West Of England Ladies Kennel Society

Breed: Tibetan Mastiff

My Thanks to the Committee of WELKS for their kind invitation to judge at my favourite venue. What a truly lovely group of ladies officiating, who are so welcoming and caring. The whole Show had a feeling of friendly warmth. It was a lovely day judging with superb weather and some excellent dogs to go over.

Tibetan Mastiff

Veteran Dog (1:0) 1. Hollifield: Ch RICHEARON PALDEN; Lovely veteran male of 9 & half, in the most fabulous condition. Coat is dense. Very well off for size, bone & substance. Balanced in head & body. Excellent strength & breadth to skull with defined stop & deep, broad muzzle. Clean oval, dark eyes. Strength in neck, with well laid shoulders & broad chest. Excellent depth to brisket & well sprung ribs. Powerful, muscular hindquarters. Firm topline, which held on the move. He moved like a dog half his age, with sound, powerful stride. Showed himself off, to take the CC

Open D (2:0) 1. Hollifield: RICHEARON PALDEN; 2. Lowes: CH WANGDAK FORREST FOR CALLOWDALE; Super type. Really liked him. Black & tan. Loved his overall outline & size. Masculine, impressive head with wonderfully expressive, oval, dark eyes. Excellent dark pigment. Shoulders well laid back & very good fore-chest. Ribs are deep but could benefit from a little more spring & more width over loins, as he matures further. The potential is there to finish a magnificent male. Well bent stifles & low set hocks. Great texture to coat, hard & fine with good mane & feathering. Free & easy movement, with excellent ground Covering stride. Res CC

Limit B (1:0) 1. Bailey; POWER OF YOU FROM GOM-KHYI AT SAGRAEL (Imp Pol): 2 years. Feminine with plenty of bone & substance & good proportions in body. Skull is broad & muzzle to balance but rather shallow in stop. Scissor bite & excellent dark pigment. Strong neck. Excellent depth & spring to ribs. Moderate hind angles. Very good reach & stride but crossing over in rear. Coat rather soft.

Open B (2:1) 1. Lowes; CALLOWDALE EASY STREET: 7 years lady of excellent type. Great for size, bone & substance yet retains femininity. Very good proportions of body length & height. Large, broad skull with deep, square muzzle & defined stop. Gorgeous expression from set well apart, dark eyes. Muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Firm, level back. Plenty of depth to ribs with good spring. Excellent strong hindquarters with powerful thighs & short hocks. Dense coat with hard top hair & good feathering.
