What a super day it was! Very happy to be judging along side Keith Baldwin who I have known for a lot of years now and the very lovely Vicky Carley who was acting as referee.
Only one criticism which is that I found lots of short tails where even the hair didn’t reach the hock! Maybe something else for breeders to start looking at?
I was happy to go with Keiths choice of DCC for BIS as I have also recently awarded him a CC and in the challenge he was just a little stronger in the rear on the away. Delighted however that my BCC took the other honours of RBIS, BOS and BVIS, congratulations to both of you!
Baby puppy B (1) 1 Mercer’s Kirkwind Secret Soul a very sweet girl with lots to like, attractive head and intelligent expression and quite confident on the move, just looking a little high at the rump which on going over her was due to her coat.
MPB (8) 1 P De Cree & Schevenels Eyes of The World Xpress Yourself, this was a nice class of promising puppies but I felt this young lady just had the edge on the move, she is well balanced with pleasing outline and an attractive head with sufficient width of skull for her age, she uses her ears well which added to her appeal, she is nicely angulated in the rear with a lovely sweep over the loin and croup down to a good length of tail, looking very good in profile action moving freely and easily and is quite well together for her age which won her the class. 2 Greenings Kanamaren Road to Joy Another one who pleased me on the move, she has a very feminine outlook but is slightly narrower in muzzle than the winner, neck is of good length and shoulders are well laid, she has lovely bone without being overdone and nice oval feet, a confident and sound mover especially in profile but just a little loose in front at this stage, lots to like here though 3 Hawkers Taytinja Shooting Star
PB (3) 1 BPB and BPIS Murfet and Olivers Tambuzi Guess Who's Back presenting a very nice outline and well proportioned, this b/w girl has a lot to appreciate. I liked her overall balance and outline, head has width but is still feminine and she has dark oval eyes emitting a keen expression, forelegs are straight and strong to slightly sloping pasterns and good feet, she has sufficient depth of chest for her age with well fitting elbows but needs to develop a little more in front, excellent topline shapely quarters and moving freely and easily around the ring. Delighted that she took BP overall, congratulation! 2 Hawkers Taytinja Defying Gravity a very pretty girl but rather raw all through, I liked her overall shape and she is well balanced with ample angulation front and rear, good topline and croup to low set tail which was carried well on the move, she moves correctly for the breed with an easy gait but just a little loose all over 3 Tunnicliffs Littlethorn Chiqui
JB (6,3) All three in this class were really good movers 1 Green, Ratcliffe and Greens Borderpride Laced in Truth by Fayken a really well made youngster with the best of head and a lovely dark eye, she has good length of neck and well laid shoulders and stands true in front on nicely compact oval feet, medium length of body which is well ribbed, firm topline to sloping croup and a tail of good length, so easy and free on the move and effortless in her strides, definitely one with an exciting future 2 P De Cree & Schevenels Broadmeadows Jaz-O-Mine another well constructed exhibit, different in head but no less feminine, she is slightly shorter cast than the winner but with good angles front and rear and maintaining a level topline as she went round, another easy and tireless mover but I just preferred the overall shape of the winner today 3 Gregorys Tonkory Springtime a well handled exhibit and again great on the move with minimal footlift and effortless strides, I would have liked a little more strength to her head but she has plenty of time to mature on her own
YB (5,2) 1 Green and Ratcliffes Arrodare Fire It Up a medium size girl whose type appealed so much, lovely head and dark eye, super neck into well placed shoulders and showing good balance between leg length and body, well angulated in the rear and standing on strong hocks, very sound and true on the move but could have a little more extension in front 2 Fawcetts Laceway Bottom’s Up another well made girl, slightly longer and higher on the leg than the winner, she has an attractive head with medium sized well set ears and a lovely reach of neck flowing into a good lay of shoulder, she stands true on front on strong legs and slightly sloping pasterns, I just preferred the overall outline and balance of the winner 3 Wettern-Bloomfields Alpana Summer Storm JW
NB (7) 1 Tambuzi Guess Who's Back (See PB) 2 Dalbys Taytinja Speed of Light over Axernamoon 6mth old and looking quite immature here but she has a pleasing overall shape with good height to length ratios, well boned forelegs and lovely tight oval feet, I liked her on the move and she is fairly well together in profile movement but a tad close behind on the away 3 Welch’s Simmovon Reason Too Dream JW
PGB (10,2) 1 and RBCC Angier and Staceys Bilyara Isn't She Lovely (ai) Presented in first class coat and condition, this girl has such a beautiful head and keen expression and all the time I was watching her she had her eye on me! Lovely neck with slight arch flowing into a good lay of shoulder, body is well developed with depth to chest and a good spring of rib, elbows close fitting and a firm topline flowing over the croup to correct tail set, there is so much to like about her and on the move she is just so effortless and easy and I could not look past her for the RCC today. 2 Manns Borderpride You Got The Love, pretty headed girl with a lovely dark eye and keen expression, she has ample front angulation but could have a fraction more behind, she didn’t so much impress me on the stack but it all came together on in motion and her profile movement was very good as she covered the ground accurately and with the minimum of effort 3 Criddles Pavia Heavenly Heart
