Belfast Dog Show Society

Breed: Spaniel (English Springer)

I would like to thank the Committee of the Belfast Dog Show Society for the invitation to judge at this year’s very well run show by Jackie Stubbs and his team. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed judging the three gundog breeds, in which I was spoilt for choice, especially in Pointers and Springer Spaniels, the latter having dogs that would easily swap places anytime.

SPANIEL (SPRINGER SPANIEL)

Limit (1)

1st. Bullock’s Trixhund This Is My Destiny ShCEx – dog with good proportions and balanced angulation. Lovely head with correct stop and chiselling. Correct eye shape and colour giving him a kind expression, good bone and feet, plenty of width to chest and depth to ribs, strong loins and well-developed quarters, nicely furnished, moved well.

1st. Topliss’ Sh Ch Sandylands Stand N Deliver - Very masculine, so balanced and sound. Having a gorgeous head of good length and breadth. Clean cheeks and well-chiselled beneath the eyes. Neck of good length, slightly arched, flowing seamlessly into well laid shoulders, having excellent angles in front assembly that made him stand out. Deep chest and excellent bone and feet. Ribcage well sprung and carried well back. Strong loin leading to well-muscled hindquarters with well-muscled thighs. Hocks well let down and squarely placed to the ground. Excellent movement fore and aft with good forward extension and drive from behind when viewed in profile. In excellent coat. His condition and muscularity gave him the edge on his competition. CC and BOB.
