CRUFTS 2025

PHARAOH HOUND

Firstly I wish to thank Crufts Committee for their kind invitation to judge at this show as well as for the excellent arrangements. I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon judging this lovely breed. The entry was very international and generally speaking of high quality. I will watch with interest the career of my very young CC winning male, who I thought an exciting prospect. My BOB female is quite mesmerising and what a thrill to see her finish fourth in the very strong Hound Group.

VETERAN DOG (1): 1. Collins & Dunhill-Hall’s CH. Fantasa Dallas Maverick, eight year old very pleasing veteran male shown in excellent condition. Excellent type and outline. Has a quality masculine head with good eye, expression and well carried ears. He has an excellent neck and topline. Good forechest. Correctly angulated and moved really well. Just a little down on pasterns.

PUPPY DOG (1): 1. Hansen’s Bazinga Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, just 10 months old and very immature. Well handled. He is masculine, but needs time. Excellent head shape, pleasing eye and expression, well carried ears. Would like him better angulated in front and with more reach in movement. Enough bone and good feet. Lightweight body at this stage.

JUNIOR DOG (1): 1. Peiponen’s Bazinga One for All and All for Me, just 10 months old, but quite stunning! Litter brother to winner of Puppy Dog, but considerably more mature. Masculine male of lovely type and outline. Excellent head shape, eye and expression. Ears of good size and well carried. Very good bone. Beautiful neck and topline. Excellent length of ribcage. Balanced quarters, sound & capable mover. I was happy to award him a well deserved CC & Best Puppy. I wish him well in the future.

POST GRADUATE DOG (No entries )

LIMIT DOG (1-1 abs.)

OPEN DOG (6-1 abs.): 1. Hansen’s Bazinga Make Mine a Double, three year old male of excellent size and balance. Good head, which could be a tad more masculine. Good expression, medium sized, well carried ears. Good bone and feet. Very good neck, topline and body. Moves soundly and well, but could carry his tail to better advantage on the move. Res.CC 2. Hansen’s Int/Nor/Swe/Dk/Fin/Nord CH. Bazinga Gonna Be a Mighty King, six year old masculine strong male of excellent type. Excels in head and has lovely eye and expression. Good neck and well bodied, but would prefer him a little shorter in loin. Feet a little flat. Strong rear angulation. Very good mover. 3. Mazurek’s Hun CH. Vermithor the Bronze Fury

GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME (No entries)

VETERAN BITCH (2)

1. Hansen’s Am/Nor/Swe/Dk/Fin/Nordic CH. Bazinga Dracarys the Deathstroke, eight year old female of lovely type and outline. Feminine from top to toe. Shown in excellent condition. Quality head, expression and ear carriage. Good neck, well bodied and has balanced angulation. Good bone and correct feet. Efficient mover who carries herself well on the move. Best Veteran 2. Hartley & Cannon’s Kurriera Sapphire Queen, also eight year old female. She has a quality head with well set and carried ears. Would prefer a better front and a slightly stronger rear and movement.

PUPPY BITCH (No entries)

JUNIOR BITCH (1): 1. Gamboni & Levstek’s Pharasai Pretty Expensive, 12 month old pretty junior female, who needs a little more confidence and training. She has a good frame to grow into. Feminine good head, would like better underjaw. Her front requires time. Good bone and feet. Rear angulation a little strong. Her tail carriage is not her fortune.

POST GRADUATE BITCH (6 – 2 abs.): This was a difficult class to assess

1.Lloyd’s Doucai’s Fontana of Athanasius, female who is a little square in outline. Better angulation fore and aft would improve her outline. Good head, but needs better expression. Well bodied. A little short stepping on the move. 2. Hartley & Cannon’s Doucai’s Pixxispad, 19 month old female who was not enjoying her time in the ring. Nice type. Good head, but not showing her ears to advantage. Needs a better front. Well bodied with good rear angulation. Moved well, although not so enthusiastic. 3. Falzon’s Doucai’s Principessa Xini

LIMIT BITCH (No entries)

OPEN BITCH (7-1 abs.): 1. Hansen & Stark’s Nor/Swe/Dk/Fin/Hr/Nord. CH. Bazinga Make Love Not War, three year old wonderful quality female. A beautiful combination of nobility and power. Cleverly handled to bring out the best in her. She is beautifully made all through and has super balance. Charming head with lovely expression, well set and carried ears. Carries herself to advantage. A very worthy CC winner and BOB. She did the breed proud by being fourth in the strong Hound group. 2. De Poli’s It CH. Dracarys Dancing Through the Fire, also three years of age and also a top quality beautiful female. Showed well and was handled to advantage. Beautiful head, eye and expression, well carried ears. Quality bone and feet. Very well put together and a most capable mover. Pleased to award her the res.CC 3. Panayiotis’ Ynchrenoo Gold Edition

GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME (1): 1. Falzon’s Doucai’s Principessa Xini, four year old female who was third in Post Graduate Bitch. Feminine, but just a little modest overall and could show to better advantage. Could do with a little more bone. Needs better rear angulation which would improve her rear movement.
