Driffield Championship Dog Show

Thanks to the committee for the invitation and to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs and accepting my decisions gracefully. My stewards Dave and Jane Howarth were marvellous and looked after me keeping the ring running smoothly. 

Class SBD (2 Entries) Abs: 11st: WALLACE HORNE, Miss Kelly Skylar's Chico. This five year old blue and fawn was a good start to the day with his attractive head which had good length, well placed rose ears, and dark round eyes. He had an arched neck, depth of chest, correct topline, turn of stifle and moved with drive. BSB

Class VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: AMSEL, Mrs J B Ch Florita Tavalino. The way this dog strode out around the ring made it difficult to believe that he was 11 years old. F/W and beginning to show his age in head but still with dark bright eyes, black nose and well placed ears. He looked good in profile with straight front, deep narrow chest, tuck up and slight arch over the loin. BVIB and delighted to see him win the Veteran group.

Class MPD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: MELLIS, Dr J M Lamoye Magnificent Matteo Just 6 months old and very much a baby but showing promise; he had a long narrow skull, dark eyes and pigment but ears still need to settle. He moved with lift at the front and drive from the rear.

Class LD (4 Entries) Abs: 0. 1st: LISTER, Miss H M Florita Turbolento. 14 month old F/W who excels in profile with long graceful neck, straight front, deep narrow chest, spring of rib, arch over the loin and long muscled thigh. He moved soundly with drive from the rear and lift at the front. He was so elegant and oozed breed type and I was happy to award him the RCC 2nd: WALLACE HORNE, Miss Kelly Skylar's Chico (see special beginner). 3rd: BRUNDTLAND, Ms Ingun Miwell Alex Mcqueen

Class OD (4 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: CHAU, Miss Christine & STEELE JR., Mr James R Ch & US Gr Ch Jaros Ferazi Et Tu Brute At Sfizimio 4 year old B/W dog who moved elegantly with lift at the front and drive from the rear. He had a long arched neck, depth of chest, spring of rib, tuck up, low set tail and correct topline. He had a long narrow skull, dark expressive eyes, black nose and well placed ears. CC and BOS 2nd: WILLCOCK, Mr David Ch Newill Haymaker JW. 2 year old F/W smaller than 1st and although lacking the maturity of 1st he was of lovely breed type. He had a typical head with flat skull, slight stop and rose ears which were placed well back. He looks good in profile showing off his long graceful neck, straight front, depth of chest and turn of stifle, an elegant dog. 3rd: THORNE, Miss Chloe Ch Boccalupo Lucky Luciano (Can Imp)

Class SBB (4 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: PENDLEBURY, Mrs C Raising Venus Du Zephyr De Bizance Pendlethrine Almost 5 years old this cream bitch had dark eyes, elongated muzzle, straight front, deep chest and turn of stifle. She moved soundly. 2nd: FRYETT, Mrs Tracy Kensesqui Jive To Silhouettig. Red and white 2 year old with well placed rose ears, depth of chest, spring of rib, tuck up and turn of stifle. I thought that this would be my winner but not moving so well today.

Class VB (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: HENSHALL, Mrs Christine Ch Gemolli Antique Tapestry JW ShCEx OSW. This was a quality bitch; 8years old and not showing her age at all. Very feminine with dark expressive eyes, long narrow skull, rose ears and dark nose pigment. She was well constructed with correct topline and turn of stifle. 2nd: HILL, Miss K Princess Fefe This 7 year old bitch was very overweight which spoiled her profile but she had a pleasing head with a long flat skull, dark eyes, black nose and straight front.

Class PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: CHAU, Miss Christine Amore Dreaming In Firenze At Sfizimio (Imp USA) Almost 12 months old this fawn and white puppy really took my eye; small and neat with a feminine head she had a straight front with depth of chest, correct topline and long well muscled thighs. I was pleased to award her BPIB but disappointed that she did not stay for the group.

Class JB (4 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: LISTER, Miss H M Florita Tesoruccio Elegant fawn 14 month old bitch who was well constructed with a straight front, arched neck, deep narrow chest, spring of ribs, tuck up and good length to thigh. She had a feminine head with a long narrow skull, dark expressive eyes, well placed ears and super breed type. 2nd BRADLEY, Mrs Caroline Rilloby Line Of Duty At Emmzar Promising 14 month old B/W with an attractive head, elongated skull, dark eyes, black nose and slight stop; she was well constructed and moved soundly but lost out to 1st place on maturity.3rd: HAGUE, Ms L J Bartondax Lumi

Class PGB (2 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: HENSHALL, Mrs Christine Gemolli A Million Dreams JW. 20 months old fawn and white of good breed type; feminine head with dark expressive eyes , long narrow skull and rose ears. Scored in profile with lay of shoulder, slight rise over the loin and low set tail and moved with lift at the front.

Class LB (10 Entries) Abs: 1 The first two were both lovely bitches of good breed type.

1st: HUNTER, Miss N Salatini Rose Gold. Gorgeous large dark eyes and black pigment on this feminine bitch with correct head shape and rose ears placed well back. She had good reach of neck, straight front, depth of chest, correct topline, low set tail and turn of stifle and she moved soundly and with elegance RCC. 2nd: HENSHALL, Mrs Christine Gemolli One Moment In Time. Slightly bigger than 1st but a quality bitch; fawn and white with large dark expressive eyes, long narrow skull and well placed rose ears. She had depth of chest, tuck up and turn of stifle but today not as positive on the move as 1st. 3rd: KNIGHT, Mrs M Aelaro It's All About Me

Class OB (7 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: AMSEL, Mrs J B & RISHWORTH, Ms Helen Ch Artmeis Raise The Stakes Fawn and white bitch who moved so soundly with lift at the front and drive from the rear; she had a long arched neck, straight front, a deep narrow chest, slight rise over the loin and turn of stifle. She had a feminine head of good length with large dark expressive eyes, black nose and well placed rose ears. I understand that I gave her the RCC last time I judged and I’m pleased to see that she has come on so well. BCC & BOB and I was delighted to see her take a well deserved 4th in the group. 2nd: KNIGHT, Mrs M Ch Aelaro At Last. Mature B/W of slightly heavier build with good depth of chest, length to ribs, tuck up and long well muscled thigh. She had an attractive head with long narrow skull, dark eyes and black nose. 3rd: AMSEL, Mrs J B & RISHWORTH, Ms Helen Ch Artmeis Three Card Trick
