Longcoat Chihuahuas

I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge longcoat chihuahuas and for your hospitality and gift, also thanks to the exhibitors for a lovely entry of 103 dogs making an entry of 109 and to my stewards Jo and Lyn for keeping the ring running smoothly.

The quality was high in some classes and extremely varied in others. With the quality being much higher in bitches and some promising youngsters coming through the classes.

Class1. MPD (8/0a)

1st .Robson’s Tidos, Dark Destroyer, 7 months, smart black tri, Nice typical apple head housing a very tidy mouth, large eyes, large flaring ears. Ample neck leading to a straight front, high set tail with correct tail carriage. He moved soundly and showed well. Promising youngster.

2nd Holland-Smith’s, Kirdanchi Razzle Dazzle, 8 months sable, Nice for type, tidy front, held his topline whilst moving soundly in both directions showing well for his handler.

Class 2. PD (5,2a)

1st Rushton, Chang & Robson’s, Yensha’s Supersonic With Tidos, 11 months fawn, an absolute livewire. Nicely rounded head, dentition ok, and has a saucy expression with a tapered muzzle, well-made throughout and scores on the move where when he settles to the job, he moves briskly and soundly driving from behind. 2nd Patterson’s, Bramerita Mr Motown with Bratilda 10months red sable, lovely breed type, small and compact, coat in excellent condition, nice to go over on the table but today was unhappy on the floor. Just needs more confidence.

Class 3. Junior Dog (4,1a)

1st Todd- Mccoid’s, Rubyanlo Dream Boy, 1 Year old, black tricolour, handsome head. Correct stop with a saucy expression housing correct dentition, large round eyes, large flaring ears which he uses at all times. He moved confidently and soundly. On the stand is where he really excels and he draws your eye in. He is nicely put together, compact, correct front and rear assembly, level topline well sprung ribs, tail high set and carried well. Coat in quality condition with feathering in all the right places. He came for the CC today and even with a different handler in the challenge, he wasn’t leaving without it. In the BOB challenge he continued to give his all. Just preferred the classic type of the bitch. CC & Reserve Best Of Breed

2nd Gilling’s Rubyanlo Tommy Hilfiger of Talocan JW, Nice for type with a lovely expression, large round eyes, ears and correct stop. Coat coming in nicely and in good condition, was a little upset today.

Class 4. Novice Dog (3,1a)

1st Holmes, Baralicia Huntsman at Teclo, 16 months, Fawn sable. Good head housing correct scissor bite, nice round eye and large ears set correctly. He moved soundly and showed well for his handler today

2nd Robson’s Tidos Pumpkin Pie, 7 months red, super headed puppy with a typical saucy expression, compact with good front and rear angulations. Moved well, just needs a bit more confidence.

Class 5. Graduate Dog (1,0a)

1st Heap & Palmer’s, Chirouxe Little Things Maciendas, 20 months red, smaller for size rounded skull, with a tapered muzzle. He carried himself well around the ring holding a level topline , correct set tail carried well, driving from behind. Quality coat condition.

Class 6. Postgraduate Dog (5,0a)

1st Barker’s, Mocha Vanilla Baralicia JW, 22 months old fawn and white. Very masculine strong head and saucy expression. He is well constructed, straight front, leading to a level topline, tail set correct and carried well. Enough coat. He moved and showed well today

2nd Titterrell & Bruce’s, Caballie Monsieur Mercury, Glamourous cream in super coat condition. His topline is level and moved well carrying his tail correctly. Preferred the front of the winner.

Class 7. Limit Dog (7,1a)

1st 1st Heap & Palmer’s, Maciendas Ra, 20 months fawn. Domed head, and uses ears well, dentition OK. He’s compact with a level topline, good spring of rib and scores in side profile when moving. Showed well

2nd Todd- Mccoid’s, Rubyanlo Te Amo JW, 2 years old black and tan. Small and compact with a saucy expression, Dentition ok. Creates a nice picture in side profile on the stand. Showed well, with good rear drive and moved soundly in both directions.

Class 8. Open Dog (5,1a)

1st Todd- Mccoid’s, Ch Rubyanlo Close Call, 2 years, Won this class easy, handsome red of classic type, good head properties, dark pigment and expressive eyes and expression, finished with large flaring ears. Enough neck leading into a good topline, well-set tail carried correctly. Moved and showed well. Pushed hard in the challenge, on this occasion, he had to make way for his young kennel mate. RCC

2nd Evan’s, Lemaritz Endeavour, 4 years small, compact and dainty red and white. Has a nice expression, nicely rounded head and eyes. Always uses his well-set ears. Level topline showed very well

Class 9. Veteran Dog (8,1a)

1st Humphreys, Ch Amarantos Tobin, 9 years, sable and white. A dog I have always admired from ringside and was thrilled to see him walk in the ring today and to be able to judge him. Even in his veteran years this dog has a gorgeous head and expression. Well made throughout, still loving his time in the ring he moved and showed well. A worthy Champion. BVIB and thrilled to see him take Best Veteran in Show

2nd Heap & Palmer’s, Ch/JPN Ch Peregrine JP Chance Is Coming (IMP JPN) 7 years fawn, A small compact dog who carries his age well. Nice for type, and similar comments to 1st. Well made throughout, moved and showed well. Another worthy champion but preferred the expression of the winner.

