EMSBTC 2025 DOGS - Judge Amélie Chaine

What a special feeling it was to came and judge this show. Special in many ways, i came since several years as a visitor and exhibitor and now i’m here on the other side of the ring. And special also and above all because i came to replace Mrs Diane Taylor (who herself was replacing Dave Lee, for whom I have a heartfelt thought) - I wish her a speed recovery. It was quite emotional for me.

Thank you to the East Midlands SBTC committee for the invitation and the welcome they had for me. 75th what a nice anniversary ! It was a true honor and privilege.

Also thank you to my two stewards Keith and Dave for their quality assistance.

Last but not least, thank you goes to every single exhibitor for the fabulous entry and the great atmosphere throughout the day.

VETERAN (8, 0 abs)

1st Mrs D L & Mr A J Desmond’s CH.ELITEBULLS CHALLENGER JW Standard and balanced black brindle dog, masculine clean head with good ratio muzzle/skull. Very good substance for age. Lovely expression, with dark round eyes and good ear placement. Good bite. Straight front, well padded feet. Good topline and hindquarters. He was shown in top condition for his age. Holds topline standing and moving. He moves very well and was handled expertly. BVIS

2nd Johnson’s ELLCHANSHA HOTSHOT Different from my first, but very pleasing black brindle veteran, balanced overall. Lovely and clean headshape, with distinct stop, dark eyes, good ears set. Good bite and canines. Straight front with nice tight feet. Correct topline and good spring of rib. Good rear angulations, well set tail. Moved and handled well.

MINOR PUPPY (6, 0 abs)

1st Mr C, Mrs S & Miss K Kerry, Houwaart & Daley JACOBEAUS THE LEGACY 7 months old. Attractive young black brindle with nice headshape in development. Dark eyes and well set rose ears. Good scissor bite. Straight front and well boned, no weakness at pasterns and neat feet. Correct spring of rib for age and good shoulder placement. Pleasing side profile with level topline and correct hindquarters. Moved and handled very well.

2nd Mr G & Ms C Mcdermott & Arntzen PROUDSTAFF’S DAY TRIPPER 6 months old, another pleasing puppy with a lot to like. Black brindle with lovely headshape and cute expression. Dark eyes and nice rose ears. Good scissor bite, clean in lip. Straight and already solid front with neat well padded feet. Level topline, short coupled body and correct rear angulation. Good tail carriage. Moved and handled well.

PUPPY (6, 2 abs)

1st Mrs M & Mr M Holdys & Markowski NOUCAMP NOTHING COMPARES TO YOU 10 months old, Lovely standard black brindle pup, with a nice clean headshape. Excellent head proportions, with good ratio skull/muzzle, distinct stop and good cheek muscles. Very good scissor bite and underjaw. Nice dark eyes and well set rose ears. Good front and muscular neck, good placed shoulders. Very good topline that he holds when he settled in movement. Handled well. BPIS

2nd Dr J De Jong NOUCAMP BACK IN ACTION 10 months old, black brindle pup with good type and balance overall. Good ratio skull/muzzle, distinct stop, well placed dark eyes, correct scissor bite. Good front with tight feet, nicely ribbed for age. Level topline with excellent rear angulations and tail set. Moved and handled well. Similar in size and proportions to my first, just prefer the cleaner headshape and expression.

JUNIOR (16, 3 abs)

1st Mr M, Mrs M & Miss S Murphy’s BROCKMAR TOP BOY Black brindle with white, beautiful standard young male. Well balanced, lovely alert expression when he captures your attention. He has dark round eyes and well set neat ears. Excellent ratio skull/muzzle with good cheek muscles. Very good scissor bite with good underjaw. Straight front with excellent bone and feet. Level topline and excellent shoulders placement. Very good angulated rear with well let down hocks. Moved very well when settled. Handled very well. DCC congratulations.

2nd Mr & Mrs V & J Desmazes’s WAYWARDSTAFF VOLENS NOLENS Black brindle, pleasing young male. Powerful but nothing overdone. Nice expression and clean headshape with distinct stop and neat rose ears. Dark eyes and lovely expression. Good front with good width. Well padded feet. Level topline and good angulation, well let down at the hock. Excellent coat condition. He moves well and was expertly handled.

