Breed: Eukanuba Puppy Stakes

The future is in a good place with some of the quality of puppies that I judged over the four days. My overall winner though went to the French Bulldog Chelmbull Forget Me Not. She entered my ring on the first day and certainly ensured that I did not forget her. Good luck in the finals next year.

Eukanuba Puppy Stakes Utility/Terrier – Puppy Dog (30, 16 abs)

1. Nikisan It's Bean A While at Riveltofs, Mrs S A & Mr J P Fones, Miniature Schnauzer, this male just kept catching my eye presenting such a lovely shape on the stack, nice head of good length, narrowing from ears to eyes, medium stop, muzzle ending in blunt line, black nose, oval dark eye, scissor bite, neat v shape high set ears, moderate amount of neck into shoulder, shoulders flat and well laid, deep chest, round feet, balanced angulation, free and balanced sound movement. Promising puppy.

2. Kanix Stafford (ai), Mrs K S Wilberg, Fox Terrier (Smooth), 9 month male, alert expression, skull flat, little stop, dark small eye, small v shaped ears, scissor bite, neck of fair length into shoulder, short back, deep chest, strong hindquarters, small round feet, tail set on high, moved well.

3. Sharnor Sultan of Spica, Breed: Bedlington Terrier (Mrs J & Mrs C Fletcher, Bedlington Terrier

Eukanuba Puppy Stakes Utility/Terrier - Puppy Bitch (41, 21abs)

1. Chelmbull Forget Me Not, Mr D & Miss A Cund, French Bulldog, I absolutely fell for this beautiful 6 month old bitch, I just couldn’t take my eyes off her, she presented a lovely outline, square in appearance, domed forehead, well defined muzzle and stop, dark round eye, moderately wide apart, bat ears wide at the base, set high, moderate well arched neck, cobby in body with deep wide brisket, balanced moderate angulation, short tail, displayed correct breed movement with soundness of movement especially for one so young. I look forward to watching her develop. Days Heat Winner Utility and Terrier.

2. Whitewreath Red Alert with Minioso, Miss C & Mrs C Humphries & Iason, Akita, presented a nice shape on the stack, she has a large broad head, defined stop, almond shaped small eyes, scissor bite, small triangular ears which when carried forward is in line with the back of the neck, long muscular neck into well laid shoulders, balanced angulation front and rear, tight well knuckled feet, tail set on high, moves with powerful stride.

3. Copellastar Go with The Flo, Miss R A Copper, Miniature Schnauzer

Eukanuba Puppy Stakes Gundog – Puppy Dog (40, 19abs)

1. Beresford Stand N' Stare, Mrs T E Topliss, Spaniel (English Springer), judged this boy earlier this year and he keeps fulfilling his promise. masculine head with correct proportions, almond shaped dark eye, lobular ears of good length, set in line with eyes, good length of neck into well laid shoulder, straight forelegs, deep chest, balanced angulation front and rear, tail set low, took advantage of the large ring to show his true movement.

1. Casino Black Lofty at Glenmaurangi (Imp Pol), Mrs A & Ms T Phillips & Watkins, Gordon Setter, promising puppy dog, good head with clearly defined stop, dark eyes, scissor bite, low set ears, long neck into well laid shoulder, balanced angulation front and rear, elbows close to body, level topline, deep brisket, well bent stifles, well arched toes, straight tail carried correctly, free on the move.

2. Eastriding Royal Gold, Mrs K Jenkinson, Spaniel (English Springer)

1. Daenerys Girl On Fire at Dexbenella, Mr L E Nicklin, Spaniel (English Springer), a very promising bitch who kept catching me eye every time I looked around the ring, she presents such a lovely shape on the stack. She has a feminine head which is all in proportion, dark almond shaped eye, scissor bite, lobular ears of good length, nicely feathered, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, forelegs straight, deep chest, well sprung ribs, good balanced angulation front and rear, tail set on low, moved true with a free easy manner.

2. Flatterhaft Santa Ines, Ms A Karlsson, Retriever (Flat Coated), another lovely bitch, nice long head with a good expression, dark eye, scissor bite, small ears, reasonable good length of neck into well laid shoulder, forelegs straight, balanced angulation front and rear, deep chest, foreribs fairly flat, moderate bend of stifle, round feet well arched, straight tail well set on, moved true demonstrating free movement.