Class10. MPB (10,1a)

1st Todd- Mccoid’s, Rubyanlo Next Top Model, 7 months red, Small and dainty. Gorgeous head properties and typical expression, compact body, topline level and held well, good front and rear assembly, she showed and moved well, coat and fringing coming on nicely. BPB

2nd Crew’s, Paradise Crazy Passion For Dreamcrewes ( IMP POL) 7months cream. Similar comments apply. Very nice dark pigment. Nice for size, correct scissor bite, slightly longer cast than 1st . She moved and showed well.

Class 11. PB (6,1a)

1st Todd- Mccoid’s, Rubyanlo Knock Your Sox Off, another small and dainty compact puppy from this kennel. Great head and expression. Coat is coming in well. Straight front, level topline, nice rear angulation. Moved and showed well.

2nd Daly’s, Dinarth Sunset Dreams For Lozmarchi, 10 months fawn. I liked this puppy a lot. Shes of a very nice type, good head, large eyes and ears which she used very well. Excellent dentition. She was sound on the table, well made throughout. Not easy to assess moving but when settled she has the most elegant side gate. She gave me snippets of her movement and that secured the 2nd place for her.

Class 12. Junior Bitch (9,1a)

1st Barker’s Baralicia Jenny Wren, 15 months red, A nice quality girl who also makes a lovely shape in side profile. Good head with correct dentition. She moved well and didn’t stop showing herself off.

2nd Langford’s Bramerita at Natural Blonde At Boetandales NAF TAF, 13 months cream, I loved her type. Coat is coming in nicely, Overall, a well-made bitch. Unlucky to come up against 1 who was on top form.

Class13. Novice Bitch (8,0)

1st Berrington & Smith’s, Pappersley Qomolangma, 13m Fawn, apple head, with dark pigment housing correct dentition. Coat coming in nicely and well bodied for age. Steps a little high in front, but showed herself off well to secure the 1st place in this class.

2nd Emmerson’s Ismirelle A Million Kisses, 2 years red and white. Very nice head with a melting expression. Overall made well, moved soundly and showed well. Carrying a bit too much weight today which cost her the 1st place.

Class 14.Graduate Bitch (9,2a)

1st Entwistle’s Dorenty Texttutango, Classic type, with the most gorgeous saucy expression. Typical domed head with large flaring ears which she never stops using, large dark round eyes and tapered muzzle, arched neck, her front is straight, good width of chest, well laid shoulders on to a level topline, tail set high and carried correctly. She is of correct size. She has enough coat with fringing in all the right places. She moved well in all directions and looked a picture in side profile when standing. CC, BOB & thrilled to see her take Best In Show.

2nd Humphreys, Amarantos Danyka, 15 months sable and white. Very nice girl and unfortunate to meet 1. Her owner tells me she had a fright previously, so we took it slow on the table. I loved her expression, good mouth and on the ground, she moved and showed well.

Class 15. Post Graduate Bitch (7,0)

1st Wilcox and Lane’s, Bramerita Angel Dust, 14m fawn and white, I loved her head and type. Her coat is coming in nicely. Overall, she is well made and nicely put together. Another that drew the eye in profile on the stand.

2nd Todd-Mccoid’s, Rubyanlo Miss Molly, 19-month-old red bitch, Nice head, well proportioned. She’s small and compact. I particularly liked her reach of neck. Consistent type from this kennel.

Class 16. Limit Bitch (7,2a)

1st Day’s, Monicachi Blue You Away, Glamorous blue tri 15 months. Lovely correct silky coat. Liked her for overall size and shape. Typical silhouette both moving and standing. Nice head with correct dentition, with large flaring ears which she used very well at all times. Moved with drive and purpose in all directions and never stopped showing. RCC

2nd 2nd Todd-Mccoid’s, Rubyanlo Showens Stjarna JW 2.5 years fawn bitch, she’s small compact and made well. I liked her side profile. Good topline, front and tail set high. Moved soundly

Class 17. Open Bitch (5,0)

1st Day’s, Ch Monicachi Queen Of Diamonds JW 2-year-old bitch heading this class. I loved her head and expression, large ears which she used well with good stop and large dark eyes. Correct dentition. She’s well made and sound as a pound although slightly longer cast and when she moves, she moves with purpose and drive. Tails set high. Coat in great condition. She was in my thoughts for higher awards, however a change in handler in the challenge meant she wasn’t on top form and had to make way for her kennel mate.

2nd Lee’s Ch Barwater Agatha Christie of Ridgehawk, 6-year-old black tri, a dog I have judged before and I still liked her as much today. Correct head housing correct dentition. Overall made well and moves with purpose in all directions.

Class 18. Veteran Bitch (5,1a)

1st Holland-Smith’s Oozora Queen Of Mystery JW, 7 years old fawn, A pretty and glamourous girl in great condition. Of nice breed type. She moved true away and back.

2nd Craggs, Reynoldco Sweet Dreams, 9 years old fawn and white. In super condition and doesn’t show her age . Another nice for type she moved well and clearly enjoyed her day out.
