MIDLAND COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2025

Italian Greyhound

This was my first CC appointment in the breed. I was most pleased with the lovely entry of 66. I have previously judged Italian Greyhounds in the UK without CC’s at Southern Counties in 2016. Although there are some differences in the FCI and KC standards, both look for a small square dog with some dramatic curves. The entry at Midland Counties was very interesting, but at the same time challenging as there was a lot of variation in size, toplines and angulation. I was very happy with my main winners and also found some youngsters who promise well for the future. Thank you for a pleasant morning with this enchanting breed.

Minor Puppy Dog

1ST Ophis Perigeo (Imp It) TAF (Miss L Weston), six month old masculine blue puppy with very pleasing outline. Up-to-size. Quality long head, very nice neck. Very good bone. Good body and well angulated rear. Moves quite well, but would benefit from more training.

2ND Salatini Frank Sinatra (Miss N Hunter), also six months old and very much a puppy. Adequate length of head. Well carried ears. He has a pleasing profile. Good bone. Typical mover.

Puppy Dog

1ST Salatini Black Magic (Mrs A Collins), six months old black puppy of lovely breed type. Square in outline. Very good head shape with good length, excellent dark eye. Nice bone. Moves well for age, just a little proud of his tail at times.

2ND Pegani Colorino (Mrs N Russell), also six months old masculine puppy, but very up-to-size. He needs a better and more typical topline. Good head, eye a little small. Good bone. Needs more training on the move.

1ST Florita Turbolento (Miss H M Lister), 16 month old beautiful young dog, who promises well for the future. Masculine and well developed for age. Very good shape and length of head. Good eye and expression. Quality bone. Very good body and rear. Very capable mover.

2ND Alura Bandito at Loweroak (Imp Usa) (Mrs D & Mr G W & Mr G L Bailey). 16 month old junior dog, who was a little unsettled and needs more training on the move. Would like a slightly more masculine head and better expression. Good proportions and type. Correct bone. Needs to drop in hindquarters. Lovely temperament, just needs more training.

1ST Crystaldrift Neo Lythix (Miss L Weston), two year old masculine male of very nice type and outline, but up-to-size. Excellent head qualities. Correct neck. Stands well in front. Good body and rear. Very good mover.

1ST Ackra's Gondolero among Jocenro (Mr J L Centella-Rodriguez), two and half year old excellent quality black dog. Super head, good eye and expression. Lovely outline. Beautiful body and rear. Great little showman. Quality bone. Presents a very nice picture standing and is a joy to watch on the move. Very pleased to award him the res.CC

 2ND Salatini Supremo (Miss N Hunter), three year old fawn male of lovely size and shown in excellent condition. Head of medium length. Would like a slightly better skull, beautiful eye and expression. Adequate body, nice rear. Very nice standing, but not moving to advantage.

Excellent shape and length of head, very nice eye and expression. Good bone. Very nice body and quarters. Shown in excellent condition. Excellent mover. CC

 2ND Ch Artmeis Aces High of Regallust (imp) (Mrs J & Mrs M Amsel & Hayden-Smith), two year old beautiful, masculine, quality dog of lovely size. Very good head shape and length, nice eye and expression. Very good bone and excellent body. Correctly angulated fore and aft. Excellent mover.

1ST Blue Lagoon of Bytheiad (Dr J S Thompson), seven and half year old masculine veteran dog shown in excellent condition. Excellent type and pleasing outline. Pleasing head of very good length. Correct proportions. A little untidy in his front movement, but moves well behind.

1ST Laborghini Requiem (Mrs M, Miss M & Mrs J Smith, Smith & Teasel), six months old feminine fawn beautiful bitch puppy. Quality head of lovely shape and length, good eye and expression. Well developed body for age. She is very soundly made and moved very well. Best Puppy

2ND Jocenro's Hipolita (Mr J L Centella-Rodriguez), eight month old feminine black in need of some more practice and ring training. Head promises well. Quality bone. Body needs a little more time. Very good rear and angulation. Movement a little difficult to assess.

1ST Pegani Berluccia (Miss Sj & Mr David Liptrott & Fisher), 10 month old feminine puppy very nicely developed for age. Head of good shape, medium length. Correct bone. Front & front movement need more time. Good body and rear.

2ND Jocenro's Matea (Mr J L Centella-Rodriguez), eight month old feminine black puppy bitch who is a little slight at the moment and needs more time. She is nicely put together, just needs a little more body. Beautiful head of very good length, medium brown eye. Very busy on the move and needs to settle in movement.

1ST Florita Tesoruccio (Miss H M Lister), 16 month old beautiful junior bitch. Excellent type and shape. Quality head of correct length, beautiful eye and expression. Good bone, well bodied. Excellent rear. Moves very well, although she could have slightly better reach in front.

 2ND Bartondax Lumi (Ms L Hague), 15 month old feminine, slightly shy junior who needs a little more confidence. Lovely type and she is shapely. Very nice head of good length, very good eye and expression. Good bone. Nice body, very good rear. Moved well.

1ST Littlebriton Galway Girl (Mrs Sl Read), 22 month old feminine, up-to-size bitch, but her type was the best in this class. Very typical. Pleasing head of correct length. Very good bone, body and rear. Needs a more stable front. Moved well in profile.

2ND Bytheiad Fair Guinevere at Willingwisp (Miss L Smeath), two year old feminine bitch of better size. Good head, but needs a more typical expression and her eye is rather light. Good bone and body. Needs better rear angulation. Nice mover.

1ST Pendlethrine Run Baby Run at Atikan (Mrs N & Mr K O’hare Wilson & Wilson), two year old excellent quality bitch of lovely size and overall a very neat “package”. Feminine head, excellent expression. Beautiful bone and very good body. Nicely angulated and a very good mover.

2ND Black Baraka Ultra Violet avec Ansanda (Imp Fra) (Mrs A J & Miss D M Guyton), two year old bitch, also of very lovely quality. Super head of very good length. She has a lovely outline standing. Good bone and body. Sound, capable mover.

1ST Ch Revillo Campanella (Miss H M Lister), three and half year old beautiful, feminine bitch with lovely balance. Full of quality, shown in excellent condition. Excellent head shape with lovely length. Very nice eye and expression. Soundly made with super outline. Outstanding mover. So pleased to award her the CC and Best of Breed.

 2ND Miwell Mary Quant by Lamoye JW (Dr J M Mellis), four year old feminine, quality bitch of lovely type and correct proportions. Excellent length of head, would just like a slightly stronger muzzle. Nice bone. Well bodied. Very capable mover.

Veteran Bitch

2ND Velvethound Lilly (Ms I Brundtland), three year old up-to-size bitch, who I would like with a little more bone. Her skull is a little round. Very good body. Fails in rear movement and would like to see her better balanced overall.
