HOUND PUPPY GROUP

I would like to thank the Committee for the honour of appointing me to judge this group. I very much enjoy judging puppies and seeing exciting future prospects always gives me a thrill.

Out of the 20 puppies present, I short-listed the following six: the Basenji, Here We Go Again at Swanwite, the Beagle, Davricard Madonna, the Cirneco dell’Etna, Triquetra’s Nutcracker, the Miniature Long-Haired Dachshund, Llansansior Red at the Door, the Wire-Haired Dachshund Stanegate Sonja and the Rhodesian Ridgeback, Colkeririn to the Nines.

Group 1 and my winner was Craig’s most promising Beagle puppy bitch, Davricard Madonna, of lovely type and balance. She is feminine throughout, has a beautiful head and expression. Pleasing bone and well developed for her age. Has a stamp of quality.

Group 2 was Leggett’s tricolour Basenji bitch, Here We Go Again at Swanwite, also of very pleasing quality and showing very well. At 10 months she promises well for the future. Lovely breed type and proportions. Carries herself typically and well and is an excellent mover.

Group 3 was Pughe & Fraser’s Wire-Haired Dachshund bitch, Stanegate Sonja, I was delighted to find such a quality Dachshund! Very pleasing to go over. She has an excellent head and lovely expression. Good bone and length of ribcage. Quality jacket and a clever mover.

Group 4 was McDonnell’s Cirneco dell’Etna male, Triquetra’s Nutcracker, 10 month old very nice dog puppy, confident and showed very well. Lovely breed type, quality head, well carried ears and correct proportions. Very good mover.
