I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Scottish Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club for their hospitality and the gift presented on the day. The event was exceptionally well organised, and the favourable weather added to its success. Thank you to my stewards who assisted me throughout the day.

I feel as a breed we are losing bone and substance there is also a distinct lack of rib! As breeders and exhibitors, I feel we need to be mindful of this in future breeding programs. In regard to the exhibits, I appreciate your entries and your acceptance of my judgements in a sportsmanlike manner. It is important to acknowledge that the fitness of an exhibit can significantly influence the outcome, especially in closely contested classes.

Minor Puppy Bitch (2, 1 ab)

1st: Mrs F P Cook- Eclipsebulls Night Queen

Brindle and white, strong headed bitch, nice dark eye, well of for bone for her age, a good amount of rib, correct rear angulation, she moved ok when settled.

Puppy Bitch (2)

1st: Mr K & Mrs L Wells- Wellssstaffs Shine a Light

Black brindle and white, this bitch has a lovely expression, with a feminine head, she has a dark eye, and correct scissor bite, she has a good depth to her brisket, and she moved ok. BPB & BPIS

2nd: Mrs F P Cook- Eclipsebulls Night Queen

Junior Bitch (9, 1 ab)

1st: Mr P T & Mrs E A Stanway- Waystaff Causing Mayhem

Red and white pied, standard size, with a feminine head, lovely dark eye, with a good expression, correct front, with a pleasing amount of rib, she has a level topline, which she held on the move. Good rear angulation, which allowed her to move with drive, I did consider her for the RCC, I`m sure her time will come.

2nd: Mr G Addison- Hammystaff Shape of You at Gayad

Red and white pied, this bitch has a lovely strong, yet feminine head, typical expression, a dark eye, clean flews, she has a correct front, with a good amount of rib, I just preferred 1st rear angulation.

3rd: Mr A Mortimar- Manorstaff For my Nellie

Brindle bitch, strong, clean feminine head, alert expression, open nares, she has a cracking front on her, leading to a deep brisket, well off for rib, she has a good amount of bone, she has a level topline which she held on the move, when she settled she moved with drive. Just lost out today on fitness.

Yearling Bitch (10, 1 ab)

1st: Mr J D & Mrs S M Hammond- CH Hammystaff Hot Love JW

Red and white pied, a strong but feminine bitch, with plenty of bone which is a pleasure to see. She has a wide front, with depth to her brisket, she has a good amount of rib, and correct rear angulation, she moved with drive.

2nd: Mr T B Taylor, Mrs D Taylor, Mr R Coomes & Mrs K Coomes- Fredbur Gogo Yubari at Niatona

Black brindle and white, standard size, feminine head, with a lovely expression, straight front, with enough fore chest, a good amount of rib , she moved well, just preferred the bone on 1st

3rd: Mr A & Mrs G Duncan- Rhebelstaff Hunky Dory

Brindle and white, standard size, with a lovely typical head, she has a correct front, just enough brisket, leading to a pleasing amount of rib, she has correct rear angulation, and moved ok

Novice Bitch (6)

1st: Mrs J Matthews- Janjoma Hearts Desire

Black brindle, she has a feminine head, distinct stop, dark eye, she has a straight front, enough rib, short coupled , she moved out ok.

2nd: Dr S Smith- Koko The Queen

Black brindle and white, different style to 1st, she has a good straight front, and open nares, eyes were dark, she has good rear angulation, her fitness was a credit to her and her owner.

3rd: Miss B Wilson & Mr I Sutherland- Baalzstarz Roxys Zuban

Brindle and white, this girl was top sized, her expression was keen and alert, she had a good amount of bone, a correct front, with enough rib, moved ok.

Graduate Bitch (9)

1st: Mr P & Mrs J Moffat- Glensskyra Arran Aurora For Kargonstaffs JW

Black brindle bitch, she has a feminine head, dark eye, distinct stop, good cheek bumps, she has a correct front, and enough brisket, just enough rib, she is in fit condition, level topline held on the move.

