I would like to thank the Crufts Committee for inviting me to judge our lovely breed at this most prestigious show. It was such a privilege, A once in a lifetime experience and I enjoyed every minute of it. My two hard working stewards did a marvellous job of keeping the ring moving forward so I could finish on time. I was pleasantly surprised (and delighted) with the large quality entry when the ESS entries during the past year have been disappointing low, let’s hope they are now on the up. My biggest thanks is to the exhibitors for their hard work preparing the dogs, for travelling great distances so I could have the pleasure of going over them and for taking my decisions in a sporting manner.

Both the Open dog and bitch classes showcased many high-quality examples of the breed, leading to several close decisions, with performance being a significant factor.

1ST 13297 - Multi Ch Timanka´s Expensive Money Ew21 (Miss V Borregaard Madsen) – 7yr old fully mature l/w dog who really filled my eye. Classic type, super outline, balanced & sound throughout. Masculine head without any coarseness with lovely dark eye. Wonderful layback of shoulder and good length of leg giving him that lovely front action on the move. Standing on the best of legs with ample bone and neat feet. Well-muscled hindquarters and short clean hocks. In superb coat & condition and thoroughly deserved to take the RCC in tough competition.

2ND 13421 - Sh Ch Dexbenella Atticus Finch ShCEx VW (Mr S P & Mrs W M Walker) – a worthy Sh Ch with such a handsome head and soft expression. Mature in body, super bone and feet, strong in loin and quarters. A joy to watch moving freely round the ring and still in tip top condition

1ST 13298 - Daenerys Playing with Fire (Mrs K Allery) –this 8 mth young l/w boy was well boned & in proportion, with a good head and clean in neck and shoulder. Movement was a little erratic and he was proud of his tail today but can be forgiven at this stage of his development.

1ST 13381 - Forgespring Tomfoolery (Mrs C E & Mr P J Turrell) – 9 mth b/w pup developing nicely with a lovely outline, balanced in head with dark eye and good expression, depth of body right for age, level topline good bone and feet, nice bend of stifle and neat hocks. Steady and happy on the move, well handled.

2ND 13402 - Gleadsbury Whataboy at Mujascal (Miss J A Such) – good body and substance to this youngster who moved out well round the ring. Just a touch plainer in head and lighter in eye than 1 but still has plenty of time to come.

1ST 13346 - Teignvalley New Beginnings (Mrs C Hill) – beautifully presented b/w with a refined head that was carried so proudly on the move. Clean in neck and shoulder, straight forelegs and neat feet. strong over the loin giving a super level topline. He moves soundly when gets into a steady stride.

2ND 13324 - Lordsett Born to Be Yours (Mrs H Danailova) – close up to 1, another quality youngster, I liked his size and shape. Nice masculine head with dark eye. Presented in good condition and moved soundly with good tail action.

3RD 13414 - Whizzbang's The Power of Love (Mrs A & Miss A Tostmann)

1ST 13366 - Peasblossom Changes (Mr & Mrs D Mitchell) – young male in a gleaming dark liver jacket with a clean and flowing outline so typical of this kennel. Nicely moulded head, excels in shoulder placement. Good depth to body and spring of rib. Strong quarters giving him good width behind. Was sound in movement and held his topline.

2ND 13419 - Angel Charm Juodos Sarkos (Mrs S. Gudunskiene) – Another quality dog but he didn’t have the maturity of 1. Loved the work in his head and dark expressive eye, clean over the shoulders and nice straight front. Compact body with adequately angulated quarters and lovely short hocks. Needs to settle more on the move.

1ST 13364 - Gleadsbury It Is Destiny for Anacapa (Mrs H Merry) – 2 yr old l/w of good size and body proportions. Balanced in head but would like a darker eye but he still has time on his side. Well laid shoulders, good depth of chest and strong quarters that he used well on the move. In excellent coat and condition.

1ST 13415 - Beresford On My Way with Acregate (Miss J J Tracz) – a quality dog in immaculate coat and condition, a credit to his owner. Pleasing & balanced head, super neck and shoulders, good spring of ribs, body of good proportions with lovely strong rear quarters. Took advantage of the big ring to get into his stride and moved soundly.

