I would firstly like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge at this wonderful show and for such a lovely day. Thanks also to my stewards who were super-efficient and helpful and to the exhibitors for taking my decisions graciously. I was very pleased with my entry which I felt was of good quality and all temperaments were excellent. As with last time I judged I was disappointed to see so many dirty teeth and I also felt many heads were lacking refinement. Today I found many exhibits that I felt were too large and heavy boned and would like to see chests deeper and with more fill. I feel its important we do not loose the grace & elegance of our breed. It was nice to see some younger exhibitors doing the breed proud with their handling and presentation boding well for the future.
SBD. (2/1A) 1st Watson’s Karamouche Pandamonium A delightful 8 month old raw baby who was presented very well. He has a clean, balanced head with ok ears and good reach of neck. Front needs to develop but he has a nice rear with good stifles and strong topline which he holds well on the move. I would prefer a little more length to him for balance but he is a nice easy free mover with a charming temperament. BSPB
VD (2/0A) 1st Farquharson’s Shanshal Prince of Arabia JW, immaculately presented 7 year old powderpuff with profuse coat. He has a well chiselled and balanced head with strong heavily fringed ears which he used well. Firm body with good balance and strong loin, he moves out well holding a good topline but I would prefer more reach and he was a little proud of his tail today. That said he is in super condition in his senior years and a credit to his owner. 2nd McFarlane’s Shranae Hebu, another 7 year old who was well presented with super texture to coat. Strong but balanced head and has nice flared ears. Front is a little upright which shows in his movement, and body could have more length, but he circuited the ring soundly with good parallel action and another who is a credit to his owner in his senior years.
MPD (1/0A) 1st Watson’s Karamouche Pandamonium As above.
PD (2/0A) 1st Parker’s Doonbeg Mahogany Magic At Khatira beautiful 11 month old who was excellent for bone, size and type. Nice elegant head with good ears but would just like a bit more chiselling under the eyes. Very good neck into ok shoulders leading down into correct hare feet. He is of good length and balance and has a lovely rear with correct tailset. Lovely mover in profile, just needs to develop and tighten up in front but im sure he will have a bright future once settles. 2nd McFarlane’s Because I Love You, 10 month old who was full of mischief today. He is of good size and has a good length upper arm and well let down hocks. Head is a little heavy at present and ears a little low set. It was hard to assess his movement as he was rather full of himself but it was nice to see a puppy enjoying themselves.
JD (3/1A) 1st Moyes, Shaw & Hunter-Ryan’s Bryelis Boys Are Back In Town JW, 15th Month old laced of lovely type, well presented and in firm condition. Alert, expressive head with good muzzle and balance but would prefer a bit less backskull. Very nice arched neck, carried well. Nice balance to body and good, strong rear with correct tailset and tail which he carries well. He is a sound, precise mover who is very attentive to his handler who absolutely gets the very best out of him, I would just prefer more reach and a little less of him all over. RCC and delighted to hear this gave him his crown. 2nd Kempster & Rees’ Apache Red Horse Draczata At Oolagha (CZE Imp) 14th month old powderpuff of lovely correct size and bone who is very elegant. He has nice clean head with dark, expressive eyes and ok ears. Super neck which he carries well and is well bodied with good strong loin. Moves out with pazzaz but just needs to mature and develop in body, but is nice for type. 3rd Seed’s Chundecrest Sir Valentino
ND (3/1A) 1st Gwynne’s Orfeus Crystal Ice Avec Chezic (imp CZE) NAF TAF 16 month old black and white hairless of correct size and with super skin. Expressive head which just needs a bit more refinement but has super ears which he uses well. He has good length to upper arm and a lovely depth to chest, with good balance to body. On the move he was a little exuberant, but drove well from the rear, just needing to settle a little in front. 2. 2nd in PD
PGD (2/0) 1. As 1 in ND. 2. Seeds Chundecrest Sir Valentino, larger than 1 this 16th month old heavily coated powderpuff has a nice head with good balance. His ears could be stronger and used more, but he has a nice dark eye and good pigment. Overall he is well balanced and when he gets going shows decent reach and drive, moving round the ring with a nice free, easy action.
LD (1/0) 1st Moyes’, Shaw & Hunter-Ryan’s Bryelis The Star Man JW 2 year old powderpuff with one of the best heads of the day; well balanced, nicely chiselled with elegant tapering muzzle. He has correct eye shape and colour, a lovely expression and good ears which he uses well. Sound and balanced angulation both ends he has an excellent topline, good ribbing and strong loin which I would just prefer a little less of. Good coat with correct texture and presented well. On the move he drives well from the rear with good width and moves purposefully infront, if a touch wide. He carries and holds himself well at all times and I was delighted to award him the DCC.