YEARLING (10, 0 abs)

1st Mrs K Y & Mr S Thomas BIGGLESWICK DEVILS DREAM Standard red with a pleasing headshape and expression, lovely dark round eyes, well set ears. Correct scissor bite with good canines and underjaw. Straight front, well boned, strong pasterns. Well muscled neck, level topline. Good spring of rib. Correct rear angulation, and well set tail. He was shown in top condition. Moved and handled very well.

2nd Ms L Jennings ELITEBULL VALENTINE JW close decision in this class, no doubt it’s here two quality dogs. Red and white standard, lovely and clean head, nice expression with dark round eyes, and well set neat ears. Correct scissor bite, strong underjaw. Straight and wide front, with solid pastern and good feet. Short coupled body with a level topline and correct tailset. Moved and handled well.

NOVICE (9, 2 abs)

1st Mr S Cushley BULLBROTHERS MONTECRISTO Red and white standard dog. Lovely headshape and expression with a distinct stop, good cheek muscles, good ratio skull/muzzle. Dark round eyes, well set neat rose ears. Very good scissor bite. Very good front wide and depth, neat feet. Excellent ribcage, short coupled body with a level topline and good rear angulation. Moved and handled very well.

2nd Mr M Chylinski ANTROBOSS DEVIL RIDER Standard white dog with a patch on the eye, clean headshape with correct ratio. Dark eyes, excellent pigmentation. Well set ears . Very good scissor bite. Solid structure, straight and wide front, with strong pastern. Muscular neck, level topline , excellent hindquarters. Good tail set. Shown in excellent condition. Moved and handled well.

POST GRADUATE (12, 2 abs)

1st Mrs M & Mr T Duffield & Mansell-Duffield’s SHARMARA LACRNUM INFLAMARI AT DUFFMAN JW Standard red dog. Lovely clean headshape with typical expression and excellent pigmentation. Well placed dark round eyes, neat rose ears. Good bite and cheek muscles. Muscular neck, good topline. Width front, very good ribcage. Short coupled body. Correct rear, well set tail. Shown in excellent condition. Moved and handled well.

2nd Mrs L Hall’s GEORDIESTAFF LOCAL HERO JW Different from my first, but a lot to like with this brindle dog with very good heashape, good ratio skull/muzzle, nice expression, good scissor bite and strong underjaw. Neat ear, dark round eyes. Straight front, well padded feet, level topline, correct and well muscled hindquarters. Good tail set. Moved and handled well.

1st Mrs N Moorcroft’s ELLCHANSHA CHARM THE DEVIL AT MOORSTAR Black brindle standard dog, powerful but nothing overdone on him. Lovely clean headshape, with beautiful expression. Correct ratio skull/muzzle, clean lipped, well developed cheek muscle, good scissor bite. Lovely dark round eyes. Well set ears. Straight and solid front. Strong neck, level topline, excellent coat structure. Shown in excellent condition. Moved very well, expertly handled. Pushed hard on the line up.

2nd Mr P & Mrs J Marsden’s JAYNEZE DOCTOR JIMMY AT MODLIFE Another very nice male, different from my first, top sized male with energy, well balanced nothing overdone on him. Very good headshape with correct proportions, tight and clean lips. Dark eyes, well set ears. Perfect scissor bite. Straight and solid front with neat feet. Level topline, ample rib and excellent hindquarters. Shown in tip top condition. Moved and handled expertly.

1st Miss L.Sheldon’s CH.KAMARISTAFFS ROYAL RANSOM AT BOWTMAN JW Black Brindle powerful male, strong but nothing overdone. Lovely headshape and expression with very dark eyes, good neat rose ears. Strong skull/ muzzle. Good cheek muscles and good underjaw. Perfect bite with large canines. Straight front, good bone and substance. Strong neck and good shoulder placement, level topline and good spring of rib. Powerful and well angulated rear quarters. Well set tail. Moved and handled well. RCC

2nd Mr & Mrs H & B Janssen’s CH.EARTHQUAKE STAFFS ZENIT Red and white male different from my first, but a lot to like too. Standard and balanced, he was shown in cracking condition. Lovely clean headshape, with nice expression and good skull/muzzle ratio. Good scissor bite. Well placed eyes. Straight front with well padded feet. Level topline and good spring of rib. Correct rear angulation. He moved well and was handled expertly.

Correct scissor bite. Straight front, well tucked up, level topline, powerful hindquarters. Well set tail. Moved and handled well.
