Richmond Dog Show Society

Breed: Dachshund (Long Haired)

Grateful thanks to my stewards Richard & Susan who enabled us to finish in good time for the group. Not the biggest of entries & quality was varied; but I was pleased to see the very nice DCC & BOB give a good account of himself in the group to end up with G4, and the BV end up with VG4. Well done & many thanks to you all for coming.

Class 894 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1518 HIRST, Mrs Janet & HIRST, Miss Natalie Ranglewood Lantana At Kejana, 11 years old and something about his name tells me we may have met before! Good head and eye, nice shape and balance; a little heavy throughout now and lower to the ground, but in good coat and condition & went fairly well. BVD.

Class 897 JD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1519 MITCHELL, Miss Emily Ch Dachyclan Connolly At Bronia (imp Aus), I knew with the appearance of his handsome chap I would at least have a comfortable CC & BOB winner should nothing else arrive! Loved his head and eye, excellent front & keel, super quarters & went very well on the move. Presents a super shape standing; a little light in condition over his loin on the day as against the more mature LD, also imported from the same kennel I see. Plenty of more winning ahead of him & should he an asset to the variety as a sire. RDCC but a close call.

2nd: 1515 BASHA, Mr Abdalla Delsaux Made It Jumbo Band, smart and attractive in head, if not quite the elegance of the winner there. A little more forward in shoulder & shorter in upperarm; so he had a hard time to match the winner for outline standing or moving in profile, but he is quite an accurate mover up and back and looked a picture in the sun.

Class 898 YD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1520 PAGE, Miss Amy Giovanni Rude For Kokoadax (imp Ltu), a little shorter than ideal for perfect balance when stood on first glance, good head and eye if he could do with more strength; his topline is roached & he could be a bit steadier in temperament. Has the basic essentials & was presented in a good jacket.

Class 900 LD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1517 HANNEY-MITCHELL, Mrs F Dachyclan Lochlan At Bronia (imp Aus), loved the arresting outline of this dog when I turned from the table, he is upstanding & masculine; very expressive head and eye, good neck and front angulation, well ribbed back & in peak body condition, accurate up and back and used himself well in profile keeping his shape and outline. At this point I thought it would be a close run thing between him & the JD, he is the more finished article at present & they are quite different, but two dogs with a lot to offer the variety. DCC, BOB & G4.

2nd: 1524 TAYLOR, Mr James & HILTON, Mr Michael Delsaux Across The Universe, another nice hound, not quite the eye of the winner & he too is a little upright in front which makes him heavier there & not as free on the move; his basic features are good and he is in good muscular condition. Quite a good profile mover & another in a super jacket.

Class 901 OD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1516 CROSS, Mr L J Breezelyn Long Way To Go To Loggeta, very houndy for outline and shape. Liked his head and eye, perhaps a little deeper in muzzle than the two I put above him in the challenge. Good quarters, well ribbed back and in very good body condition. He is sound but he put minimal effort in today in the heat & went with no real attitude or zest. Just enough jacket but I would like a little more of it.

Class 902 SBD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1520 PAGE, Miss Amy Giovanni Rude For Kokoadax (imp Ltu), see YD.

Class 903 VB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1514 BAILEY, Miss Diana Glasvey Double Trouble For Loggeta, very feminine bitch with a lovely head and eye, good body and forehand, well ribbed back with excellent quarters. Lovely size & a very feminine bitch; sound and free on the move. RBCC, BVIB & VG4.

Class 906 JB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1525 TAYLOR, Mr James & HILTON, Mr Michael Delsaux Singer With The Band, just out of puppy and a very nice young bitch with a lot of promise. Houndy head but still feminine, good front and has enough neck, well bodied without the need to carry any more so as to shield her outline, very accurate on the move & looked good standing. Good jacket coming & she should do well as she matures on.

Class 907 YB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1526 WEST, Miss Shanine Delsaux Twenty Carat Golden For Kendalldax, not a lot between these two, I preferred the shape and outline of this one standing and moving, but I preferred the head of Happy Ever After. Two young bitches with quite a lot to like & very similar on the move, though I felt the winner was a little firmer in hock and hind action.

2nd: 1527 WILSON, Miss Lauren Delsaux Happy Ever After, see above.

Class 910 OB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1521 ROBERTS, Mr D Swansford Debhoradora, very attractive bitch standing with a typical ‘Swansford’ outline; lovely head and eye, well made in front & has plenty of bone for her size. Firm topline, good quarters & well ribbed back. Certainly has a mind of her own but settles to move with accuracy & with an easy, free stride. Lovely coat of the colour and quality this kennel always produces, BCC, her first. For BOB, felt the dog marginally more steady but she should gain her title easily.

Class 911 SBB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1526 WEST, Miss Shanine Delsaux Twenty Carat Golden For Kendalldax, see YB.
