FRIDAY 24TH OCTOBER 2025
I was originally asked to judge at this show for 2026 and received a phone call only four days earlier to see if I could judge this year, I would never turn down an opportunity to judge the breed that I love and given so much discussion around conformation I am seeing professionally it was a great opportunity to put my hands on a nice entry myself. I have to say the puppies are now very moderate with both open nostrils, a much more defined muzzle. You can easily find a taller, leaner, muscular outline all to the benefit of the dogs, which my preferred type of Frenchie. Some length of muzzle and more nose leather with an open nostril does change the head shape and takes some adjustment but one we all need to embrace. Toplines, tails and rears are personally where the breed needs to focus for healthy, moderate Frenchie’s. Thank you to everyone who came- under a different judge, it was a pleasure to judge your dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed my day.
MPD 1st Membully The Sting of Wisdom. Dark brindle pup who is extremely moderate, lovely defined muzzle, open nostril, dark eye with no white showing. He is a nice size, strong front with neat feet. Coming together to make a lovely outline and moved well. 2nd Gizyjo Honeyghan. Fawn dog who stands shorter on leg and has a lot more substance. He was presented and handled beautifully, he is just a heavier type than 1st and therefore not for me.
PD 1st Olijah Going in Deep. Dark brindle male with dark eye, well set ears overall making for a pleasing masculine expression. He has a lot of bone and substance, especially for a young pup. Lovely front with neat feet, stands straight and strong with purpose making him clearly masculine. Handled beautifully, moved well. BP. 2nd Chelmbull Olijah Top Gun. Pied dog handled beautifully and presented immaculately. He is a nice size and has a pleasing overall outline and moves really well, I preferred the front, head and expression of 1st.
JD Ravendane Paddington Bear. Tiger brindle dog with lovely open nostril and defined muzzle which is pleasing to see. Well made with correct outline and good movement. 2nd Xandene Toffee Fudge at Casemates. A clear fawn dog who was a really pleasing size, right amount of substance, lovely rear with some angulation making for free and easy movement. I preferred the head and front of 1st.
YD 1st Wildax Rowendale Tickety Boo. Clear light fawn dog, well proportion if not a touch short on leg for me but overall, he makes a nice outline. Good substance and well sprung rib. Tail present, moved freely.
PGD 1st Boule and One A Kaiser Chief at Vulabops. Brindle male with a pleasing head and expression. Moved well for his owner.
LD 1st Bincombefarm Morsmordre JW. Tiger Brindle male, really moderate, lean and muscular making for a pleasing overall outline. Masculine head with well set ears and nice expression. Strong rear moves soundly. A very promising young male. 2nd Leyenda’s King of The Ring. Fawn male, smaller and shorter on leg. Clear fawn coat with nice dark half black mask, good bone and substance, sound in the rear moved freely.

DCC. 2nd Ch. Archness the Audacity JW. A slightly smaller tiger brindle male. Another lovely quality head, well set ears and pleasing expression. She is moderate throughout with correct outline, sound rear and moving well for such a young pup. Very promising and lovely to see this head shape coming forward in the breed. 2nd Gizyjo Honeymoon. A larger more substantial fawn pied. A very pretty head with well-set ears and pleasing expression, she is mature and well bodied for her age, moving soundly. She is a different type to 1st and whilst I can appreciate her quality, I preferred 1st as she has a more defined muzzle which we need.

Well made with good substance and bone, strong straight front, moved soundly. I preferred the defined muzzle of 1st but appreciate the quality here. A nice class all-round.
OB A class of high quality bitches of different type. 1st Serenant Iron Butterfly. Dark brindle bitch with striking head and expression, some definition of muzzle, open nostril, excellent pigment making for an exceptionally pleasing head accompanying by a strong straight front and tight neat feet- creating wow factor. Lean and muscular throughout, length of neck, some length in loin and finished beautifully with strong muscular rear, free and easy on move keeping her excellent outline throughout.
