City of Birmingham Championship show – PMD’s

I was pleased to receive a good and quality entry given the day of the week that pastoral day fell on. Sadly I feel the need to comment that there were one of two who could have done with a good bath before the show but otherwise the rest of the exhibits were beautifully presented.

Class 601 SBD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1 CHALLINOR & CHALLINOR Shanlimore Marvin a good size male with a pleasing head and well set ears who was presented in profuse coat, strong neck and well boned forelegs, ample forechest and depth of chest with moderate hind angulation, sound and steady on the move but tends to flick his front legs out which is very noticeable when coming towards.

Class 602 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 1

Class 603 PD (2,1 wd)

1 and BPIB BHATTACHARYA Jumicar Free As A Bird I really liked this 9mth dog who has a lot going for him, he is strong and masculine but still with elegance, head is of good shape with dark almond eye and small neat ears, forelegs are straight and muscular to compact feet, he could still develop a little more in chest but back is strong with ample length and he is moderately angulated in the rear, propels himself easily around the ring wielding his tail as he goes. Presented in profuse coat and furnishings. What a shame he came back into the dog challenge slightly unsound as he would have been a contender for higher honours, however in the challenge for BP thankfully he was sound again.

Class 604 JD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1 and BJIB Reillys Mangrove Xiphos Spartan Swordsman At Darmaror JW this 16mth dog has an elegant and balanced outline and a very good head shape with minimal stop, dark eye and strong muzzle, he stands on straight forelegs and beautiful feet with depth to chest and a good lay of shoulder, excellent topline and moderate hind angulation, easy on the move although a little close on the away and could wield his tail a tad more but I feel he is very promising.

Class 605 PGD NO ENTRIES

LD (4,1) 1 and RDCC WILCOCK, & WILCOCK Dream Of Valyria Daemon Of Mysticelysium At Penellcy I liked this tall elegant boy very much, he has a beautiful head with good pigment and close fitting lips, lovely neck and shoulders, muscular body with enough width in front and a good depth of chest, moderately angulated in the rear and using what he has to advantage as he covered the ground in typical PMD style, presented in a well conditioned profuse coat. 2 KENNEDY & KENNEDY, Mrs PJ Pyrcot Spirit Of Hanai, smaller all through than the winner but he too was in good coat and general condition, reasonable head proportions with almond eye which could be a fraction darker but a little less stop would have given him more appeal, he has ample bone and a good depth of chest, firm topline to moderately angulated quarters but I would have liked a better croup. Unhurried and easy in his movement covering the ground soundly. 3 CHANG & SKIBA, Mr Martin Oonelladream Born To Run

OD (6) 1 and DCC KENYON & WARD Ch Charibere Simply The Sequel At Kaianna JW I seem to find this dog every time I judge without knowing who he is ! He was my BIS from Junior at the Scottish club show a few years ago and my RDCC last time I judged. Today he went one better and really was on fabulous form. I like him very much for size and shape and he has a touch of elegance that makes a good dog even better, in beautiful condition with a lovely head, having minimal stop, dark almond eye and small neat ears, excellent front and feet, well placed shoulders and tidy but unrestrictive elbows, good depth of chest and rounded ribcage carried well back, holds himself so well on the move with good propulsion from the rear. Pleased to award him the DCC and BOB today.2 BAVERSTOCK & BAVERSTOCK, Mr Ian Ch Kalkasi Just Because JW another really nice specimen presented in muscled condition, not the size or quite the elegance of the winner but I thought he had a very nice head and eye, strong clean neck, good bone and feet, chest is of good breadth and depth and under a firm topline his ribs extend well back, he is moderately angulated in the rear with correct croup and good tail set, he covers the ground easily and freely and was presented in profuse coat of good texture but without hiding his shape 3 MEAKIN & MEAKIN, Mr Paul Royaume Falkor Du Neouvielle (imp Fra)

VB (2,1) 1 and BV GOODWIN’s Ch Lisjovia Adagio Avec Montmusique JW OSW a beautifully feminine girl who I have judged several times before and each time she has been there or there abouts for higher honours and today too was considered for the RCC amongst a quality entry of girls, she has such an endearing expression from her medium dark eye, moderate length of muzzle with good nose and mouth pigment, strong in bone but not overdone, ribs extending well back and firm level topline with slight slope to tail, sound all ways and covering the ground with ease.