MLB (7,2) 1 Portmans Laceway Dream of Albion, a 3yr b with a super overall shape showing balance and elegance but without losing the essence of the breed, attractive well proportioned head with medium sized well set ears and dark oval eye, very nice neck into good shoulders with straight forelegs and closing fitting elbows, fit body with muscular well angled hindquarters and strong hocks, an active mover but still effortless and easy in her strides 2 Leas Calareto All My Loving JW a well balanced 3 yr girl who was very well handled and presented. Attractive head with oval eyes emitting a kind and intelligent expression and well set medium sized ears, forelegs are straight and strong to slightly sloping pasterns and tight oval feet, slightly longer in body than the winner but soundly constructed with a good depth of chest and well sprung ribs, I did like the way she carried herself on the move as she covered the ground freely with excellent front reach 3 McConnachies Your Still The One at Thistleskye
LB (6,3) 1 Wiltshires Caleykiz Passion for Power I cant recall having seen this quality girl before but she was presented in top condition and looked very balanced on the stack, feminine head with dark eye and well set ears, clean neck into well laid shoulders complimented by good hind angulation. She presents a clean and balanced outline with an excellent topline and is smooth and easy on the move looking like she could go all day 2 Smiths Arrodare Seen It in Colour another really nice b, feminine with good head proportions and dark oval eye, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders with a firm topline line and strong loin although a fraction shorter overall than the winner, I just preferred the length of stride of the winner today 3 Mcconnachies Wish's Emerald Star for Thistleskye
OB (13,1) 1 Fawcetts Sh Ch Laceway Raise The Roof, an elegant b/w b who makes a very nice outline on the stack, lovely head and eye and super neck leading into well laid shoulders, through to a strong level topline and slight croup to low set tail, she has a good depth of chest and was presented in lithe and muscular condition, she is nicely angulated in the rear and stands on strong parallel hocks which she used to advantage on the move covering the ground freely with minimal effort. Unlucky to miss out on top honours today in a strong line up of girls. 2 Shahmatovas Nashdom Strawberry Fields, a 5 yr b quite similar in shape to the winner but of slightly heavier build. Presented in good coat and overall condition, head has width to skull and her dark oval eyes are well placed but I would have liked her a fraction shorter in muzzle. She has a good width and depth to her chest and well spring ribs, muscular well angular red quarters and well let down hocks, a strong mover displaying an easy action with strong rear drive and 3 Welch’s Simmovon Sheer Delight JW
Special AOC (10,1) 1 and Best AOC in show Fawcetts Janbell Out of The Blue at Laceway a super blue merle, rising 8 who was in presented beautiful condition which completely belied her age, very balanced and clean in outline although I wouldn’t want her any bigger, lithe body with an excellent front and slightly sloping pasterns down to neat oval feet, she has a firm topline, well turned stifles down to strong parallel hocks and is a fluent and easy mover, very well made and rather striking I thought and with the movement to match 2 Your Still The One at Thistleskye a pretty tri girl of medium size and presenting a pleasing outline although not quite the femininity overall of the winner and a little shorter in muzzle, however she is nicely made and presented in muscular condition and this showing in her easy and flowing movement 3 Dodds Molumiki Down in Upendi
GCB (8) 1 Lee and Ratcliffes Arrodare Rwith A Cause JW 4 yr b/w medium sized b who was very well handled to win this good class, she has a lovely head and dark eye and a lengthy neck with slight arch leading into a good lay of shoulder, body is well ribbed with a good depth of chest and her topline flows over the croup to a low set tail, on the move she displays a free and easy action, presented in good order all through 2 Calareto All My Loving JW (see 2nd in MLB) 3 Wish's Emerald Star for Thistleskye winner
VB (8,2) 1 and BCC, RBIS, BOSIS, BVB and BVIS Simmons and Inverno’s Shr overall than the Ch Sashdan Never Ending Story (ai) JW Even as a veteran this girl is just stunning. I awarded her a RCC as a puppy and have not judged her since, in beautiful coat and muscled condition with an ultra feminine head, lovely dark eye and good use of ears, on the stack she was totally at one with her handler and everything flows from her neck through her topline to her well set tail. On the move she covered the ground easily and fluidly. I was delighted to award her the BCC today and with the agreement of my co judge she was awarded , RBIS, BOSIS and BVIS. 2 Walters Sh Ch Goytre Daddy's Saucie Girl JW one I have judged before and still looking fantastic at 11 years old although not quite the body condition of the winner, very good rib cage and topline and moving soundly and effortlessly around the ring, so nice to see veterans with lovely tight feet too ! 3 Fawcetts Sh Ch Laceway Echo Falls JW
Special Open Working B (4) 1 Hawkers Moshanta Magic Penny for Taytinja JW this girl is so very light on her feet whilst still displaying reach and drive, she stands well in front on good feet with a good depth of chest and firm topline, shapely hindquarters with muscled thighs and strong hocks, I liked her a lot but a better length of leg would have given her a more balanced outline 2 Molumiki Down in Upendi blue girl with a lovely eye and expression, she has a good length of neck and is well angulated fore and aft, held a good topline as she moved around the ring, better for length of leg than the winner but not as strong in rear action 3 Alpana Strike A Pose
