________________________________________

Thank you to all exhibitors, committee and stewards for making this show so enjoyable. Overall the quality of the dogs was mixed and at times a little disappointing but was made up for by many truly excellent examples of the breed. I also noted that one of my major bugbears, that of trimming appears to be considered the norm. May I also humbly remind you, that our breed standard calls for moderation and that means that exaggeration which deviates from the standard must be penalised.

Veteran (3 Entries, 0 Absent)

1st Wimberley & Newman’s Trishine’s Celestial Dream with Finjaro

This lovely Blenheim was a credit to his owners. Masculine head but with a soft expression and wonderful eyes. Well broken coat, good construction keeping his level topline at all times.

2nd Morgan’s Hearthfriend Top Withens

11.5 yrs tricolour also with a soft expression framed by well set ears. Moved steadily around the ring.

3rd Street & Page’s Luphenex Lord Of The Rings

Special Veteran (Over 10 Years) (2, 0)

1st Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Catch The Kiss

What a lovely boy this is. !0.5 yrs and in wonderful condition with a soft expression. Moved with drive around the ring keeping a level topline. Wearing his years very well.

2nd Morgan’s Hearthfriend Top Withens

 As in previous class

Baby Puppy (1, 0)

1st Willis’ Dinitros Master Rusty

Very promising ruby boy with a great outlook. He has lovely rich pigment, is well constructed and moved well keeping a level topline and tailset

Minor Puppy (6, 0)

1st Rhodes’ Calonlan Zeus

Very smart heavily marked tricolour. Very well made with correct head and expression, well set and carried ears, moderate neck leading into well laid shoulders, level topline, good spring of rib and correct length of loin. Good angulation all round so as expected moved well.

2nd Spall & Clark’s Llapsttam Luther Vandross

Ruby, not as forward as 1 but all quality. Moved very well and was beautifully schooled. Just didn’t keep a strong topline at times but I am sure this will change as he matures and strengthens.

3rd Bloomfield’s Oaklake Limitless

Res Liverton-Ovey’s Halosey King Of My Heart

VHC Floyd’s Laurami High Hopes Barney

Puppy (3, 1) There might have only been two exhibits in this class but they were both of excellent quality

1st Levy & Sedgwick’s Pascavale Banksy

Oh my, this boy is right up my street. At 11 months the template is all there and I predict a stellar future for him. Compact Blenheim with a beautiful richly marked coat, moderate bone, compact with great neck and shoulders. Soft expressive head. Moved and shown extremely well. Shortlisted him for the CC.

2nd Callaghan & Todd’s Callyspride Cedric

Heavily marked Blenheim with a beautiful head. Softly cushioned under the large dark eyes, well boned and good ribs and forechest. Just a little larger and longer than 1.

Junior (12, 2) Super class with some real stars.

1st McMurray’s Chadwick Perfect Tonight at Merryoth (Imp USA)

My notes say “ What elegance” and this describes this young Blenheim perfectly. No exaggeration here as his head is textbook with larger dark eyes and deepest nose pigment, excellent neck and shoulders, moved accurately with a lovely topline and tailset. For perfection, I would like him ever so slightly shorter in loin. One I considered for the CC

2nd Fox-Shone’s Pamedna The Power Of Love

Another elegant boy who was extremely close up to one. Superb outline and moved well. Head developing well and should finish well.

3rd Maclaine & Vella’s Lochbuie Julius Baer

Res Searle’s Stonepit Into The Blue

VHC Hazeltine’s Verheyen Woody Under Gracewincavs

Yearling (6, 1)

1st Koster-Tindall’s Harana Now You Has Jazz JW

Mature black and tan with many excellent attributes. Great shoulders, bone and angulation all round. Moved so well and so looked the part when animated. So frustrating that standing he loses his “joie de vivre”. Another I considered further.

2nd Walker’s Carsan Richie Rich

This smaller tricolour was presented and shown to perfection. He gleamed with health and didn’t disappoint on the table with a textbook tricolour head, with dark round eyes, well cushioned muzzle and well made body. Moved OK but unfortunately today he was excited and carried his tail a little proud. Should finish very well.

3rd Willis’ Dinitros Rock Steady Eddie

Res Jaramillo’s Conabec Scrumpy Jack

VHC Danks’ Rabymar Prince Louie TAF

Novice (6, 1)

1st Lovel’s Lovetrac Banksy

Beautifully presented Blenheim who stood out in this class with his compact well muscled body, moderate bone, masculine but quality head. Moved extremely well. Close up for the CC

2nd Mynott’s Honeybet Hamilton

This heavily marked Blenheim has so much to offer. Great shape and substance. Masculine but correct head and expression. Super shape when standing but was a little erratic on the move.

