City Of Birmingham Canine Association

I was honored to be invited to judge at the City of Birmingham Caine Association for my first UK judging assignment. Congratulations to the show management team on an incredibly successful and well run event. Thanks you to my incredible stewards who keep me on track with a smile and a chuckle. And most importantly my appreciation to the exhibitors for sharing their wonderful and much loved dogs with me.  

Special Beginner D (5 competing)

1. Harefoot Align JW NBT owned by Miss Angela Helen Cutts

2. Cherastayne Real Quiet owned by Dr. Conor Shaw Crichton

First in class edged out the second on quality of head and expression, amount of bone and shape and tightness of feet. They had similar outlines but the second dog had a slightly longer loin whereas the first dog had greater length of ribcage.

2. Ch. Trifecta owned by Miss T. Maddox and Mrs. S. Hedgepath

Two handsome older gentlemen offering correct head, eye and ear features. The first dog edged ahead in overall scope of outline, presence and carriage in motion. It was a pleasure to award him the Dog RCC. It was a pleasure to have them both on the day.

2. Jailhouse Rock of Stormship owned by Mr. P Barrow

First puppy had an attractive head, good bone and feet and a lovely outline. The second puppy gave way in head, front construction, and topline. 

Junior D ( 2 competing) 1. Monarchor Chase Your Dream owned by Ms. F. M. Miller & Miss c. Haslam & Mr. M. Haslam First puppy won on quality of head, ears and eyes, good bone and substance, and covering ground well in motion. Post Graduate D ( 5 competing) 1. Ermyn Lionheart owned by Miss Joanne Irene Young 2. Cherastayne Real Quiet owned by Dr. Conor Shaw Crichton First puppy won with an attractive head and eye and overall body construction and substance. Limit D ( 4 competing ) 1. Ellhar Chief Scout owned by Mrs. Ena Ellwood 2. Cottivy Coronation Prince owned by Mrs. Hilary Wyer & Mr. Ray Wyer First dog won on quality of head properties, front and rear construction, and length of outline. Open D (5 competing) 1. Ch. Unita Mentale Ernesto owned by Mrs. Wendy McColl 2. Ch. Twinan Sign Your Name owned by Miss T.J. Irving The first dog is an impressive , upstanding, proud dog with beautiful head, eye, and ear. Lovely arched neck into a solid level back. He presents an attractive outline standing and in motion. I was happy to award him the Dog CC. The second is a handsome dog with good substance, bone and construction. He gave way slightly in head features comparatively and overall outline standing and in motion. Special Beginner B (5 competing) 1. Lasrolyn Dora The Explorer owned by Mrs. Carolyn Ledgar 2. Twinan Raise Your Game JW owned by Ms. Louise Roper The first bitch won on outline and expression. The second bitch has good bone and substance but a lighter eye impacts her expression for my taste. Veteran B (2 competing) 1. Ch. Salvenik Silk Rose for Ellhar owned by Mrs. Ena Ellwood 2. Ch. Salvenik Scarlet Rose owned by Miss T. Maddox Two lovely senior ladies who dripped in type and quality. It was truly splitting hairs between them. Upon completion of the class I was informed they are litter sisters which makes sense and is a tribute to their breeder. Puppy B (8 competing) 1. Twinan Dance To The Beat owned by Miss T.J. Irving 2. Highlashes Hits The Spot owned by Mrs. Rachel Hollingworth Both a pretty young bitches of lovely type. They are very similar in quality of head and expression and overall make and shape. The first bitched edged ahead on the go . Junior B (3 competing) 1. Twinan Rising Star at Highlashes owned by Mrs. Rachel Hollingsworth 2. Stadwen Lucia owned by Miss A.J. Rees Bitches of similar level of quality. The first bitch edged out the second in finish to head details, bone, and overall substance. Post Graduate B (3 competing) 1. Twinan Raise Your Game JW owned by Ms. Louise Roper 2. Twinan Raise A Glass for Handialla owned by Mr. Bob Hall & Mrs. Diana Hall Similar in overall quality. The second bitch gave way in strength of topline and efficiency in motion. Limit B ( 6 competing ) 1. Monarchor Lady Love JW owned by Mrs. Kim Warner 2. Saniaquinto That's Amore JW owned by Ms. Lisa Maria Franchi First is a quality bitch with lovely head, ear, and eye. She possesses good bone and nice body substance throughout. The second bitch is of very similar quality throughout but gave way slightly in topline and efficiency in motion. Open B (9 competing) 1. Ch. Penliath Bill Me Later owned by Miss N. L. Blance & Mrs. C.B. Blance 2. Swiss Dutch HR It Rom Ch. Y Draig Goch Vermillion owned by Ms. M. E. Bergmann These two bitches are exceptional. The first bitch oozes femininity and class. Gorgeous head and eye. Her outline offers perfect proportions with balance fore and aft. Her arched neck flows into a level back which maintains solidly in motion as she floats around the ring. She was presented beautifully. It was a pleasure to award her the Bitch CC as well as Best of Breed. I was thrilled to see her go on to win the Group. The second bitch has a commanding presence and is very eye-catching. Beautiful outline, attractive head and eye, excellent bone and substance. She is energized and athletic in motion. Also presented beautifully. She gave way slightly on the go being not quite as fluid in motion as the first bitch. Well deserving of acknowledgment as the Bitch RCC.
