MIDLAND COUNTIES CANINE SOCIETY

GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2025

PASTORAL GROUP

I would like to thank the committee for the kind invitation to judge over the four days at this show. Thank you for the warm welcome, generous hospitality and excellent arrangements. It has been a pleasure to return to judge at this show.

Thank you for the honour of judging the Pastoral Group; the Best of Breed winners looked magnificent on the blue carpet.

I shortlisted seven dogs: the Border Collie, Sh Ch Fayken I Am Love JW, the Belgian Shepherd Dog (Tervueren), Ch Domburg Made By Hawksflight, the German Shepherd Dog, Ch Desjiem Van De Herdersfarm (Imp Deu), the Old English Sheepdog, Bugaboo’s Dream Big with Bottom Shaker, the Samoyed, Ch Vandreem Imperial Breeze over Berezniki, the Shetland Sheepdog, Ch Edglonian Golden Graham, and the Welsh Corgi (Pembroke), Monarchor Lady Luck at Meitza JW.

My winner was the beautifully balanced Shetland Sheepdog male, Pearson’s Ch Edglonian Golden Graham. A dog of true quality, shown to perfection and never putting a foot wrong. Beautifully made, top quality breed representative with lovely natural carriage and a super head and expression. What a thrill it was on the final day to see him take Best in Show under Geoff Corish.

Group 2 was Mackie, Lester & Smith’s Belgian Shepherd Dog (Tervueren), Ch Domburg Made By Hawksflight. Also of top quality and one I have met before at WELKS a couple of years ago when she was my Best of Breed winner. Such a beautiful female, oozing quality, carrying herself to perfection, gorgeous head and expression. Accurate and most typical breed specific movement.

Group 3 was Koroknai’s Old English Sheepdog, Bugaboo’s Dream Big with Bottom Shaker. A lovely quality OES presented and moved to perfection and shown in profuse good quality coat. Very well made throughout with strong bone and sound quarters. Lovely male head and excellent expression.

Finally, Group 4 went to Miller & Haslam’s Welsh Corgi (Pembroke), Monarchor Lady Luck at Meitza JW. Very nice quality young female, who had won her title on the day – congratulations. Feminine from top to toe and performing beautifully. Lovely breed type and a great showgirl.