3. Lundgarth Ticket to Fly, Mrs S E Booth, Pointer

Eukanuba Puppy Stakes (Working/Pastoral) - Puppy Dog (25, 16abs)

1. Rosnorske Royal Qui Gon at Glamyarn, Mrs E Kosmane, Samoyed, this young male likes to test his handler in the ring especially in those moments when a judge looks at him, this masculine boy is well balanced all through, has that ‘smiling expression’, the required head shape with good pigmentation, almond shaped eyes, scissor bite, erect ears, strong neck into well laid shoulder, balanced angulation, back of medium length, deep chest, straight legs, long feet with feathering, profusely coated tail which was carried over her back, demonstrated his free and true movement. Overall 3rd day heat winner.

2. Boxania Rock and Roll Star for Daervlish, Mr A J & Mrs D A Huggins, Boxer, a promising 8 month old brindle male, medium in size, good head with deep powerful muzzle, top of skull slightly arched, undershot jaw, dark eyes, correctly set ears, good length of neck into well laid shoulder, straight forelegs, square in body, deep chest, croup slightly sloping, covered the ground on the move.

3. Elleonia Take A Chance On Me (ai), Miss D E Seward, Siberian Husky

Eukanuba Puppy Stakes (Working/Pastoral) - Puppy Bitch

1. Shadowess Moonlight Blue, Mrs L & Mr D Barrowclough, Shetland Sheepdog, 6 month feminine bitch, lots of promise, refined head with flat cheeks, dark almond shaped eye, small ears carried semi erect, scissor bite, sufficent length of neck into shoulder, correct body proportions, balanced angulation, stifle joint has distinct angle, low set tail, moved true driving from the rear.

2. Knytshall Thistle Ink It Up Koromandel, Mr O Wheeler, Norwegian Buhund, 11month old bitch who presented a lovely shape on the stack, square in outline with a compact body, alert expression, wedge shaped head, ears placed high and sharply pointed, moderately arched neck, level topline, moderate angulation, tail set on high carried over the back, light and active on the move.

3. Shloyan The Songs of Ice and Fire for Kellitcreed (IKC), Mr J Beard, Australian Shepherd

Eukanuba Puppy Stakes (Hound/Toy) - Puppy Dog (29, 17 abs)

1. Dachyclan Connolly at Bronia (Imp Aus), Miss E Mitchell, Dachshund (Long-Haired), lovely young male with correct body proportions, long tapering head, dark eye, scissor bite, high set ears, long neck into well laid shoulders, prominent breastbone with forelegs placed correctly, good balanced angulation front and rear, short loin, level back, good underline, broad rump, true and free flowing on the move.

2. Sueacres Catch A Dream, Ms S Smith, Pomeranian, very promising 7 month old male, loved his shape on the stand, head and nose foxy in outline, small ears perfectly erect, short neck into well laid shoulder, straight forelegs, compact in body, short back, fine boned, small compact feet, high set tail, carried flat over the back, correct coat texture, free and true on the move.

3. Gezancol Hey Jude with Khatira, Breed: Afghan Hound (Mr S & Mrs E & Miss C Finch & Hopper & Parker)

Eukanuba Puppy Stakes (Hound/Toy) - Puppy Bitch (37, 24 abs)

1. Aarminias Pillow Talk, Mrs M L & Mrs A L Place & Halliday, Whippet, a really promising brindle bitch who presented a lovely picture on the stand with curves in all the right places, she has a beautiful head with dark oval eye, scissor bite, small rose shaped ears, long neck into well laid shoulder, forearms straight, filled front, deep chest, definite tuck up, balanced angulation front and rear, slight spring to pastern, well developed second thigh, moved with freedom of action, true coming and going. Overall 4th day heat winner.

2. Cavallibrook Demelza, Mrs K F Ryan, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, really like this young girl and was a difficult decision between the first two, she presented a lovely shape on the stand, nothing exaggerated, correct head shape with dark round eye, scissor bite, moderate length of neck into well laid shoulder, level topline, balanced angulation, sound free flowing mover.