2nd: Mrs F Shepherd- Ladarna Glen Isla For Blairstaffs

Black brindle, with a feminine head, would prefer more width to muzzle, she has a correct front, which leads to a good amount of brisket, and plenty of rib, she moved well.

3rd: Messrs A & D & Mesdames G & K Jones- Rougestaff Red Velvet JW

Red and white pied, standard size, with a head of correct proportions, she has a good expression, plenty of bone, straight front, and bags of rib, lovely to see, just a shame she was unsettled on the move.

Post Graduate Bitch (4)

1st: Miss J Winrow & Miss N Greaves-Jayneze Ramona

Black brindle, with a clean feminine head, distinct stop, with a dark eye, clean flews, open nares, she has correct shoulder angulation, correct front, enough brisket, she has a good amount of rib, level topline held on the move, she is a quality bitch, I would just like a bit more all round.

2nd: Mrs J & Mr Haworth- Aixit Rosie Bluebell

Black brindle, stronger than 1st, she has a good expression, which she uses well, straight front, enough bone, with a good amount of rib, she moved ok.

3rd: Mrs V Sloka- Alport Dark Queen of Arkenstaff

Black brindle, standard sized, she has a strong yet feminine head, lovely expression, dark eye, correct front, with enough brisket, and good amount of rib, she moved well, just carrying a bit of weight today.

Limit Bitch (9)

A class with top draw bitches in, who could have changed places on another day.

1st: Miss G L Rowe & Mr D South- Illori Constellation JW

Black brindle bitch , who is standard sized, balanced from every angle, put down in fit hard condition, this is a credit to her owner, she has a clean feminine head, distinct stop, dark eye, open nares, clean flews, lovely keen expression which she uses well, correct front, good amount of rib, short coupled , level topline which she held on the move, BCC and on referee`s decision BIS

2nd: Mr G & Mrs T Owen- Tagstane Terrors Clasp

Brindle and white, standard size bitch who ticked the boxes for me, a good amount of bone, balanced from every angle, lovely head shape with neat rose ears which she used well, dark eye, good width to muzzle , distinct stop, correct front, with enough brisket, good amount of rib, correct rear angulation, moved well. Just missed out on top honours as not as fit as she could be. BRCC

3rd: Miss J A Gray- Aberstaff Merry of Soul

Another top draw bitch who you have to get your hands on to appreciate, she has matured beautifully since I last judged her, Red and white pied, strong feminine head, dark eye, good width to muzzle ,distinct stop, ears ok, she has a correct front with a good forechest and depth to brisket, plenty of rib , level topline ,and good rear angulation, she moved with purpose.

Open Bitch (6)

1st: Mr A Zelenkovas- LT/LUX CH Vien Galve Ada She’s The One

Black brindle , standard size, strong bitch, she has a good expression, dark eye, distinct stop, with pronounced cheek bumps, her front is ok, deep brisket, with a good amount of rib she is short coupled , in fit hard condition, moved well.

2nd: Mr A & Mrs M Gallagher- Alshancorn Says Who JW

Black brindle and white, beautiful head and expression, dark eye, pronounced cheek bumps, correct front, leading to enough brisket, good amount of rib, just preferred the fitness of 1st

3rd: Mr R & Mrs P Lloyd -Williams- Cwmháf Cariad

Black brindle bitch, top size, strong feminine head with a lovely expression, good width to muzzle, distinct stop, correct front , enough rib, she moved well.

1st: Mrs K & Mr M Johnson- CH Tillcarr Baptism of fire JW

Black brindle and white bitch, quality through and through, feminine head, with a dark eye, lovely keen expression, correct front, she has a good amount of rib, level topline held on the move. BVB

2nd: Mrs L V Drummond- Ballindona Shooting Star for Fellknott

Another quality bitch, Black brindle and white, standard size, good amount of bone, strong feminine head, with good ear placement, good amount of brisket and rib, moved well.

3rd: Mr W & Mrs C McClelland- Tagstane Shining Star at Rochlawie

Brindle and white, still has her lovely strong feminine head, correct front, with ample bone, good amount of rib, she really enjoyed her time in the ring, lovely to see.
