Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Bournemouth 2025
What a lovely day with a very enthusiastic crowd and some outstanding representatives of this lovely breed, even if the entry was somewhat inconsistent. The classification was rather generous, resulting in some classes with very few dogs. However in the larger classes, the placements were hotly contested.
Minor Puppy Dog (3,1)
1. Dusklight Small Town Boy at Maskalon
Seven months old, white and red dog. He already has a well developed head with correct stop and width of skull and strength of muzzle, not too long. Expressive. Excellent ears. Well filled cheeks. Strong neck, I would not want him any more turned out in his front feet than this. Compact body with straight topline, moderate, but balanced angulation both ends. He is a sound mover, but quite proud of his tail.
2. Pridesdale The Real One
Red dog, at six months old, he still has a lot of maturing to do, including in his head. Attractive ears and expression. Pleasing neck. Needs to develop some more bone and substance with age and maturity. Well proportioned in his body and good topline. Quite pleasing mover for a six months old puppy. Excellent coat.
Puppy Dog (2)
1. Vidarstaff Snow Warrior
Strong, masculine white and red dog. He has a typical skull and cheeks, enough width of muzzle. Pleasing ears. Strong underjaw. Strong front, a little heavy over the shoulders. Firm and straight topline. Good bone and feet. Moved well from the side, but rather bow legged behind. Excellent coat, lovely temperament. Rather proud of his tail. Best Puppy.
2. Virtuous N Pride Soan of Fire
A finer red dog. He is rather immature in his head and too round in skull, needs a stronger muzzle. Excellent ears. Moderate width of body. Excellent topline, well set and carried tail. A fair mover. Lovely coat and colour.
Junior Dog (5)
1. Kamaristaff Royal Legend At Moultsstaffs JW
Impressive dog, well mature and substantial without being overdone in any way. Excellent head with very pleasing width of skull and muzzle, correct length of muzzle, excellent expression. Ideal width in front. Excellent topline, strong neck. Balanced angulation both ends. Wells set and carried tail. A bit inconsistent on the move, at times tending to pace, but when moving on a trot, he moved really well. I liked him a lot and consider him champion material.
2. Elitebull Valentine JW
Parti-coloured dog, strong and masculine. Another with a typical skull and cheeks, correct stop and length and width of muzzle. Strong neck. Not quite fully developed in his forechest at sixteen months old, Excellent topline and tailset. A very good mover in front and from the side, reasonable as viewed from behind.
3. Powerpack Jack in the Box JW
Yearling Dog (2,1)
1. Sharmara Lacrnum Inflamari at Duffman JW
Red dog with a lovely temperament. He has a very good skull and ears, typical cheeks. I would now want a shorter muzzle than this. Excellent expression. Moderate neck. Elbows could be closer to body. Firm topline and straight. Pleasing tailset. Needs more angulation of stifle and hock and could do with more drive in his movement. Lovely coat and colour.
Novice Dog (1)
1. Fairlenium Peter Parker At Granitangel
Red dog, masculine and strong. Strong, masculine head, attractive expression, very good ears. Could do with less wrinkles and some more stop. Strong neck, well set. Moderate return of upper arm. Firm, straight topline, well set tail, but carried rather high. Very moderately angulated behind. Moved OK, but could be more focused on the task at hand. Excellent coat and temperament.
Graduate Dog (2)
1. Bullbrothers The Navigator
A strong, masculine dog, mature for his age. Excellent skull, ears, cheeks and ears and expression. Strong front. Straight topline, just compact enough, I would prefer his a little shorter in his body. Very good bone. Well set and carried tail. He moved well from all angles.
2. Stormbreakers Vengeance At Milarke Bull
Red dog, at two years old, he is still not fully mature and needs to develop a larger head. Excellent expression. Good neck. Moderate bone and a little leggy in his overall balance. Moved soundly and very light on his feet. Lovely coat and colour.
Post Graduate Dog (1)
1. Kalostaff Es Lo Que Es JW
Strong, very masculine dog. He has a large head with excellent width of skull, pleasing rose ears. Correct length of muzzle, not overdone. Strong neck, could be cleaner over the shoulders. Compact body with a strong topline, well set tail. Lovely coat and dark brindle colour. He was very interested in what went on on the ground, but in glimpses moved well from the side, could be cleaner going away.
