Midland Counties 2026 – Finnish Lapphund Judge: Mrs Fay Matthews-Jones Best Dog - Ch Lappviken Keltainen of Manu JW Reserve Best Dog - Oberitz Kaamoksen Ruhtinas JW Best Bitch - Ch Limishka Kareitar JW Reserve Best Bitch - Ch Oberitz Tumma Ruhtinatar Best Of Breed - Ch Limishka Kareitar JW Best Puppy - Starlapps Javri Best Special Beginners - Elbereth Nuka PD – 1,0 1st - Elbereth Nuka: 9 month old balanced puppy. Masculine head with a soft, appealing expression. Shows pleasing head properties for a young dog with a good eye and well set ears set nicely apart. In body he is well proportioned and solidly built, slightly straighter in stifle than I’d prefer, a coat of correct texture for his age. Once settled, he moved well, demonstrating soundness and purpose. Attentive to his handler and very clear about enjoying his time in the ring — in true Finnish Lapphund fashion — barking! BSBIB & PSBG3 – congratulations! JD – 1,0 1st – as PD1 PGD – 1,0 1st – as PD1 OD – 5, 2 1st – CH Lappviken Keltainen of Manu JW: just turned two years. An attractive dog with a soft, friendly yet distinctly masculine expression. His head proportions were ideal, complemented by a beautiful eye and well set, mobile ears set wide apart. He presents a balanced frame with a pleasing length of leg in relation to his body. His coat is maturing well and I can only imagine will improve with age. He shows an ideal forequarter assembly, a well made body, and moderate rear angulation. His movement was effortless, clearly demonstrating the quality of his construction. BD. 2nd – Oberitz Kaamoksen Ruhtinas: Four years old. Another exhibit with attractive head features, carrying a more masculine look than 1. I would prefer a little more length of leg to enhance his overall balance. His coat was dense, though a touch more length in this area would have been desirable. His profile movement was effortless and easy however I preferred the front assembly of 1. RBD. 3rd – Arianrhod Havukruunu (ai) VD – 0,0 SBD – 1,0 1st – as PD1 PB – 3, 1 1st – Starlapps Javri: 10.5 months old. A very pretty young bitch with a feminine head and a lovely soft, friendly expression. She has a beautiful eye and well set ears. Ideally, I would prefer a touch more leg to enhance overall balance. She is well constructed, with a coat of good quality and texture for her age. Her movement was good — once she lifted her nose from the floor. BPIB. 2nd – Oberitz Tahdentuike: 7 months old and very much the baby, giving a lot away in terms of maturity. She has a different head type to 1, with a slightly longer muzzle, and I would prefer a more defined stop. She has a good eye and ear set, paired with a pleasing expression. Well-constructed with good bone and a lovely dense coat, softer at present as expected at this age. She needs to settle on the move, she appeared a touch wide in front at times. JB – 3, 1 1st – Starlapps Javri – as PB1 2nd – Oberitz Tahtien Hurmaama: Litter sister to 2PB, and very similar comments apply. A happy little girl clearly enjoying her day out. She has a good eye, well set ears, and a friendly expression. I would like her to grow up a little on leg to improve overall balance. Nicely constructed, though a touch wide in front. PGB – 1, 1 OB – 4, 1 1st – CH Limishka Kareitar JW: Four years old, carrying a super attractive expression. She has a stunning headpiece with an excellent eye and well set ears. Her construction is sound, balanced and moderate throughout, with nothing exaggerated and nothing I would wish to alter - a very honest, well made bitch. Her coat is dense, of lovely texture, and ideal in length. Her movement was a pleasure to watch from all angles; shown on a loose lead, she was foot perfect today. And talking of feet, covered in thick hair – as they should be! BB & BOB. 2nd – CH Oberitz Tumma Ruhtinatar: Four years old and pushed 1 hard today. I found her to be another beautiful example of the breed. She has the sweetest head and expression, soft yet full of character. Her construction is moderate and honest; being super picky, I would prefer a little more length of coat and a slightly longer tail. Another whose movement was effortless — she moved on a loose lead, covering the ground with ease and simply getting on with the job. RBB 3rd – CH Arianrhod Hallatar VB – 1,1 SBB – 0,0