2ND 13423 - Dexbenella It's Only Me (Mr S P & Mrs W M Walker) – there was a lot to like about this b/w dog, I loved his outline, so balanced with a good reach of neck and nice body proportions. Correct angulation both front and back, deep chest, strong topline which he carried well on the move and presentation was top notch.

1ST 13369 - Sh Ch/slo/cro Ch Peasblossom Xanti (Mr & Mrs D Mitchell) –Felt he had filled out since I last judged him and is now in his prime and asking for top honours. His head is superb, balanced, chiselled and with a refined skull together and dark melting eyes. Good reach of neck and excellent layback of shoulder. Well ribbed body with short couplings. Glorious legs and feet with excellent hindquarters, nicely muscled. Moved with style and accuracy. He never put a foot wrong in the class or challenge and was pleased to award him the CC & finally BOB and thought he did a great job in the main arena representing the breed.

2ND 13293 - Dk/nord Ch Sieger´s Crocodile Rock Ww'21 (Miss V Borregaard Madsen) – I found him so well constructed. He’s masculine in every way, well off for bone and substance and stands on neat feet. Wonderfully balanced outline, strong well angulated quarters used very well on the move to drive from behind and had that free action with a super length of stride which seems to be a trademark of this kennel. Presented in super condition.

2ND 13305 - Cuandor Superstition Wgc Ftaw (Dr A Mccarthy) – more typical of working type, head a little broad in skull but with a dark kind eye, good spring of ribs and well-muscled hind quarters. Confident and powerful on the move.

2ND 13401 - Carlyquinn Captain Ross at Mujascal JW (Miss J A Such) – built on bigger lines than the winner but nicely balanced throughout and with good angulation fore and aft. A positive mover and shown in lovely condition.

1ST 13352 - Ir Sh Ch Clentonian Pandemonium JW ShCEx OSW VW (Mrs M Hydon) – utterly feminine and elegant 8 yr old b/w bitch in superb coat and condition. Pretty moulded head with dark eye and a kind expression. Lovely clean outline that shows off her neck and shoulders. Very balanced and symmetrical in the body, with a good topline and tail set. Moved well.

2ND 13434 - Potrail Turns The Swag On for Pinereoch (Ms L & Mrs A H Wilson & Connor) – built on stronger lines than 1, this 7yr old l/w was full of breed type. Head of good proportions with lovely expressive eyes. Good substance and bone. Nice strong hindquarters with plenty of width behind. Powerful and sound mover at one with her handler.

1ST 13373 - Daenerys Girl On Fire at Dexbenella TAF (Mr L E Nicklin) – 8 mth l/w girl with plenty of promise. Pleasing head, balanced with good square muzzle. I would prefer a cleaner throat but she excels in neck and shoulder, giving a flowing outline. Well bodied for age with good proportions. Nicely angulated hindquarters. She moved soundly and with the assurance of one with much more experience. Shown in lovely condition and well handled. BP

1ST 13410 - Beresford Stand On Ceremony (Mrs T E Topliss) – sweet 9mth l/w girl with a stylish and racy outline. Balanced and feminine in head with a square muzzle and low ear set but needs the finishings which will come with time. Nicely arched neck and good lay of shoulder. Body of good depth and proportions. Moved confidently and freely in front but a bit erratic behind today.

2ND 13417 - Meonstoke Wild Cherry at Harvancourt (Miss T & Mrs J Turvey & Murray) – another nice puppy who is developing well. Pleasing head and eye. strong neck, good straight front with deep chest. Balanced moderate angulation both front and back.

3RD 13344 - Daenerys Winter Solstice at Fecimus NAF TAF (Mr J & Miss A Harrison & Macbain)

Sieger's Shabby Chic (Miss V Borregaard Madsen) – young l/w girl with lovely construction, really liked her outline, so balanced with a reachy neck and well laid shoulder. Super bone and legs with neat tight feet. Nice proportions to head but eye still to darken. Excellent side gait as she went round the ring with a free-flowing movement.

2ND 13347 - Teignvalley Rags to Riches (Mrs C Hill) – young b/w girl in pristine condition. Racy and clean in outline. Very feminine in head with a good dark eye but still needs to finish. Nicely proportioned body with depth and good bone. She had nice width to her rear quarters which was used well on the move but felt she didn’t have the reach in front of the winner today.

