My thanks to the brilliant committee of this Society for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. It’s been a long 4 years wait since the invitation but so well worth it! My two excellent efficient stewards, Ray Morland and Pat Dufty ensured the ring ran smoothly and many thanks must go to them. I was delighted with my entry, and a huge thank you to the lovely exhibitors who took all my decisions in good part.

All dogs shown were in good condition, A couple were a tad well covered but nothing to overly worry about. Generally good dentition with a couple of exceptions. . Coats were mostly harsh and all were clean!

Liver and Tan. Really enjoying his day out. Broad skull, good eye colour toning with coat. Decent angulation and moved out ok. Would like more of him.

Liver and Tan. Very masculine. Lovely dark liver colouring with toning eye. Broad head leading to good length of neck. Well ribbed. Good tailset. Very well off for bone. In super condition, well muscled and moved well.

Homer’s Barleydust Noel Fox

16 month B/T. Lovely correctly tipped ears, head in good proportions . Good dentition. Well laid shoulders and good spring of rib. In good coat. Moved a little close behind. Slightly unsettled on table unfortunately.

Splitting hairs over these two today

1. Grant-Parkes’s Parabar Posy’s Pawnee

Dense black with rich tan. Strong head with good dentition. Nice ear placement. Good reach of neck. Plenty of bone. Well ribbed, maybe a tad long in loin. Lacked drive for me today.

2. Cutler’s Lankeela Jack Daniels

Smart cheeky chap. Lovely tipped ears and dark eye. Good neck leading into well laid shoulder, held a nice topline in profile and moved with drive. Sadly only the lack of his ‘crown jewels’ lost him the class today.

1. Grant-Parkes’s Parabar Posy’s Pawnee

As PGD

2. Hughes’s Poolheywood Barney JW

Smart B/T lad. Has a nice head and neck. Slightly longer in leg and loin than breed standard asks for. Superbly schooled and at one with his handler he moved powerfully round the ring

1. Thwaite and Thwaite’s Ch Ribblespride Crakemoor

I’ve admired this lovely boy since a pup, and was so pleased to have the chance to go over him today. He certainly didn’t disappoint. Lovely head with almond shape eyes and good reach of neck leading to well laid shoulder. Excellent spring of rib and short coupled. Good tail set and carriage. Well muscled – he powered around the ring today. What a delight! Delighted to award him the CC and BOB.

2. Dawes’s Leyeside Mr Wilds at Daweslean

Fabulous coat and colouring on this boy. Excellent dentition. Good head planes. Well proportioned though slightly shorter in leg than I would normally like, his movement was superb today earning him the RCC

3. McBride’s Utthanshavan Wolf Moon Man

Fairest’s Ch Henson Fairest Lad

9 ½ years young , this happy chap certainly not showing his age. Good earset, and used them very well. Well shaped head and correct scissor bite. He’s on the larger side of breed standard, but nevertheless, moved very smartly keeping a lovely level topline on the move. Pushed hard for the RCC.

2(0) Close up class – would have liked more substance to both of these lovely girls, who both appeared to have first class temperaments.

1. Hancocks and Bailey’s Selestar Lemon Drizzle

Quite a slight black and tan bitch, would just like more of her overall. Feminine head with good dentition. Tad long in leg and loin.

2. Turnbull’s Droversrock Tigers Eye

Lovely dark liver and tan with pleasing toning eye, good head and scissor bite. Moved ok in profile, but close behind going away.

Fairest’s Skipest Summer Breeze

1. I’ve liked this girl from a pup, but she’s definitely her own worst enemy in the ring! Today was a good day, and although a bit unsettled on the table, she came through and showed some real quality when she put her mind to it. She’s compact and well proportioned. Nice head and reach of neck, good forechest, well laid shoulder, good spring of rib and short coupled. When she settled on the floor her movement was first class. Delighted to award her the BCC

2. Cutler’s Lankeela Frosty Knickers

Beautiful tipped ears on this pretty girl. Correct head planes and good scissor bite. Nice and compact and held topline well on the move. Just preferred the overall picture of 1, but could easily change place on another day.

3. Grant-Parkes’s Parabar Monkey Puzzle

1. Thwaite and Thwaite’s Ch Ribblespride Ladytron

Smart 7 year old Black and Tan who took the class on her movement today. Compact, with a good forechest, nice spring of rib and good angulation . Feminine head with dark almond eye. Held topline all the way as she moved out smartly.

2. Davies Mrs M’s Taigwynion Freya Sadie in Ronleydon

Most pleasing liver and tan colouring on this girl. Used her ears well at all times. She has good spring of rib and angulation, slightly longer in loin than I would like, but held a good topline. Just showed herself slightly better in the final go round to clinch 2nd here.

3. Cutler’s Lankeela Frosty Knickers

4. Grant-Parkes’s Parabar Monkey Puzzle
