Breed: Affenpinscher

Puppy Dog

1. Shennan’s Ashiblack King of Swing BPIB

I really liked this dog who was in excellent condition, full of confidence and moved jauntily with the required floating goose step. He had a broad brow, dark sparkling eyes, correct mouth, prominent chin and straight front; he had a short, straight back with the topline dropping slightly at the croup and correct tail carriage. Quality dog

2. Wiggins’ Buffels Schwarz Spinne with Scapafield

Not the substance or maturity of first, but he had dark round eyes, a monkey like expression, correct coat texture and looks good in profile.

Post Graduate

1. Cairns, Cairns & Holmes’ Galicar Private Dick

Lovely square shape to this dog and he moved with a floating goosestep; he had dark sparkling eyes, straight front and no excessive rear angulation. I liked his size and his tail set and carriage.

2. Barron’s Dinahtron Bear Faced Cheek. This dog was bigger all through but he moved correctly with good tail carriage and had dark sparkling eyes and a broad brow.

3. Panton’s Guereza Goody Goody Yum Yum

Open Dog – This was a lovely class

1. Stewart & Boulcott’s Sugarlane Gibbonback BD & BOB

It was a pleasure to get the opportunity to go over this young dog as he met the bred standard to a tee. His movement was typical of the breed and so sound. He looked a picture on the move with his short straight back, spring of rib and excellent tail carriage. He had a pleasing head with dark round sparkling eyes, high set ears, short muzzle, correct mouth and monkey-like expression. Pleased to see that the group judge agreed with my sentiments and awarded him TG4

2. Macdonald’s Ashiblack Benjamin Button at Zondora RBD

Another quality dog, who was smaller all through than 1st with an attractive head, twinkling dark round eyes, dark pigment and prominent chin. His ribs were well sprung and he moved soundly but tended to drop his tail a little on the move.

3. McEvoy & Pirrie’s Afterglow Bat in the Belfry

Special Beginners Dog

1. Barron’s Dinahtron Bear Faced Cheek BSBIB

See 2nd in PGD

Puppy Bitch (5,1a) This was quite a difficult class to judge as they were all at different stages.

1. Shepherd’s Bayclan Shiny Pippin V Tani Kazari del Avantgarde

I liked the profile on this young bitch who moved soundly and typically; she had dark sparkling eyes, small, high set drop ears and she was square in shape.

2. Wiggins’ Datiro Forgibbon Fruit for Scapafield

Soundly made puppy with lovely eyes and correct expression who would benefit from a little more body; she was a happy girl but lost out to first place on movement.

3. Cairns’ Xora of the Forest Moon at Galicar 4. McCartney’s Datiro Not Gibbonup at Sugarlane

Post Graduate Bitch (4,2a)

1. Eaton’s Cavneredmoor Cosmic

I liked the size and shape of this bitch; she had dark sparkling eyes, high set drop ears and a prominent chin. She had a rough coat and a correct tail set and good tail carriage on the move.

2. McCartney’s Sugarlane Haud Yer Wheesht

Slightly longer in body than first but she was well presented and had dark round eyes and an appealing head. She moved soundly and happily but I would prefer better tail carriage.

Open Bitch (3,0) Two beautiful bitches headed this class and it was a difficult decision between them.

1. Cairns Ch Afterglow Greta Garbage at Galicar BB

After much deliberation I awarded this bitch first place as I preferred her more square shape and length of leg. Confident and outgoing she had lovely dark eyes, monkey like expression, short neck, and good spring of rib. She was not excessively angulated and moved typically and soundly.

2. Pirrie & McEvoy’s Guereza Queen of the Fairies RBB

Another quality bitch who moved with a strutting motion and with excellent tail carriage. She had an attractive head with dark sparkling eyes, black nose and correct dentition. A happy confident girl and I liked her a lot.

3. Eaton’s Cavneredmoor Cosmic
