Bournemouth Canine Association

Breed: Welsh Corgi (Cardigan)

Welsh Corgi Cardigan, Bournemouth 2025

I got to start judging this breed rather late which explains the relative shortness of this critique.

Puppy Dog (2,1)

1. Twinan True To Form For Blamorder

Ten moths old male and no older than his age. He has nice body proportions, covering ground well. Head under development, needs more eyebrows and stop, ears also under development. Pleasing neck and topline. Not very eager to move today, but kept his balance. Not in the best coat condition and needs to stabilize in his front movement.

Junior Dog (1,1)

Post Graduate Dog (1,1)

Limit Dog (2,1)

1. Gowerston Geriant of Caprian JW

A big, strong, masculine dog, a bit more up on legs than what I prefer. Strong, masculine head with correctly marked eyebrows. Wells set and carried ears. Strong neck, good forechest. Plenty of bone. Quite firm in his topline, moderately angulated behind. Moved with normal soundness. Not in the best coat condition on the day.

Open Dog (2)

Two very good dogs, however quite different.

1. Ch. Tamlin Millennium Falcon

Strong, masculine dog, very instantly eye-catching. Typical head with good ears, strong skull, I would not want it any stronger. Excellent expression. Very good front, typically wrap around. Long and crested neck. Capacious chest, covering good ground, but a little high behind in his balance. Well angulated behind. Typical mover. ResCC.

2. Am.Uk.Ch. Wonderland Telltall Back To The Future

Mature, deep and masculine dog with attractive proportions, covering good ground. Excellent head and expression, very good ears. Not the neck of the winner. Very good wrap-around front. Firm topline, if not as clean in his outline as the winner. Moderately angulated behind. Kept his balance very nicely on the move.

Veteran Dog (4,2)

two veterans with excellent type and quality, both defying their years

1. Ch. Hanskes Just A Gigolo At Tamlin

Exciting dog, with a particularly beautiful outline. He has a strong, masculine head with the typical features, including his eyebrows, but I would not want it any larger. Excellent ears. Very pleasing rise of neck with an attractive nape. Well filled front. Excellent topline and hindquarters. He is a rarely good mover from the side, really striding out very well indeed and in no way showing his age. CC.

2. Ch. Bwthyn Headliner JW

Another typey dog, looking extraordinarily good for his eleven years. Elegant head, ears could be larger. Strong neck, well set. Excellent forechest. Deep and capacious body. Pleasing body shape, if not quite like the winner. Moderately angulated behind. He moved with plenty of energy and enthusiasm, if not the drive of the winner.

Special Beginners Dog or Bitch (1)

1. Ancksunamun Fa Mulan

Eight months old, very feminine bitch. Pleasing proportions, covering good ground. Still immature in her head and her expression is rather modest today. Pleasing neck and very good layback of upper arm. Shapely topline, well angulated behind. She kept her balance and outline on the move and moved light on her feet. Best Puppy.

Veteran Bitch (3)

1. Wildcard Queen of Clubs For Gerafa

Dark brindle bitch who looks well for her age. Typical head with eyebrows and well set, well carried and well rounded ears. Pleasing forechest. Firm topline, moderate body length and moderately angulated behind. She moved well and with a very pleasing balance.

2. Ch. Bymil Back To Blue

Blue merle bitch with an attractive neck. Firm topline, I would like her to cover some more ground both standing and moving. Excellent coat and colour.

3. Caprian The Vixen JW

Puppy Bitch (1)

1. Ancksunamun Fa Mulan

Junior Bitch (1)

1. Elessar Eclipse The Stars

A very attractive bitch in balance and outline and very mature for her age and with a good future. Her head still has some growing to do however. Very good neck into shoulder. Excellent forechest and a good wrap around front without exaggerations. Excellent topline, covering good ground, very well angulated behind. She is a really good mover from all angles, very free, open and sound.

Post Graduate Bitch (2,1)

1. Gowerston Graceful At Bwthyn

Strong bitch, still feminine enough. She has a strong head with plenty of eyebrows and well placed ears. Medium neck. Pleasing forechest. At this stage, she is higher behind than in front. Could do with some more angulation behind. Deep and capacious body. Moved relatively well from the side, narrow behind.

Limit Bitch (3)

1. Tamlin Rogue Shadow

typey bitch, strong, still feminine and with a very good front and outline. Attractive, typical head, pleasing expression. Long neck, well set, firm topline, falls away a little too much over the croup, but still strids out well when seen from the side, but does not like to move in a circle. Depe and capacious body, very good legs and feet.

2. Corlend Went Blue For Bymil

Another attractive bitch with an attractive silhouette. Blue merle. Typical head and ears. Wells set neck, firm topline, balanced angulation in front, just enough behind. She moved well from the side, rather narrow behind.

3. Caprian Adrianna JW

Open Bitch (6,1)

An excellent class with five lovely bitches, the competition was very strong indeed.

1. Ch. Joseter Morgan Plus Four

Very eye-catching bitch of very high overall quality. She covers a lot of ground and has a lot of drama about her . She has a very beautiful head and expression, well set and well rounded ears. Long and well crested neck, well set into shoulder. Just enough forechest and moderate layback of upper arm. Firm topline, balanced angulation behind. A bitch that leaves very little to coincidence, definitely purebred. Moved well from all angles to win the CC & BOB.

2. Chris Team Bakalia For Tamlin

Another very attractive bitch, typically low to ground, She scores in strength of neck and excellent forechest. Deep and capacious chest and body. Firm and strong topline, balanced angulation both ends. She moved very well from the side, at all times keeping her balance and outline, if not perfect going away. ResCC.

3. Elessar Lunar Eclipse
