Alaskan Malamute Southern Counties 2025

A mixed entry with the males were far better than the bitches. I could easily have awarded five or six of the males a CC. However in the bitches the CC-winning puppy stood out clearly at only 11 months old. With no adult bitches being able to compete with the puppy, I saw no reason to award a resCC.

Puppy Dog (3)

1. Chayo Fire It Up For Lapema

At six months old, this is very much a quality puppy, and he has come a long way for his age. Head under development, but the foundation is all there, very expressive. Good rise of neck. Excellent front construction. Firm topline, which looks even better on the move. In a very good coat. Tail like a waving plume. When he got into his stride, he moved very well indeed. Best Puppy.

2. Kaskae Show Me The Monet Avec Keighanya

Big strong masculine dog, very well developed and already fully grown and does not need to grow on much more. Strong head, good ears which could be smaller. Strong neck. Balanced angulation both ends. Not in the best coat on the day. He was another sound, functional mover.

3. Polaris Lynx Hajndlberg

Junior Dog (1)

1. Cedarcreek The Only Way Is Up

Not big, but definitely masculine dog. Strong masculine head with well placed, small ears. Strong neck. I would like him somewhat longer is body as he is very close to square. Firm topline. Well set and carried tail. In a good coat. His very best feature is his sound and well balanced movement.

Post Graduate (2)

1. Cedarcreek The Only Way Is Up

2. Chayo Unlock The Power

Big, strong, masculine dog, well proportioned. Strong, masculine head, well balanced, but he could make better use of his ears which robbed him of his expression. I would prefer a better bite. Pleasing rise of neck, could have more fill in front and be more stable in that comparement. Pleasing topline. Moderate, balanced angulation behind. Reasonable tail. In quite a good coat. He moved well from the side and from behind, but needs to stabilize in his front.

Limit (2)

Two very attractive dogs.

1. Chayo Top Gun

Most attractive young, strong, masculine dog without any lumber, he truly filled my eye. Very attractive head even if not yet fully developed in width of skull, excellent expression and ears. Lovely, crested neck. Well constructed front. Typical feet. Typical strong, slightly sloping topline into a well set and well carried tail. Balanced angulation behind. He moved soundly and efficiently from all angles to win the CC & BOB.

2. Chayo Here Comes Trouble

Another very attractive dog, well balanced and strong. Typical, masculine head features. Acceptable bite. Could make beter use of his ears. Strong neck. Deep and capacious chest. Excellent bone. Well angulated both ends, making an excellent balance. Well set tail. In a very good coat. Another very sound and efficient mover. ResCC.

Open Dog (2)

1. Ch. Lapema Malizioso

Masculine dog with enough length of leg. Typical head, expression and ears. Medium neck. Could do with some more fill to his forechest. Strong and firm topline with correct length to his brisket rather than his loin. Typical feet. Well set and carried tail. Balanced angulation behind. Moved very well, especially from the side and from behind. A worthy champion.

2. Ch. Cash The Check Shamanrock at Snowshoes, JW

Another strong, masculine dog, a little silly in his temperament today. Just enough length of leg, I would not want him any lower. Very strong, masculine head with small, well set ears. Very good rise of neck. Very deep, capacious and firm body. Amply angulated both ends. In a rich coat. He moved very well from the side.

Special Beginner (2)

1. Chayo Unlock The Power

2. Kaskae Show Me The Monet avec Keighanya

Puppy Bitch (2)

1. Kaskae Ooh La La Avec Druxie

A big, strapping bitch, very mature for her 11 motnhs old and most eye-catching. Excellent width of skull, well placed ears contributing to her expression. Very long and crested neck; would not want it any longer. Excellent forechest and layback of upper arm. Typical slightly sloping topline. Deep and capacious body for her age. Well set tail, but could show more air under it. In an excellent coat. One for the near future. Moved very well from the side, could stabilize a bit behind. CC

2. Snowshoes Sweet Symphony

At six months old, this bitch both needs to grow up on legs and settle into her angles with maturity. Feminine head with pleasing expression and good ears. Medium neck. Firm topline, well set tail. In a good coat. Looked very much a puppy compared to her competitor.

Junior Bitch (1)

1. Kaskae Ooh La La Avec Druxie

Post Graduate Bitch (3,1)

1. Chayo High Jinks with Lapema

Bitch of pleasing type, just enough length of leg. Typical head and expression. Medium neck, firm topline. Her tail is not her fortune, curling towards the thigh. In a good coat. Moved medium well from all angles.

2. Bartkennels Ljosalfar

A smaller bitch who could be overall more impressive. Short head with very little stop. Pleasing eyes. Medium neck. I would prefer more strength of bone. Strong topline, quite pleasing mover.

Limit Bitch (4)

1. Tolketna Top of the World to Mountainglen

A big and strong bitch, could be more feminine. Quite pleasing skull, but rather long in muzzle. Dark eyes. Good ears. Strong neck. Pleasing front. Firm topline, slightly sloping, well set tail which she used sometimes, but not consistently. The coat is better than it looks from a distance if not excellent. A sound and functional mover with good drive. I would not want any more of her for a bitch.

2. Chayo Love the Rocks

Nicely balanced bitch, almost two year old. Quite pleasing, feminine head, not yet fully developed. Pleasing ears. Good rise of neck. Moderate, balanced angulation both ends. Firm topline, quite good tailset. Moved OK coming and going, but needs more drive from the side.

3. Snowshoes Fancy Ferrari JW

Open Bitch (1)

1. Ch.Chayo Causin Chaos

Big, strong bitch, not the most feminine. Typical skull and pleasing expression even if eyes could be darker. Good ears. Strong neck. Quite good front. Firm topline, very good tailset. Pleasing coat quality. She is rather heavy on her foot on the move and could give a more athletic impression.