OD (4/2A) 1st Farquharson’s Shanshal Man of Steel JW who I have judged as a puppy and who has matured well at nearly 3 years old. He is larger in frame all through than 2, but is well balanced with lovely correct coat immaculately presented. His head, whilst in proportion to the rest of him is too heavy all through for me, although he has good skull to muzzle ratio. He has a decent front with nice tight elbows and a lovely rear with good turn of stifle and adequately let down hocks. He holds and carries his tail correctly on the move and when gets going strides out well. 2. Seed’s Chundecrest Sir Lucifer coming up to 3 year old hairless with super skin and with correct furnishings. He is of a lovely type with correct bone and pushed 1 hard today. Elegant head with good chiselling and proportions, well set ears use well. Nice dark eye but a little round. He has decent length to upper arm but could do with more lay of shoulder and forchest. Super level topline which he holds well, especially on the move. Nice loin but would prefer a better rib for ideal balance and length to body. On the move he is a real showman and looks a picture in side profile just lifts too much in front which cost him the class today.
SBB (1/1A)
VB (3/0A) A super class of veterans 1st Wilsons’ Ch Habiba Chasing Rainbows Nearly 12 years old and of super size and type this bitch had one of the best front constructions of the day. Pretty feminine head with good balance and expression, super ears heavily fringed and correctly set. She is well balanced all through and has lovely low hocks which she uses to drive well from the rear. Carrying a tad too much weight today she nonetheless remains a credit to her owner and won the class on her type and attributes. 2. McFarlane’s Zerachiel Exotic Dancer VW ShCm ShCex another who at nearly 12 years old belies her age. Taller than 1 and lacking the overall balance, she is of nice type with correct bone. Excellent dentition on a balanced head, Good length to upper arm and adequate forechest. Correct hare feet. She moved well in all directions and clearly is still very much enjoying herself. 3. Simpson’s Rominjay Mythical Vogue.

JB (4/1A) 1st Moyes, Shaw & Hunter-Ryan’s Bryelis Talkin Bout My Girl JW 15 month old and litter sister to my RDCC winner, this bitch showed as faultlessly as her brother. Also bigger than I would like, she is however nicely balanced and in super condition. Her head has lovely shaped eyes and expression and good ears which are well fringed and she uses well. Nice neck into ok shoulder and lovely straight front into good feet. Her forechest is starting to develop and she has decent depth to chest for age. Strong, muscled rear which she uses well and good loin with topline held well at all times. On the move she strides out well with an abundance of character. 2. Lyon’s Ch Bryelis Let’s Go Girls Avec Shengson, litter sister to one, this eye catching bitch was presented and shown to perfection. She is of a lovely type, feminine and developing well for her age. Pretty, balanced head with well set and used ears. Nice shaped dark eye and super expression. Nice arched neck and level topline. Rear flows nicely from nicely rounded rump and correct croup and tailset, into sweeping stifle and well let down hocks which she drives well from. Good balance to body, just needs to develop in chest some. On the move she is elegant and precise, however just tends to lift too much in front which cost her the class today. 3. Seed’s Chundecrest Mazikeen Might
NB (3/2A) 1st 3rd in the previous class this young bitch had nice bone and super skin. Elegant well chiselled head, although her eyes are a little round and her ears are not her fortune. Good neck, strong topline, nice croup and tailset. I would like more length and maturity to her body but she moved out soundly, just needs time to mature and settle.
PGB (1/0A) Moyes’, Shaw & Hunter-Ryan’s Bryelis Oops I Lost My Halo 15 month old who gave a good account of herself. Balanced head with good chiselling but a little wide in backskull and ears a little low set. Good neck into decent shoulder with front set well under her. Balanced body with good ribbing, chest will drop with time. Super skin and condition. Steady, sound mover just tends to rise over the loin a little.
LB (2/1A) 1st Bryelis Oh I Wanna Be Famous 15th month who pushed the top winners hard today. Her body is beautifully balanced with super topline and lovely underline, but her head let her down for top honours as lacks refinement and balance. She has a very good front assembly with nice lay of shoulder and moves effortlessly around the ring with good reach and drive.
OB (7/2A) The strongest class of the day chock full of quality which was a pleasure to judge. My two winners scored on size, bone and type and were exactly what I was hoping to find. 1st Rees’ & Kempster’s Ch Oolagha Kristol Ayla JW 3 year old powderpuff of correct size and bone, feminine throughout. Lovely elegant head with good chiselling, balance and correct width to backskull. Good earset and dark eye of nice shape. She has a good spring of rib and brisket which extends to elbows which are tightly held. Nice rear which flows well and gives her good drive from behind, if I was to nitpick I would prefer more reach but today she was a worthy winner of super type. BCC & BOB, 2. Eaton’s Chesnutcres Miss Fammie, Another of lovely type and size and with correct bone, she was feeling the heat a little today which gave 1 the edge. She is so feminine and elegant with a lovely clean, well balanced head and nice expression. Ok neck into nice front assembly and as 1. good depth to chest. Correct Veil coat presented well. I awarded her the RCC last time I judged and was pleased to do so again today. 3. Kirwood’s Bryelis Star A’traction JW
