Northern Ireland Whippet Club

Breed: Whippet

I had the pleasure of judging the club's diamond jubilee ch show, a show that my mum judged at in 1986. Great atmosphere around the ring and lots of specials for the exhibitors. Massive thanks to the exhibitors for entering under me and I was very happy to see every one of them. The hall doesnt help sensitive sighthounds and as such I had to try to take that in to my deliberations.

I felt the breed is in a fairly healthy state with many typy whippets under me. Good clean shoulders and decent movers, all in lovely show condition. My main five winners are lovely Whippets that the breed should be proud of.

Some mouths, however, do need attention, I had from overshot to level with very small teeth and what I call 'frilly' with teeth splaying out from the gums. Some of them are a health issue. Please, when using males and when thinking of breeding your girls look into their mouths.
