechest, brisket to elbow, short pasterns tight feet. Developed rear quarters, well filled croup good width of 1st and 2nd thigh. Well handled.

Black & Tan. Another elegant looking bitch, feminine head, long neck flowing into well placed shoulders, level topline and tailset, good spring of rib, brisket tight to elbows, again well developed rear quarters which she used to move soundly around the ring. Well handled.

Well handled.
