Tibetan Terrier

I was a substitute judge for the breed at this show as Mr. Stuart Milner unfortunately had to withdraw from this appointment due to ill health. I last judged Tibetan Terriers at Windsor in 2019, so some six years had passed from that occasion. As was the case at Windsor, there is still a lot of variation in the breed. I still found some dogs which in my opinion were a little heavy in bone. As is typical in a lot of breeds at the moment I also found some which could have had a longer ribcage and a shorter loin. I was happy to find a good number with the typical large feet and long hindquarters. As always when I have judged the breed in the UK I found some excellent breed representatives in the entry. So pleased to see my BOB go G3.

1ST Silgarhi Catch The Wind to Verony (Mr A & Mrs V M Green), nine month old b/tan masculine puppy who promises well. Very nice type and correct proportions. Well developed for age. Pleasing head, medium brown eye. Excellet, typical large feet. Very good body for age. Moved very well and carried himself to advantage.

2ND Remmus under My Spell (Mrs J & Mr S James-Collins & Collins), 12 month old puppy who needs better ring manners. Typical puppy. Very nice head. Good neck and topline. Nice body. Very good hindquarters. His handler strings him up too hard on the move thus spoiling his movement. Needs some work put into him.

1ST Araki Shadow Storm (Mr A Barron), 17 month oldb/w junior dog shown in profuse coat. Shown in excellent condition. Beautiful type and excellent square outline. Bone a little strong. Masculine head of good shape, beautiful eye and expression. Very good body and rear. Excellent mover.

2ND Waterley Masterpiece (Miss H C & Mrs L M Lewis & Miles), 14 month old b/w junior of very nice type, but a little “raw” at this stage and needs more time. Very good head and expression. Correct amount of bone. Needs to firm up in topline. Good hindquarters. Moves well in profile, would just like to see a little more reach in front movement.

1ST Kashi Midnight Cowboy at Boshanti (Mrs K Guziolek), 23 month old masculine young dog of very pleasing type, but very much with a mind of his own! Correct square outline. Bone a little strong. Sturdy body. Very good rear and hindquarters. Gave his handler a trying time on the the move, but once settled, moved well.

2ND Lynces Don't Get Me Started (Mr G W Cherry), 18 month old black dog of nice type. Needs to carry himself to better advantage. Good head with nice dark eye and good expression. Correct bone. A little upright in shoulder. Medium rear. Moved close behind. His coat was somewhat dry.

1ST Araki Santana for Aonachmor (Ms J Tonge), almost three year old dog of pleasing outline and proportions, but would like him sturdier in body. Good skull and stop, but needs stronger muzzle. Beautiful eye and expression. Carries himself to advantage. Correct amount of bone and typical large feet. Good rear and moves well in profile. Very good coat quality.

2ND Boshanti Gerald (Miss H Millington), three year old b/w dog shown a little plump. Good head, sparse furnishings. A little short in neck. Overall a little heavy in this condition, but moves well in profile.

Lovely head, eye and expression. Super neck and topline. Well bodied. Excellent long hindquarters. Excellent coat quality. Outstanding mover. Pleased to award him the res. CC

2ND Araki Yubetcha JW (L Pediani), two and half year old w/beige masculine male shown in beautiful coat condition. Very nice type, although I would prefer him a little shorter. Very good head, eye and pigmentation. Sturdy body. Would like him a little firmer on the move. Super coat quality.

1ST Ch Waterley Heart Breaker (Mr G Davies), three year old top quality, impressive w/b male shown in tip-top condition. Full of his own importance and a great showman. Captivating breed representative. Square and sturdy. Beautiful masculine head, eye and expression. Proud carriage. Excellent coat quality and condition. Super mover. I see his dam is the beautiful CH. Waterley Partypiece who I gave her crowning ticket from Junior at Windsor in 2019. Won a very well deserved CC and Best of Breed and later G3.

2ND Araki Secret Loverboy at Taxiki (Mrs E A Laffling), four and half year old masculine g/w dog of correct square outline. Excellent strong body and very good hindquarters. A little narrow in front. Excellent coat quality. Moved well in profile.

2ND Int/nor Ch Dhoki Apsos Jackpot Jah-Zar (Miss M & Miss K Brunell & Meidell Hafsøe), eight year old black masculine veteran dog just a little heavy. Good head. Bone a little strong. A little long in loin and would prefer him a little more square in outline. Would like to see him carry himself to better advantage on the move.

1ST Malocomi Danced The Skies (Mrs D Green), eight month old b/w feminine and pretty puppy. Excellent square outline and sturdily made. Promising head, lovely dark eyes and good expression. Could be slightly better handled. Moves very soundly and well.

2ND Tazique Kiss of Life (Mr E & Mrs J Lawrence), just six months, feminine and very full of herself! Carries herself very typically and well. Pleasing type and proportions. Excellent mover for her tender age.

2ND Myrlea The London Look (Ms G & Mr P Marley & Thirlwell), also 11 months old, black with some white on chest and chin. Feminine puppy, better size than 1st. Needs to firm up more. Very good bone. Just a little plump. Moves well in profile, but front movement needs to firm up.

1ST Barnstorm Kimik Royale Beautiful Girl by Dzine (Mr Glenn & Miss P Davies & Lemoignan), 16 month old b/w beautiful junior. Has a stamp of quality. Lovely breed type, excellent outline and correct proportions. Well developed body and typical long hindquarters. She is very well put together and carries herself to advantage. Excellent attitude. A bit of a madam with a mind of her own and gave her handler a hard time in the ring! The more I looked at her, the more I liked her. Happy to award her the CC.

2ND Karamyst Showstopper JW (Miss K King), 15 month old lovely quality feminine junior who I liked a great deal, but she would have been to better advantage in slightly leaner condition. Carries herself very well. Quality bone. Corret large feet. Very good hindquarters. Just a little heavy on the move due to the extra weight.

 2ND Waterley Rumour Has It at Ellmarvern (Mrs J E Johnson), 18 month old b/w good quality bitch, 3rd. in Junior Bitch. Feminine of very nice type and correct proportions. Good head, eye and expression. Could carry herself to better advantage. Moved well. Beautiful coat of correct texture.

Would like her with longer ribcage and shorter loin. Very good attitude and carries herself well. Pleasing head and expression. Moved soundly.

2ND Araki Fantasy Funtime at Tizzycharm JW (Miss S & Mr G Armstrong & Cherry), two and half year old heavy bitch who I would like more feminine. Shown in plump condition. She is a little long cast and her movement would benefit from better reach and drive.

 2ND Waterley Dingdong Delishush (Mr G Davies), 20 month old black bitch of bigger format, but feminine. Very good head, medium brown eye. Good bone and well bodied. Front needs a little more time and front movement needs to settle. A little long in loin. Excellent long hindquarters. Excellent coat condition and texture.

2ND Ch Myrlea Just An Illusion JW (Ms G & Mr P Marley & Thirlwell), two year old quality bitch of better size than 1st. Lovely, typical outline. Sturdy body and balanced angulation fore and aft. Good mover, but would be to better advantage in slightly firmer condition.

2ND Boshay Pirate Queen (Mrs T A Perks), three year old bitch who is a little heavy and shown a little plump. Coat needs attention. Good head, needs a little more neck. Moderate angulation and movement a little short stepping. Needs more practice and training.