PB (2 Entries) 1 and BPB TADD Chia Apaltasunez Avec Kricarno (imp Czech Republic) an attractive girl with striking head markings, to be critical I would like a little more bone but she is elegant in stance and makes a nice outline. Head is of medium length with slight curve to skull and her dark eyes hold a kind expression, moderate length of neck into a good lay of shoulder, ample ribbing and an excellent tailset, moved needs to tighten a little but she has plenty of time for this. I found her a little more accurate in front action than 2 Carter and Carters Jumicar She's A Killer Queen a well coated girl with a pleasing head having ample width of skull and a strong muzzle, a little narrow in front but standing on good feet, moderate length of neck and level topline with a good depth of chest, profile movement is good but she does tend to cross over a little in front coming toward.

JB (1) 1 Baverstocks Kalkasi As If By Magic, what a shame this youngster played up today, clearly not liking the floor and either unwilling to move or running away from her handler but stood well to be gone over. I thought she had a great overall shape and was presented in good profuse coat with plenty of bone and substance without being overdone, proportionate head with dark eye and lovely biscuit markings, short neck and well placed shoulders with a firm topline, slight slope to croup and a beautiful tail of good length, movement was unfortunately difficult to assess.

PGB (2,1) 1 Kennedy and Kennedy Gamuvel Patou Via Dell Amore At Pyrcot (imp Lva) this girl is a nice size and has a pleasing amount of bone, head in profile is a good shape although a little broad in skull for my preference which does take away a little femininity, however she is well constructed with good shoulders, deep chest and a firm topline, hindquarters are strong and muscular allowing her to move out freely around the ring,

LB (3) 1 and BCC MCBAIN & HOLMES, Miss Lisa Polar Light Pride Of America (imp Usa) JW. What a beautiful girl this is, so utterly feminine with nothing overdone and without losing any of the breeds characteristics, she appealed for her overall balance and shape, lovely head of good proportions and just enough stop, dark eye and good nose pigment, she is strong through the neck and shoulders, enough width in front with depth to chest and text book topline to slightly sloping croup and a tail of good length, in motion she is smooth, hurried and totally sound and the more I saw of her the more I liked her. Presented in a profuse coat with clean white fringeing. I was delighted to award her the CC today giving her the title of Champion 2 COLES, Miss S Gillandant Jasmine looking quite heavy all through and therefore not the femininity or elegance of the winner, however on getting my hands on her, a lot of it is coat and underneath she is very well made with good bone all through, short strong neck, very good front and super compact feet which I love to see, strong body and level topline to broad muscled hindquarters, an efficient mover who is sound all ways. 3 KENYON & WARD Charibere Reason To Dream At Kaianna JW I feel I need to mention this girl as she was totally out of coat but looked to have the most wonderful shape and she moved out very well, I hope I get to judge her in the future when she is less naked!

OB (8,4) 1 and RBCC Gibsons Ch Ir Ch Febus Anapeou JW OSW ShCEx of good breed type with an excellent well proportioned head, slight stop and dark eyes, strong neck to well placed shoulders and neat elbows, shapely and proportionate body with ribs extending well back, firm and muscular loin and powerful hindquarters with moderate angulation making a pleasing outline and striding out soundly and easily around the ring, a lovely example. 2 Willcock & WILCOCK Ch Penellcy She's Like The Wind, another girl I have judged before and there is so much to like here, she has femininity in abundance, a tad longer in body and a little smaller than the winner, well shaped head with small neat ears and a strong slightly arched neck flowing into withers, firm topline and well ribbed body with depth to chest. Well presented with an abundance of coat and fringeing. I have seen her move better than she did today. 3 CHURCH & BAMFORD, Mr Richard Pafaxen A Million Dreams JW