3RD 13321 - Sieger’s See Eye to Eye with Trimere (Imp Dk) NAF (Mrs A Corbett)

1ST 13319 - Elazlan Coronation Day JW (Miss E Chandler) - liked this l/w girl for her overall size and shape, so clean in outline with a lovely arched neck and good shoulders. Straight nicely boned forelegs with excellent tight feet. level topline, compact body with short couplings. Good hindquarters with short well let down hocks. A positive mover.

2ND 13339 - Plaiglen One Last Time (Ms F Glendinning) – very feminine bitch of good substance and type. Pretty nicely worked head. Straight front, with lovely boned legs and the best of feet. Liked her body proportions and depth to chest. Good rear angulation. Sound on the move and shown in sparkling condition. Feel she has still more to come.

1ST 13342 - Melverly Amy Dorrit with Coastalglows (Mrs J L Harris) – smart b/w who is out of a mould I so like. Lovely size with a clean flowing outline. Beautiful head with plenty of working, Dark eye with soft expression. Good depth to the chest and spring of rib. Firm in topline and correct angulation the hindquarters with neat hocks. Has super bone and substance but still utterly feminine. Moved well but needed a little more oomph and sparkle in the challenge. I’m sure her day will come.

2ND 13354 - Peasblossom Aura at Felltops (Mr N J & Mrs S L Joyce) – this girl has really blossomed since I last saw her. Lovely appealing head with nice chiselling and a soft expression. Good front assembly and length of leg. Beginning to fill out her ribs and strong over the loin. Hard muscle tone to her rear quarters. Moved soundly with lovely tail action. Super presentation completed the picture.

1ST 13422 - Dexbenella Double or Quit (Mr S P & Mrs W M Walker) – this b/w girl is the one that made my heart sing. Very typy and feminine and in the most lovely coat and condition. Her size and flowing outline caught my eye when she entered the ring and luckily, she did not disappoint when I went over her. She has the prettiest of heads with the required chiselling and good eye shape and colouring giving her a kind expression. Excellent body proportions with balanced angulation fore & aft. Standing on the best of legs and feet. She enjoyed the large ring and moved well from all angles. I was delighted to award her first CC.

2ND 13345 - Peasblossom Tupelo Honey with Teignvalley (Mrs C Hill) – a quality b/w/t bitch who I’ve never seen look better. Feminine head with plenty of work and the most appealing expression in her dark hazel eyes. Shapely body with good substance and shown in super condition. Stylish on the move but a tad close behind today.

Quality appealing b/w head with ample fluting and chiselling and dark hazel eye. Good in neck and shoulder with a super topline. Well-developed body and superb rear quarters with excellent muscle tone and neat hocks. Moved with style and confidence. RCC

2ND 13316 - Sh Ch Calvdale Flutter JW (Mr & Mrs M Calvert) – Good well chiselled head with a lovely dark eye colour. I particularly liked her reach of neck and nicely assembled shoulder. Level topline, short coupled and mature in body. Great width to her quarters. Had good rear drive on the move. Beautifully prepared and handled.

1ST 13329 - Fr Ch Felicitous Unique Swift Jch (Mrs Pg Floremont Godenir) – l/w bitch of the right size. Head of nice proportions with soft eye expression. Good length of neck into firm topline. Decent forehand construction and pleasing depth to chest. Nicely rounded quarters with good tail set. Moved well and shown in good condition.

2ND 13384 - Streamside's Ladybird Quincegrove (Mrs V L Payne) – much more working in type than1 with a broader skull. Good legs and feet, level in topline with strong quarters that could do a good day’s work. Although short on coat it was in gleaming condition.

1ST 13301 - Int/multi Ch Okka vom Belauer See (S Arendt) – lovely type of bitch not overdone in any way, feminine well worked head with dark hazel eye and soft expression, good straight front and spring of rib, mature in body with correct rear angulation. Nicely presented and sound on the move.

2ND 13379 - Dandy Land Sail to The Moon (Mrs Otto-Doppenberg) – only 18 mth of age and still got some maturing to do. Nice balanced head, eye needs to darken. Clean over shoulders, firm topline and good strength to her hindquarters. A positive mover shown in firm condition.
