A very good entry, the quality was variable, but I was impressed with the winners.
Veteran Dog (1)
1. Ch. Orlock Evernight For Faehat ShCm Vw
At thirteen years old, this dog is in remarkable condition and has the most outstanding temperament. He is elegant, well up on legs, square in his outline. I would prefer some more bone and substance. His head is the right size, masculine enough. Very dark eyes and a lovely expression. Well placed nose, good turn up of underjaw. Very good ears. Moderate neck and front angulation. Good topline, tail could be somewhat higher set. In a good coat. He still moved with balance and energy, very much enjoying his day out.
Minor Puppy Dog (1)
1. Faehat Boater
At eight months old, this dog has a smart outline, but needs to fill in the frame. Pleasing skull and nose placement. Could do with more width of jaw. Excellent ears and lovely expression from his dark eyes. Good rise of neck. Excellent straight topline. Well set tail. I would not want any more angulation behind. He obviously needs to develop both in his body and in bone with age. Very parallel in movement coming and going. Coat under development.
Puppy Dog (1)
1. Venustus Wacky Races
Ten months old, well grown dog. He is well up on legs and masculine. Attractive head with a good skull, well placed nose, good turn up of underjaw and good width of jaw. Well shaped ears. Dark eyes. Good rise of neck. Moderate angulation in front, he needs to fill out in his forechest. Good back and loin, but falls away too much over the croup and his tail is quite low set. In a good coat. Moved out quite well from the side and was sound coming and going.
Junior Dog (2)
1. Ashiblack King of Swing
At fourteen months old, this is a very mature, masculine dog. He has just enough length of leg for optimal balance. Excellent head, masculine, strong without being overdone. Correct skull, stop and excellent width of muzzle. Very expressive, lovely eyes. Moderate neck. Well angulated in front. In a full body with depth and width. Firm topline, well set tail. In a rich coat of very good structure. A very good mover indeed, especially from the side and in front. Quite a show dog, he both stood and moved like a seasonal campaigner. For sure champion material.
2. Darkle Bronc Buster
Sixteen months old dog, not nearly as mature. He has a typical, square frame. Head still to develop, lovely expression. I would not want a longer nose. Good rise of neck. Would prefer more angulation in front. Firm topline, quite well set tail. His undercoat was rather thin on the day. Moved light on his feet and effortlessly, if not perfect from behind.
Post Graduate Dog (1)
1. Valkeith Neville
A well proportioned dog, square. He was not very happy in the ring today, but he managed to get his tail up in the end. Good skull, rather deep stop. Moderate neck and front angulation. Good topline and tailset. Could do with some more angulation behind. He moved quite well, but his overall impression depended upon him getting his tail up.
Limit Dog (3)
1. Darkle Vyvan Bear Starred
Strong, masculine dog, well constructed. I would not want any more of him. Typical, masculine head, excellent skull, correct stop. Excellent muzzle and turn-up. Medium dark eyes, they could be darker for optimal expression. Strong neck, well set. Well angulated in front. Firm topline, good tailset. Typical, moderate angulation behind. He was in a rich coat. A very good mover from all angles.
2. Venustus Robin Banks
I liked this dog a lot for type and overall quality. He combines being masculine with quality. Excellent proportions. Expressive head with well placed and shaped dark eyes. Good turn up. Excellent ears. Pleasing neck. Balanced angulation both ends. Firm topline, good tailset. Pleasing coat structure. He did not want to perform to his best, tending to side-track on the move and was rather inconsistent in his carriage and balance on the move. A dog well worth working with, I would like to see him again.
3. Laydelins Volante
Open Dog (6,1)
1. Ch. Avantgarde Zonked Out Zappa
A very smart dog, very well proportioned and very well constructed. Masculine head without excess. Expressive eyes, correct length of muzzle, enough turn up. Well set neck into shoulder. Well angulated both ends. Firm topline, well set and carried tail. His coat was not at its very best and he could be even more black, but still more than good enough to win. He moved very well indeed from all angles, much in synch with his handler, especially when not moved too fast. CC.
2. Ch. High Wire Walker of Darkle
Five year old dog, very typical and very square. Lovely head and expression, well placed nose. Excellent eyes. I would prefer more neck, even for this breed. Excellent topline and tailset. In a very good coat and colour. Sound and very precise in his movement. Lots to like about him and I very much appreciated his lovely breed type, but his lack of neck stopped him from going all the way. ResCC.
3. Afterglow Bat In The Belfry For Guereza
Veteran Bitch (2)
1. Spunky Monkey Honey Bunny Vid Laydelins
A very typical bitch, well constructed, if just enough length of leg. She has a lovely head and expression with all the details required. Brilliant bite and the cleanest of teeth. Strong neck, well set. Deep and capacious chest and body. Good topline on the stack. Excellent temperament and quite a show girl. Typical coat quality both for her top coat and her underwool. Reasonable tailset. She moved with enthusiasm and soundness, if not quite as firm in topline as when standing. Best Veteran.
2. Scalene Solitaire Vw
Leggier bitch, elegant and feminine. Could do with a larger head, even for a bitch. Dark eyes. Correct bite. Medum neck. I would prefer some more angulation in front and more fill in front. Firm straight topline. Her tail could be higher set. Did not enjoy being on the table, but was very happy on the ground, moving out well. Reasonable coat.