Mid Limit Dog (2)
1. Powerpack Severus Snape
A dog with excellent type and an excellent head and expression. Excellent ears. Strong neck, well set. Compact body, straight topline, well set tail. I would prefer some more spring of pastern. He retained his balance on the move, even if at times somewhat proud of his tail.
2. Hamason Sweet Little Mystry JW
A very athletic dog and a really good mover from all angles. Brindle with white markings. Not quite the head nor the expression of the winner. Good front, typical topline, well set tail. Balanced angulation both ends.
Limit Dog (9)
1. Hashburystaff Top Gun
An outstanding dog, strong and masculine, but totally without lumber. Excellent head with ideal skull, cheeks, length of muzzle, and width, lovely expression. Excellent ears. Strong neck, well set. Typical body with depth and ideal width and with a waist. Textbook mover from all directions. An exceptional representative of his breed and sex. Not surprised to learn that he was already a champion. CC & BOB.
2. Pasgal Reach Out And Touch
Another strong masculine dog with excellent skull and correct stop and with excellent expression and correct length of muzzle. Pleasing neck. Excellent topline and tailset. A really good mover from all angles, balanced and sound, effective and supple. Not quite the bone or feet of the winner.
3. Powpack Singularity
Open Dog (12,1)
1. Northstaff Nightmare
A well made dog with no exaggerations. Excellent size, not big, but still masculine. Very typical head and expression. Excellent ears, especially when he used them to his advantage. Strong neck, well set, clean over the shoulders. Excellent straight topline, short coupled and compact. Moderately angulated behind. He moved very soundly and cleanly from all angles. Excellent coat and colour. ResCC.
2. Valglo Top Gun
Another very attractive dog, well made and sound, rather similar to the winner. Another with a typical, well proportioned head with a wide skull and good cheeks. Expressive. Well constructed and well proportioned. Most of the time he moved well, but not as focused as the winner. Lovey coat and colour. Definitely a quality dog.
3. Ch. Kamaristaffs Royal Ransom At Bowtman JW
Veteran Dog (3,1)
1. Illiori Akinlana JW Sh.Cm. VW
A lovely brindle dog, masculine and strong, combined with quality. He has a classical masculine head, correct ears. Very good neck into shoulder. Straight topline, well set tail, if a little proud of it on the move. Very much one leg in each corner and a sound, functional mover. In remarkable shape for his almost 11 years old. Best Veteran.
2. Sunnystone Limited Edition
A strong, masculine dog, on the course side. Strong head, not the expression of the winner nor the ears. Pleasing neck and topline. He moved well in front, but has lost some of his athleticism behind. Lovely coat, colour and temperament.
Special Beginners Dog or Bitch (5)
1. Keep It Lowkee At Pindbystaf
Quite well balanced and proportioned red dog, even if I would not want him any taller. He was shown in some previous classes, but then looked too immature for his competition. Big strong, masculine head. A little long in muzzle. Excellent expression and good ears. Well coupled and compact in his body and a good topline. A no nonsense mover, quite sound from all angles.
2. Leebee’s Princess Charlotte
Red bitch, well proportioned and shapely in her body. Another with a good width of skull, shorter in muzzle. Strong neck. Well angulated in front, moderate behind. Her tailset is a little high. Moved quite well from all angles with energy and in sync with her handler.
3. On the Hill Two At Tidestaff
Veteran Bitch (4)
1. 1. On the Hill Two At Tidestaff
A well made and proportioned bitch who combines substance with quality. Fair enough in head with good width of skull and excellent ears. Strong neck, well set. Compact body with pleasing topline and tailset. Effortless mover.
2. Powerpack Alura Finvarra JW
Black brindle bitch, I preferred her head to the winner,. Very good as seen from the front, but longer cast and not quite as collected on the moved. Excellent coat and colour. Well handled.
3. Hammystaff Happiness
Minor Puppy Bitch (1,1)
Junior Bitch (6)
1. Kamaristaff Royal Legacy JW
Black brindle bitch, very mature for her sixteen months and a comfortable winner of this class. She is on the taller side, but still feminine. Top class head with all the important features and lovely expression, very good ears. Excellent front. Compact body with excellent topline. She moved very well from all angles, very much in sync with her clever handler. Surely a future champion. ResCC
2. Bullbrothers Black Oil
another black brindle bitch with a very typical head, flat skull, good stop. Strong neck, well set. Longer in her body and not as compact as the winner. Very moderately angulated both ends, which balanced out on the move. Excellent coat and colour.
