Breed: Retriever (Chesapeake Bay)

Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Welsh Kennel Club 2025

I was delighted with the high quality entry of this lovely breed.

Puppy Dog (2,1)

1. Susqudilla Yankee Shadow

At just seven months old, this dog has come a long way already. Typical head with very good width of skull. Well placed ears. Strong neck. Excellent forechest and return of upper arm. Would like some more flexion of his pasterns. Deep and capacious body. At this time rather square in his proportions, and he needs to drop into his hindquarters. Excellent coat quality. He is parallel coming and going and nice and easy in his movement from the side.

Limit Dog (3)

1. Riptide Gentlemens Relish

An impressive dog, strong and masculine and very well proportioned. He has an excellent skull, well set ears. Would not want a longer muzzle than this. Strong neck with excellent length. Excellent return of upper arm. Depe and capacious chest, well rounded ribs .Typical topline, just a little higher behind than in front. Well angulated behind. He is a sound mover. Excellent legs and feet. Quite good coat. Champion material.

2. Battsrock Are You Ready

Sage coloured dog, another well balanced specimen. Not the head strength of the winner. Pleasing neck. Good forechest and upper arm. Enough bone. Straight topline. Moderate, balanced angulation behind. Lovely coat with some oiliness in it. A nice and easy mover, well balanced and in synch with his handler.

3. Muireatai Teris Love

Open Dog (3)

Two really good dogs.

1. Sh.Ch. Arnac Bay Huron at Bergelle JW

Outstanding dog, so well constructed and of excellent type and quality. Strong and masculine without exaggerations. Excellent head with excellent width of skull. Strong neck. Well angulated in front. Excellent topline, slightly higher behind. Well angulated behind. In an excellent coat. An outstanding mover, especially from the side. An outstanding representative of his breed and sex. CC.

2. Sh.Ch. Tideflight Floki

Another instantly attractive dog with a beautiful shape and silhouette. Very good skull,, not quite the foreface of the winner. Well angulated both ends. Level topline, very good tailset. Enough bone. Another very easy and well extended mover, well handled. Fabulous coat and sage colour. ResCC.

3. Glaneils Count On Me

Veteran Dog and Bitch (5,1)

1. Sh.Ch. Int.Multi.Ch. Arnac Bay Hebe

Absolutely beautiful bitch, excelling in both type, quality and construction. Lovely head and expression. Excellent ears. Strong neck. Excellent front. Exceptional movement from the side and excellent in front movement. Excellent coat. This is a very rare example of her breed and sex – just fantastic! CC & BOB.

2. Sh.Ch. Oakmarsh Dancing Diva

Another well balanced bitch, much the same proportions and qualities, but not the head nor the front movement of the winner. Lovely neck, balanced angulation both ends. Excellent coat quality with oiliness. She moved light on her feet but at times a little playful, which is nice to see at nine years old.

3. Sh.Ch. Chesepi Waco

Special Beginner Dog or Bitch (1)

1. Battsrock Are You Ready

Puppy Bitch (1)

1. Battsrock Ashes to Ashes for Sharbae

Feminine bitch, quite well developed for her 10 months old. Beautiful ash colour. Feminine head, needs to strengthen a bit, very good ears. Strong neck. Pleasing forechest. Good return of upper arm. Still a bit puppyish in her body shape at this time, but strong enough in her topline. Deep chest. Could do with some more angulation behind. Excellent prospect. Best Puppy

Post Graduate Bitch (1,1)

Limit Bitch (3,2)

1. Glaneils Daydream Believer

A very attractive bitch with an excellent balance and correct proportion. Excellent width of head, lovely expression. Excellent ears. Beautiful neck and front angulation. Deep and capacious body. Excellent level topline, well angulated behind. In a good coat with some oiliness to it. She moved very well from the side and from the front. ResCC.

Open Bitch (5,1)

1. Muireatai Miracle of Dreams

Strong bitch, well proportioned and well constructed. Strong female head with plenty of skull. Reasonable expression. Long and strong neck, excellent forechest. Typical topline. Well angulated behind. In a good coat. She is an energetic mover and quite sound from all angles.

2. Glaneils Don’t Worry Be Happy

Sage bitch with a very attractive outline. Just strong enough. I would like some more stop to her head. Excellent ears. Good rise of neck. Balanced angulation both ends, she makes a very pleasing impression on the stack. Could do with some more energy on the move. Beautiful coat and colour.

3. Oakmarsh Indian Dream Maker