Minor Puppy Bitch (2,1)
1. Carycares Xmas Carol
At seven months old, this bitch is already a very good show dog and a performer, very happy and outgoing. Good skull, lovely eyes and expression. I would not want a longer muzzle than this. Acceptable turn-up. Pleasing rise of neck. Moderate angulation in front. Short, firm topline, typically square in her proportions. Body and coat under development. She is a well balanced, happy mover, at all times retaining her balance.
Puppy Bitch (1)
1. Afterglow Alma’s Not Normal For Pinicio
A truly beautiful bitch. At nine months old, she is very attractive indeed and makes a brilliant outline. Feminine head with a good skull, well shaped. Excellent expression. Pleasing length of muzzle, enough width of underjaw and turn-up. Good rise of neck, well set. Excellent return of upper arm and already has a good forechest. Firm topline, well set and carried tail. Balanced angulation behind. She is a very good mover from all angles, definitely a star in the making. Excellent underwool, but she still awaits her mature top coat. Already a brilliant show dog, never missing a beat. Surely a champion in the making. Best Puppy
Junior Bitch (5,3)
1. Bayclan Shiny Pippin V Tani Kazari Del Avantgarde
Very feminine bitch with excellent proportions, definitely square. She has a head of pleasing size for a bitch, very good ears. Dark, expressive eyes. Correct length of muzzle. Enough width of jaw. Excellent topline. Pleasing angulation in front. Could do with some more angulation behind. In a good top coat. She moved light on her feet and sound coming and going, at all times retaining her balance.
2. Darkle Mustang Sally For Hawksflight
Another attractive bitch, but somewhat rangier than the winner. Strong bitch head, excellent expression. Enough turn-up. Strong neck, well set into shoulders. Very pleasing front. Firm topline, good tailset. In a very good coat. She moved too wide behind, very well from the side and from the front.
Yearling Bitch (3)
1. Ch. Guereza Queen Of The Fairies JW
Lovely bitch of excellent type and quality. Well balanced. She is very feminine, still strong and substantial. Excellent head and expression. Very good skull, excellent stop. Strong bite with good width and turn-up. Correctly moderate neck. Well angulated in front. Already has a full body which is deep and capacious. Firm topline, sometimes she can make a bit of an arch of loin when standing, but on the move it completely evens out. Well set and carried tail. Excellent coat. Great temperament. A very good mover from all angles. I liked her a lot and was not surprised to learn that she is already a champion. ResCC.
2. Venustus Honour Winner
Square bitch, well up on legs. Pleasing expression, correct skull, stop and length of nose. Would prefer larger teeth. Firm topline, her tail could be higher set. In a good coat, not the deepest of black. Moved well from the side, a bit narrow behind.
3. Carycares The Naughty One
Post Graduate Bitch (6)
1. Faehat Halo
Typey bitch, well proportioned, typically square. Feminine head with ideal width of skull, well placed expressive eyes. Correct length of muzzle. Good turn-up. Moderate neck and angulation in front and behind, it all balances out. Good topline, reasonable tailset. In a good coat quality if somewhat grey. She moved well from all angles
2. Darkle Buckskin Boots
A very well constructed bitch, if larger and not as feminine as the winner. Strong bitch head, excellent expression. Good width of underjaw. Strong neck. Firm topline, well set tail. Excellent body, deep and capacious. A sound, and functional mover from all angels. Pleasing coat.
3. Florindale Just Magic
Limit bitch (6)
1. Faehat For The Roses
A bitch with beautiful type. She is strong and substantial, yet feminine. Typically square in her proportions. Standing she ticks all the boxes. Typical head with dark enough eyes to give her a very pleasing expression. Strong neck. Excellent topline and tailset. Well angulated behind. In a good coat. Somewhat inconsistent on the move, I wish she could concentrate more on the task. But she was sound coming and going and when she chose to trot, she demonstrated that she could do it well.
2. Faehat Percher
Another attractive bitch, also feminine and square. Typical feminine head, excellent expression. Pleasing neck, firm topline and well set tail. Not quite as compact as the winner in body. In a good coat. She was another sound mover, more consistent in her performance than the winner.
3. Florindale Letty Larkin
Open Bitch (3)
1. Ch. Avantgarde Les Fleurs Du Mal
What a lovely bitch, she has all you can ask for; the proportions, the outline, the head qualities. Excellent skull, correct length of muzzle, pleasing turnup. Used her typically moderate neck to her advantage. Firm topline, well set and carried tail. Moderate, balanced angulation both ends. In a very good coat of very pleasing quality, no more trimming needed. An excellent mover from all angles. Just lovely. Delighted to award her the CC & BOB.
2. Sendin The Clowns
Another very attractive bitch, also square in her proportions. Very attractive, feminine and expressive head. Excellent neck into shoulder. Elbows could be closer to body when standing, but corrected themself on the move. Strong body with excellent spring of rib. In a very good coat. Another sound and functional mover from all angles. Another of champion quality.
3. Wizabeanie Banana Splits