3. Marstaff Red Revenge
Yearling Bitch (7)
Heading this class were two quite similar black brindle bitches, both of excellent type.
1. Berrystock All Tye’d Up At Rubericia
Typical head with excellent skull, expression, stop and length of muzzle. Strong neck. Good front. Could do with a little less weight which made her loose her waist. Excellent topline, compact body. Balanced angulation both ends. Stable in her front movement and moved very well from the side, keeping her shape and outline.
2. Magellason Tipsy Tilly JW
Much of the same applied to this bitch who has a lovely expression and a very typical head. Straight topline, very good tailset. Moved very well from the side, not as stable in front, but pleasing as seen from behind.
3. Keepastaff Lock And Load At Zakdan JW
Novice Bitch (6)
1. Berrystock Agamemnon
Quite a well made bitch with pleasing proportions and shape. Typical head with very good width of skull and pronounced cheeks. Excellent expression. Moderate neck. Compact body, pleasing topline, enough angulation behind. A no nonsense mover from all directions
2. Bullbrothers Northen Star
Black brindle bitch of very pleasing type and quality. Another with aa typical, well balanced head with excellent ears and expression. Attractive body shape and a good mover from the side, but needs to improve going away. Lovely coat, colour and temperament.
3. Trawden Summer Breeze
Graduate Bitch (8)
1. Berrystock All Tye’d Up At Rubericia
2. Bullbrothers Black Oil
3. Trawden Summer Breeze
Post Graduate Bitch (8,1)
1. Kamaristaff Royal Duchess
A black brindle bitch of excellent type and quality, well made and balanced. Typical head with excellent skull, correct stop, short enough in muzzle. Excellent expression. Very good ears. Strong neck, good front. Firm, straight topline. She stood very well over her feet and covered ground, still compact. Moved at the right speed, she moved well from all angles.
2. Cwmhaf Bring Me Sunshine
Black brindle bitch, another who is well made and with a very typical head and expression. Solid front and strong neck. Could do with some more angulation behind. Her tail is higher se than ideal. A bit unruly in movement, but moved well when she concentrated on the task.
3. Matrixstaff Moon Dancer At Tidestaff
Mid Limit Bitch (2,1)
1. Leebee’s Princess Charlotte
2. Trufflestaff Nyekundu Itri
Red bitch, feminine and well constructed. Her head needs to grow on as it is now rather small, and I would have like her to have a better bite. Moved light on her feet and quite sound, lovely coat and colour.
Limit Bitch (10)
This class was headed by two dark brindle bitches, both of excellent type, combining the bull and the terrier.
1. Scipelei Against All Odds
This bitch has a well made and well balanced feminine head with correct stop and length of muzzle. Ver good ears. Darkest of eyes. Good width in front, I would not want her to turn her front feet out any more than this. Excellent topline and tailset. Well angulated both ends. She moved effortlessly and soundly from all angles.
2. Llanstaffs The One At Rigantona
Similar bitch, another with an attractive head and expression. Heavier in ears. Very moderate neck. Well angulated both tends. Straight topline, well balanced on the move, very well handled at exactly the right speed for her. Excellent coat and colour.
3. Alport Dark Queen of Arkenstaff
Open Bitch (11,1)
1. Frisian Staff’s California Here I Come
A very beautiful bitch, top quality. She is strong and substantial, still feminine, and an excellent mix of bull and terrier. Classical head with a wide skull, pronounced cheeks, excellent ears. Very expressive. Correct length of muzzle and a ideal stop, not exaggerated. Excellent neck into shoulders. Firm and straight topline. A very good front and rear, balancing. She moved very well indeed from the side and in front, not quite perfect going way, but this was easy to forgive with this quality. A lovely representative of her breed and sex. CC
2. tr.Ch. Lasanta Princess of Satip
Compact Bitch, excelling in substance. Another with a very typical head and expression, very good cheeks, darkest of eyes. A little heavy over the shoulders. Very compact in body with a firm and straight topline. She was a very good mover from all angles. Lovely coat and colour.
3. Jayneze Miss Attitude
