Scottish Kennel Club

Breed: Spaniel (English Springer)

An enjoyable appointment. Many thanks to Elaine, my steward for keeping things moving, ensuring we completed judging in decent time. Pleased to see my BP go on to get placed in a strong Puppy Group.

Puppy Dog (6,2)

1 Jenkinson’s Eastriding Royal Gold

Lovely headed L/W of 9 months. Good reach of neck leading to well boned straight front of good width. Well ribbed for his age with decent depth of chest. He has a firm top line and correct set on of tail. Well angulated quarters enabled him to move to advantage. Best Puppy. I will follow his progress.

2 Tolliday’s Chanangel Yorkshire Ale with Bethersden

Another promising L/w of 9 months with lots to like. Well shaped head with clean lines and good reach of neck. Good spring of rib and firm couplings. He has enough bend of stifle and is short from hock to heel. He moved well in profile.

3 Casey and Jayes’ Sandylands Say When

1 Weyman’s More Than Amazing Wanna Be A Gangster at Spuffing

Balanced in head with correct stop and good ear placement. Strong in neck and well boned through. He has a firm level top line and is well rounded over his quarters. Well-muscled thighs. He moved with freedom and enthusiasm, covering the ring with ease.

Limit Dog (4) A strong class which eventually produced my CC and RCC winners.

1 Calvert’s Calvdale with Respect

I felt that this 2-year-old L/W boy fitted the bill today. Well-proportioned head with work below his eyes and good stop. Clean neck of good length leads to nicely sloping shoulders. He has good width to his front without being coarse or overdone He is well developed in chest with correct depth and good length to his ribs. Firm couplings and correct tail set help to give a balanced outline. He has well-turned stifles and was shown in good coat, well presented. He moved well here and in the challenge to win the CC.

2 Tracz’s Beresford On My Way with Acregate

Another top quality two year old L/W boy. Full of quality and close up to the winner. Well shaped head with good eyes and ear placement. Strong neck leads to sloping shoulders. He too, is well ribbed and in good body condition. He is strong over the loin and has good width to his quarters. He moved well away and in profile. I just felt the winner was a little tidier coming back to me. Nevertheless a top class exhibit. De3served the RCC, his first.

3 Scourgie and McNicol’s Pinereoch Mischief Maker

Open Dog (3)

1 Wilson and Connor’s Sh Ch Pinereoch No Stunts Larrie

Really liked the traditional type of this boy. Worthy Champion carrying the same affix as my RBCC winner. Balanced in head with good length of muzzle and typical expression. Clean arched neck and well placed shoulders. He has good depth to his body and a firm level top line. Good rear angulation provides a balance to his outline. He moved well enough but showed more drive when steadied.

2 Darling’s Elazlan Billy Kimber

Mature b/w showing a good outline on the stack. Lovely head with defined stop and good eye colour and ears lying close to his neck. Well ribbed through with both length and depth. Good rear angulation with defined second thigh and hocks let down well. Well presented in super coat and condition

Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog (1)

1 Eastfalla Sherlockholmes

Puppy Bitch (6,2) As with the PD class, it was good to see some promising youngsters at the start of their careers, it will be interesting to watch them develop.

1 Nicklin’s Daenerys Girl On Fire at Dexbenella

Had to be on good form to win this and she was! At 10 months, she has a good head which will get even better as it breaks. Clean neck of good length leads to well boned correct front. Well ribbed for her age and firm in top line, she has a good tail set. She is strong and well angulated behind. She moved tidily here. Should go on to do well.

2 Jenkinson’s Eastriding Royal Style

Litter sister to my BP looking so well here. L/W with good head and expression. She has a strong neck of good length and good layback of shoulder. Balanced in body with a correct top line and tail set. She has good width to her quarters.

3 Havard’s Annavah Ablaze

Junior Bitch (2,1)

1 Corbett’s Sieger’s See Eye to Eye with Trimere

At 14 months is developing along the right lines. Her head needs to break but is not

overdone so should end up well. Strong neck with good layback of shoulder. She is well bodied with width, depth and length to her ribs giving the desired heart room. She has well angulated quarters with well-defined second thigh and is short form hock to heel. Straight and true on the move. Should mature nicely.

Yearling Bitch (1)

1 Cokell’s Carlyquinn Winter Storm

Rising 2 and looking so well today. Full of breed type and lots to like here. Balanced head of correct shape with good eyes and low set ears. She has a clean neck and her front has enough width with nicely tucked in elbows. Well ribbed and firm top line give the correct balance of body. She is strong over her quarters and moved well once checked, carrying her tail correctly.

Post Graduate Bitch (7)

1 Havard’s Annavah Aquarius

So honest and good to go over, this two-year-old is true to type and has plenty to commend her. Well-shaped head with broad nose and good length of muzzle. Strong and balanced in body whilst retaining her femininity. She has a good top line and tail set which was held on the move. She did take a little time to settle but then showed both extension and drive.

2 Unwin’s Allenies Lady Marmalade

This 3 year old L/W also has a lot going for her but just lost out on movement to the winner today. Well-shaped head with kind expression and good reach of neck., She has well laid shoulders and is correct in front with well boned legs. She has strong quarters and moved truly but did not see the extension in profile of the winner.

3 Bellamy’s Dexbenella in My Dreams with Moontorn

Limit Bitch (4,1)

1 Chandler’s Elazlan Coronation Day

Lovely L/W, only two years old and still to reach her prime. Good head with work beneath her eyes and defined stop. Strong clean neck of good length. Well boned legs and on good feet. Balanced body giving correct outline. Well-developed quarters with good muscle tone. She was well presented in good coat and moved to advantage.

2 Cox’ Tiroen to Have and to Hold

Found this one a little longer cast standing but she definitely came into her own on the move. Showing a free easy movement but demonstrating both reach and drive at the same time. Typical head with good eyes and kind expression. She is well put together with good ribs and rear angulation.

3 Rose’s Pinereoch Amethyst of Rosannoch

Open Bitch (4.1)

1 Corbett’s Sh Ch Trimere Time Flys

Well grown but so good to go over, everything just flowing through from her head to her quarters. She has a very correct head with well proportioned skull and well placed ears. Clean neck of good length flows into well laid shoulders. Her front is of good width without showing any excess. Well ribbed and carrying plenty of body. She is firm in back and well coupled giving correct balance. Her quarters are well developed with good bend of stifle and hocks are nicely let down. She moved well especially in profile. CC and Best of Breed.

2 Smith’s Sh Ch Melverly Vignette

Different type to the winner but still a worthy Champion with plenty to like. Lovely head with correct stop and decent length of muzzle. She has dark brown eyes and well set ears. Strong in neck and correct in front, she has sloping shoulders and good width to her ribs. There is plenty of rear angulation and she moved straight and true.

3 Calvert’s Sh Ch Calvdale Flutter

Veteran Bitch (1)

1 Wilson and Connor’s Potrail Turns The Swag On for Pinereoch

I really liked the type and style of this seven-year-old. Caught my attention straight away. Classic head proportions with that typical expression and super temperament. She is well constructed through with good angulation, fore and rear. She has well developed ribs and is in super condition. She moved really well both ways. I awarded her the RCC and Best Veteran. I subsequently was delighted to learn that this gave her, her title and that I had awarded her the RCC from Junior 6 years earlier. Quality obviously lasts!!

Special Beginners Bitch (2,1)

1 Allenies Lady Marmalade moving better here and gave a more balanced picture. Best SB.