3rd Riis-White’s Tamyse Bear With Us at Cernyleaze

Res Maclaine & Vella’s Lochbuie Goldman Sachs

VHC Danks’ Rabymar Prince William at Alsidewood BIH PCh

Special Graduate Blenheim or Tricolour (3, 1)

1st Biddle’s Theodore James Castellum Mare at Hearthfriend

Heavily marked tricolour. Good outline when standing and on the move. Good length of back .Sweet head and expression

2nd Morgan’s Hearthfriend Trafalgar

Blenheim in a larger mould than 1 and slightly longer in loin. Masculine but handsome head. Moved steadily but tended to lose his topline.

Special Graduate Black & Tan or Ruby (3, 0)

1st Smith’s Beaudale Smooth Criminal

Beautifully presented ruby with attractive outline. Masculine, well cushioned head will large, dark eyes. Good bone well sprung ribs. Moved well but will hit the big time when he matures more and puts on body.

2nd Gamble’s Loranka’s I’ve Got The Look for Lisgarth

Another lovely Blenheim with the most lovely coat and rich pigment. Slightly smaller and more compact than 1. Beautiful outline when standing but needs to be more precise behind when moving.

3rd Danks’ Rabymar Prince Louis TAF

Post Graduate (4, 0)

1st Mackenzie’s Carsan Hot An Tasty JW

Most unexaggerated and correct Blenheim with a beautiful head. Large dark eyes, well set ears, rich well presented coat. Lovely outline standing and on the move.

2nd Jackson’s Fortunamajor Perseus JW

This tricolour must have one of the most beautiful heads around. Heavily marked with rich tan in all the right places, correct bite, dark round eyes. Moderate angulation and accurate footfall on the move. Just let down today by his slightly too high tail carriage.

3rd Lunt’s Oaktreepark Royal Austin

Res Morgan’s Hearthfriend Trafalgar

Mid Limit (2, 0)

1st Lovel’s Juzandia Keverne at Lovetrac

Good sized Blenheim with expertly presented coat. Head is so typical of his breeding, masculine but with quality. Dark, round eyes, excellent pigment, good crest to neck, level topline, good tail carriage. Lovely balanced outline standing and on the move. Today he was not moving as accurately as I would have liked.

2nd Dawson’s Luphenex Highland Fling

Attractively headed Blenheim, good pigment, correct mouth, good bone. Would prefer better front and rear angulation which would give him a more balanced outline.

Limit (7, 2) Two lovely tricolours headed this class

1st Levy & Sedgwick’s Pascavale Tyson

Good things come in small packages and this boy hits the mark in so many ways. Compact size with good angulation front and rear, good reach of neck, well sprung ribs, level topline but his crowning glory is his sublime head. Moved well

2nd Li’s Avalcier Ace JW

Have known this heavier marked tri since he made his debut as a precocious puppy. He has fulfilled his early promise and has matured into a striking male with great ring presence.Beautiful head, good pigment, lovely neck and shoulders, longer in the loin than 1. Through his chances away on the move when he lost his topline. Got better as the class progressed. Will always be there or thereabouts.

3rd Searle’s Midori’s Flowers Pegasus at Stonepit

Res Biddle’s Theodore James Castellum Mare at Hearthfriend

VHC Lewis’ Carleeto Cutie Pie JW

Open (3, 0)

1st Levy & Sedgwick’s Ch Roi-De-Coeur Of Sevijeans at Pascavale

What a gorgeous, compact Blenheim brimming with quality.Masculine head with superb pigment and dark, round eyes. No weediness here with correct bone, well angulated front and rear , well set on neck leading to a firm topline and excellent tail set, straight off his back. Moved accurately with drive from behind and in profile. So beautifully presented and shown as we expect from these exhibitors. Was delighted to award him the RCC and his son Best Puppy Dog.

2nd Spall & Clark’s Ch Llapsttam’s Heavenly Scent

Impressive ruby who was close up to 1. Beautifully shown and presented with rich ruby coat, dense nose pigment and soft expression. Slightly larger than 1 and not as positive on the move.

Champion (1, 0)

1st Vorderstrasse’s Ch Arrowbien Dream Machine

Glamorous Blenheim who is presented and shown in tip-top condition. Doesn’t disappoint on the table with his masculine head, excellent pigment, large dark eyes. Heavily feathered ears are carried well framing his face. Good length of neck leading to a well angulated front and strong rear enabling him to float around the ring, covering the ground well. Topped off by his lovely outgoing temperament. A very worthy champion.

Special Open Bred By Exhibitor (3, 0)

1st Chapman & Ireland’s Ch Ellemich American Express

My notes say “Outstanding”. This well known exhibit has had a stellar career, but I can honestly say I have never seen him look better! All the boxes had been ticked with him in firm, lean condition; superbly conditioned, glamorous and well marked coat. Such a wonderful temperament, very correct construction which is projected in his movement. There are no iffs with this boy and his breeders should be congratulated on reaching such a high standard with him. Delighted to award him the CC and ultimately BIS with his daughter RBIS.

