I would like to thank the committee of Border Union for inviting me to judge their anniversary show, to all the exhibitions that allowed me to judge their dogs and to my 2 stewards, Pam & Judy for keeping the ring flowing.

Before the appointment I was asked by the RKC to refer to the Breed Watch for the Rottweiler and the particular issues that are starting to appear being Excessive short muzzle, issues with eyes and rear quarters.

What I found overall is good muzzle length but we are getting more and more round eye, rear over angulation and also long in body.

I was please with my main winners and temperaments overall were excellent.

1ST 2565 - Taneven Danjo (Mrs J & Mr T Bradley) - Lovely young male of excellent type with correct head proportions, dark almond eye, well set medium size ear and a calm gaze. Correct bite with good pigment colour. Neck was well arched flowing into level topline and good tail carriage and correct underline. Moderately angled and moved out well.

2ND 2599 - Chantavory's Wonder Boy (Miss C A Moss) - Another youngster of good type with good overall proportions, correct size ears on an attractive head and strong neck. Nice picture on the stand but movement let him down today, he was very loose.

1ST 2578 - Javladare Mr Boombastic (Mrs Kg Denver-Smith) - strong powerful male for one so young. Good head proportions and a nice dry top skull, dark to medium eye of a good shape, ears of good size set correctly and lying close to the cheek. Good bite but would like darker mouth pigment. Correct body proportion correct underline. Solid topline both static and on the mover with an excellent open gait.

1ST 2580 - Annicia Black Diamond (Mr M & Mrs A English) - Medium size male of good proportion. Dark eye of correct shape, medium well-set ears and a calm gaze. Correct bite with mottled flews. Well arched neck flowing on to a level top line and good tail carriage. Moved out well with good reach and drive.

Correct bite with good pigment colour. Well arched strong neck flowing into a level topline. Strong compact feet with good slope to pastern. Good tail carriage both static and on the mover.

1ST 2579 - Bereyda The Real Defender JW (Miss D & Ms E Egerton & Sutcliffe) - Large powerfully built male of good proportions with a good head shape, dark correct shape eye and a correct bite with dark pigment. Strong neck into level topline and correct tail held on the move. Strong compact feet with well arched toes. Moved out well with good reach, drive and energy, shown in excellent condition.

2ND 2586 - Upend Ellison at Kassmax (Mr M T & Mrs M Gee) - Another good size and powerful male, super head with dark eye and correct bite Strong neck into level top line, good open gait but would prefer a lower tail on the move.

3RD 2558 - Nageem Cukier (Mrs J & Mr N Abell)

1ST 2587 - Rhodilea Celtic Warrior (Mr N & Mrs J Greener) - – Medium to large size male of good proportions and well off for bone. Dark almond shape eye with medium close-set ears and the most pleasing expression. Correct head proportions with a well-defined stop and a good broad deep muzzle, correct bite. Well arched neck of good length flowing into a level topline with correctly set on tail, level underline making a very pleasing silhouette. Super effortless open gait holding together well displaying great balance. Very full of himself, he made his handler work hard for it today, but I was very pleased to award him the CC and BOB.

2ND 2563 - Ch Dortmund Dizzy Rascal (Mr N & Miss L & Mrs C Bateson & Hoole & Clark) - judged this boy a couple of years ago and was impressed with him back then, a very pleasing head, dark almond shape eye giving a lovely calm gaze, correctly set and proportioned ears adding to a very pleasing picture. Good mouth with dark flews. Neck well arched flowing into a level topline with correct tail carriage and correct underline. Moved out well holding together on the move. To be critical I would like clearer marking on the front legs. Please to award him the RCC.

2ND 2591 - Vitalparas American Dream at Bendrago (Misses A & K Handy & Sobota) - Another male presented in good condition, correct bite and good head proportions, well arched neck into a level top line. Moved out well.

Well arched neck of good length, correct length of body, feet compact with well arched toes, good tail carriage both static and on the move, moved out well for age. Coat of correct texture and colour, pleased to award her BPIB.

Well arched neck of good length flowing into a level topline that was held on the move with a correct tail carriage and a strong open gait. Correct coat.

2ND 2560 - Rottsworth My Girl von Stairvale (Mr A & Miss W Baillie & Topping) - Well presented youngster with a pleasant head and dark eye. Well arched neck into strong topline, good free movement with a strong gait.

Correct dentition with dark flews. Clean neck of good length which flows into level topline that was held both on the move and when static, Correct tail set and carriage, correct coat of good colour. Moved out with drive. Well-handled and presented pleased to award her RBCC.

2ND 2607 - Jezeve Hot Tottie (Mrs L & Mrs R Watts & Gibbard) - Another good size female with a pretty head and dark almond shape eye, good size well set ear. Correct mouth with dark flews. Neck well arched of correct length flowing into a level topline followed by a correct set and carried tail. Feet compact with well arched toes. Moderately angled moved out very well around the ring.

Well arched neck of good length flowing into a level topline with a good tail carriage to finish. Good angles front and rear enabling a good strong gait covering the ground effortlessly whilst holding her super outline at all times Correct coat and colour. Pleased to award her BCC.

2ND 2595 - Jhava Pure Magic at Rhodilea (Mrs H Mccreadie) - Attractive female with a head of correct proportions, lovely dark eye and medium well-set ears. Correct bite and dark flews. Strong neck of good length, level topline held on the move with good tail set and carriage. Correct coat.

Covered the ground well whilst maintaining her shape. 

2ND 2562 - Upmont Gypsy Roma (Mr N & Miss L Bateson & Hoole) - Large female of excellent breed type, a strong head with dark almond shape eye giving the desired calm gaze medium close-set ears and correct dentition with dark flews. Clean neck well arched of good length flowing into a level topline which is held at all times. Correct feet with well arched toes. Well-handled and moved effortlessly around the ring.
