Crufts

Breed: Estrela Mountain Dog

Critique, Estrela Mountain Dog, Crufts 2025

Veteran Dog (1)

1. Ir.Ch. Tarsneyisle Odysseus

This dog is an outstanding mover and is very well built and balanced with excellent body proportions. But with plenty of stop, round eyes and lacking rose ears, his head is for sure not his fortune even if strong and masculine. Strong neck and topline. Well angulated both ends. A hook to his tail would not have gone amiss. A sound and efficient mover from all angles. Res Best Dog

Post Graduate Dog (2)

1. Mendiko Valetudo

Quite an impressive brindle dog, he is strong, masculine and well proportioned. Very typical head with correct length and width of muzzle. Would have preferred better shaped ears. Strong neck and forechest. Excellent topline. Well angulated both ends. Move soundly and well coordinated from all angles, if rather proud of his tail, but has a typical hook. Best Dog & BOS

2. Kayarrach Barkin at The Moon

Less developed dog, not as strong and not quite as masculine. Typical head and expression. Not the bone of the winner. Well angulate behind. Needs more weight and at this time somewhat gangly both standing and moving.

Open Dog (3)

1. Ir.Ch. Tarsneyisle Odysseus

2. Estjak Riodouro at Kayarrach

A very impressive dog in many ways, big and majestic and scoring in breed type. Unfortunately his temperament should be stronger. Typical head and expression. Reasonable rose ears. Strong neck. Deep and capacious chest and body, he has very good length of leg. Well angulated. Moved well from the side, but rather unsound as viewed from behind.

3. Mendiko Teixo

Veteran Bitch (2)

1. Bamcwt First Edition

Very attractive bitch with balance and beauty. She has enough length of leg with a corresponding body length. Lovely head and expression, typical small rose ears. Strong neck. Very pleasing outline. Lovely coat and colour. A sound and functional mover. Res Best Bitch & Best Veteran

2. Port.Ch. Seia Da Quinta Moinhos Das Almas with Milagre

A smooth brindle bitch. Strong head for a bitch, typical expression. Rose ears, if rather large. Strong neck. Very good front. Could be stronger in topline to make a firmer overall impression. Another pleasing mover.

Post Graduate Bitch (1)

1. Galliagh Alya with Milagre

A bitch with an excellent outline and very good length of leg. Attractive, typical head proportions, but her ears are rather disturbing and needs rose shape. Very pleasing neck. Balanced angulation both ends. Very good coat and colour, including mask. Could do with a better hook to her tail. Moved very well indeed from all angles, sound and functional.

Open Bitch (5)

1. Ir.Ch. J'ursa Da Acinomagricultura

Outstanding well developed bitch, combining excellent breed type with soundness. Lovely head and expression. Excellent ears, small and rose shaped. Correct neck, well set into shoulders. Well angulated in front. Strong topline. Excellent hook to her tail. Excellent coat. Moved well from all angles when getting into her trot. A comfortable winner of Best Bitch & BOB

2. Ir.Ch. Maya Da Quinta Moinhos Das Almas

Another bitch with very pleasing type and quality. Not fully developed at just two years old. Attractive head with very good rose ears. Balanced angulation both ends. Firm topline. She has a hook to her tail. Moved quite well from all angles.

3. Kayarrach Wish Upon A Star