2nd Rees’ Ch Embeth Rock The Boat

Another worthy champion who certainly wasn’t disgraced by 2nd. Another superbly presented and shown exhibit. More compact than 1 with an appealing head and excellent pigment. Not quite as accurate on the move as today he was moving a little close behind and this was the decider.

1st Colavecchia’s Carolus Miss Elsie

7 yrs Blenheim who topped this class due to her outgoing temperament and very accurate movement. Very well coated with excellent pigment and large expressive eyes. Firm body, good bone and excellent angulation. She never flagged for a minute and kept her tail wagging furiously until the end of the day. A well deserved Best Veteran in Show.

2nd Loades’ Rosirius Bluebell

Another top quality Blenheim who excelled with her eyes. Such a pretty head and well made body, she moved steadily but had to give way today to the exuberant 1st.

Res Dawson’s Leeabbie Toodie’s Delight at Alsidewood

VHC Richardson’s Kringleholme Seruna JW

Special Veteran (Over 10 Years) (3, 0)

1st Loades’ Rosirius Clover

I couldn’t believe that this Blenheim was 14 yrs. What a credit to her breeder and owner. She was in suberb condition with a well broken and conditioned coat. Her construction is very correct with well laid shoulders , good spring of rib and good topline and tailset. Moved steadily around the ring. Congratulations.

2nd Colavecchia’s Carolus Miss Liberty VW

12 yrs Blenheim who was very close up to 1. Many of the same remarks apply with lovely eyes and pigment. Head different to 1 in that she was slightly narrower in the muzzle but still with that sweet feminine expression.

3rd Willis’ Prada Princess Of Major

Baby Puppy (0, 0)

Minor Puppy (6, 1)

1st Chapman & Ireland’s Kiss Kiss Du Chateau Noblesse at Ellemich (Imp Deu)

6 month old Blenheim with personality in bucket loads. Head has so much promise with beautiful dark round eyes and dense nose pigment. Well made throughout and moved extravagantly demonstrating her wonderful outgoing temperament. I am sure she will go on to create some records! Only beaten to BPB by the very mature puppy winner.

2nd Spall & Clark’s Llapsttam’s Vanessa

7 month old black and tan. Lovely to go over on the table extremely well made, not quite the head of the winner but she too has a good outline and extremely sound on the move. Just needs to come up a little on her leg.

What a huge surprise to me! As she walked into the ring she instantly caught my attention with her beautifully presented coat rippling as she moved. 10 months old but so mature without being overdone with excellent pigment, large dark eyes, well cushioned muzzle and ears that frame her face. Up to size but hopefully she has finished growing. An assured future for this lovely girl. Delighted to award her the RCC and BPIS. Congratulations.

Sweet, feminine head with correct expression, correct mouth, good length of neck and shoulder angulation. Good topline and tailset with good rear angulation and well let down hocks. Moved precisely.

2nd Maclaine’s Ellemich Whoops A Daisy at Pennygown

Thought this blen was my winner but she didn’t make the most of herself. Larger in frame than 1 but shares many of the same attributes. Pigment was a little off but loved her generous head and soft expression.

3rd Lee’s Kelrick Trinity

Limit (13, 4)

1st Ireland’s Charnell Here Comes Summer JW

My star! I have seen this lovely bitch many times since her debut as a sweet as sugar candy puppy, but never thought that on the day she would impress me quite so much as she did! You are drawn to her wonderful head and large lustrous, dark eyes which give the most satisfying expression. She has the correct length of muzzle, beautiful clear head markings, dark nose pigment, well set and long feathered ears, moderately crested neck leading to well angulated shoulders, level topline and well carried tail. She really caught my eye on the move with her easy relaxed ground covering gait. There was no tension or anxiety the way she showed and I was delighted to award her 2nd CC and RBIS beaten only by an exceptional male who was still fresh and showing like a trooper.

2nd Waters’ Sweetbriar La Dee Da JW

Lovely Blenheim girl who was extremely unlucky to come up against 1. Shorter in the loin than 1 and moved well. So many of the above remarks apply to her.

2nd Danks’ Leeabbe Toodie’s Delight at Alsidewood

7 ½ yrs black and tan. Larger make and shape than 1 but could still move out impressively. Not the head type I prefer, as she needs a more cushioned muzzle, but a good all round example of the breed

1st Robb, Chapman & Ireland’s Ch Ellemich Good Trouble with Gleniren

Such a beautiful and feminine Blenheim presented impeccably. Head is textbook with large soulful dark eyes framed by well set and full feathered ears. Moved so well covering the ground with ease which is down to her conformation. Never stops showing for her handler giving her all. I can certainly see her illustrious sire in her!
