ROTTWEILERS DRIFFIELD 49TH CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

I really enjoyed my 3rd appointment awarding CC’s to this breed, its been 9 years since I last judged the breed. Temperaments were steady and it was good to get my hands on so many fit dogs. Obviously I was thrilled and quite proud that my choices for BOB and BP faired so well under the group judges, congratulations to all the owners

MPD (3,1) 1 Hoole and Batesons Upmont Magnus Ver Magnusson just 6 months old and with very good bone all through, head is maturing nicely with ample width to skull and depth to muzzle and ears are well placed, he is compact in body and already developing well in forechest and rib, good hind angulation and covering the ground with rear and drive 2 Huckers Bevanray Disruption, a very raw youngster but with a super temperament, not quite as developed in head as the winner but the basic shape is there, he has a good length of neck and well laid shoulders and holds a level topline on the stack, he too went forward well but not quite as together as the winner

PD (4) 1 and BPD, BPIB and PG2 Moss Chantavorys Wonder Boy I was very impressed with this 9mth male, he already has good size and substantial bone along with the strength in movement to carry him through to greater things, head is masculine with good width to skull, deep muzzle and a lovely dark eye, strong clean neck into a good lay of shoulder and standing true in front although feet need to tighten just a fraction, body is well proportioned with depth to chest and he stands with a firm topline. Strong and free on the move displaying good rear drive, a very promising youngster. 2 Eyre Chantavorys Captain Morgan this lad was not really cooperating with his handler today but I liked his overall make and shape, he has a handsome head with keen expression and is well angulated fore and aft, he has good bone and substance but needs to firm up his pasterns, once he did settle I saw glimpses of good driving action 3 Bradley and Bradleys Taneven Danjo

JD(2,1) 1 Denver Smith and Brawns Javladare Mr Boombastic a promising youngster with a great head and expression being broad in skull with a strong muzzle and lovely dark eye, moderate length of neck to a good lay of shoulder and strong straight forelegs, firm topline and muscled croup, muscular hindquarters and well bent stifles, he covers the ground really well and was presented in excellent coat and condition.

PGD (4,2) Neither of these dogs showed themselves to advantage on the move, both were rather erratic and movement was hard to assess 1 Wilkinsons Rottkinson Dark Knight pleasing in outline with a masculine head which I preferred to that of the 2nd placed dog, he is strongly made with good bone and substance but I would have liked to see better feet, body is well ribbed with ample hind angulation, he does drive out fairly well from behind when settled but he appeared to be quite a handful for his owner and therefore rather unsettled 2 Cave Chantavory Love In The Air a well marked boy with good bone, head is sufficiently broad but a better earset and use could enhance his expression, pleasing neck flowing into withers and level topline and he is compact in body with a well developed ribcage and strong hindquarters, just not settled on the move today

LD (4) 1 and RDCC Franklin, Franklin and Huckers Bevanray Carlos JW a very smart and well marked18 month old, good head with width to skull, dark eye and strong muzzle, ears set correctly and used well, he stands true in front on slightly sloping pasters and compact feet, he has ample forechest for his age, good depth of chest and well spring ribs, to be hyper critical I would have liked him a fraction shorter in body but he really is a fabulous mover covering the ground freely and easily with plenty of reach and drive. Should easily gain his title 2 Goodban’s Seittor Magic Spell Witjh Keljaygo JW lots to like on this medium sized boy and he looks good on the stack particularly in profile, head is strong enough and he uses his ears well, neck is of good length and slightly arched and he has width and depth to chest with a firm topline and muscled loin, forelegs are straight with ample bone but he does tend to stand with one foot slightly out however this corrects itself on the move and he is positive and ground covering in his actions 3 Moss Chantavory’s One and Only

OD 1(0.1) This was an excellent class of males, sadly I did notice one or two unsound dogs who obviously had to be disregarded from the placings 1 and DCC Foley, Foley and Morkute’s Leon Is Rojaus Stenio, this is a cracking dog, all male and whose bold and confident character really shone through today, I can imagine he is hard work sometimes but for movement and construction he was spot on, masculine head with width to skull and clean dark eye, strong deep muzzle and correct bite, compact and well proportioned body with an excellent front having width and depth to chest and plenty of heart room, fit body and muscular thighs, an absolute power house on the move displaying excellent reach and drive, I loved him ! 2 Dunhill-Halls CH Fantasa Lucky Luciano another good male who is soundly constructed all through, head is clean and well proportioned with dark almond eye and neat well set ears, very in tune with his handler giving him an alert and intelligent expression, he is compact body and well developed in forechest with depth to chest and well sprung ribs, topline carried level to well set tail, another powerful mover but I just preferred the overall action of the winner today 3 Hoole and Batesons CH Upmont Capone

SBB (2) 1 Headspath Jantavia She Drives Me Crazy an attractive girl with a feminine head and dark almond eye, shapely in body although just a fraction long at present but she has a lovely neck and good shoulders, when stacked she holds a level topline but just drops it a fraction on the move, 2 Waltons Chantavory’s Vixen, this girl is of good size and makes a pleasing profile overall, she has a lovely clean dark eye and well set ears but I preferred the head of the winner overall. Of sound construction with a good spring of rib, firm topline and nicely angulated in the rear and moving out soundly although just a little close behind on the away.

MPB (3,2) 1 and BPB Dunhill-Halls Fantasa Strike While Its Hot, a rather raw girl with a lovely feminine head but still with strength to skull and dark eye. she has a slightly arched neck into withers and on to a firm topline, shoulders are well placed and she is nicely angulated in the rear and stands true in front and behind, moved at the correct pace to get sensible movement from her.

PB (2,1) 1 Jantavia She Drives Me Crazy (see SBB)

JB (4,3) 1 Breretons Xeli Von Mel Mondo Via Heidevan Portnadoran this is a beautiful example of the breed, I really liked her shape and balance and her head is developing really well with a dark expressive eye and well set ears, she stands true in front on amply boned forelegs and compact feet, body is well ribbed and topline firm with a tidy underline and good rear angulation, she moves so well going smoothly with good reach and drive. I shall be interested to see how she matures on.

PG (7,2) 1 Lamberts Seittor Voodoo Spell JW a medium sized feminine girl of sound construction with a lovely head and dark almond eye, set on a strong slightly arched neck, she has ample bone for her size and stands on straight forelegs and slightly sloping pasterns, firm topline and strong loin with muscled thighs, well bent stifles and moving soundly with purpose, 2 Dobsons Chatavory Coco Chanel this girl has a pleasing overall shape and a quality coat with rich tan markings, compact in body and beautifully balanced with matching angulation fore and aft , lovely headpiece with strong muzzle, dark almond eye and good earset, strong neck with good development in forechest and depth of chest, sound out and back and driving out well with strength from the rear, just a little saggy underneath which put her 2nd today but lots to like here. 3 Truemans Jaegerot Miss Fabulous

LB (7.1) 1 Hislops Olearia Queen Of Clubs this is rather an elegant 2 yr old, clean in outline and with everything where it should be, attractive head with width to skull which could develop a touch more and neat well used ears which enhanced her expression, deep through the chest with a strong level topline to moulded croup and shapely hindquarters with a good bend of stifle, carries herself well on the move covering the ground freely and easily 2 Lamberts Seittor Cast a Spell a feminine girl with a well proportioned body, clean head with enough wrinkle and good width between the ears , dark eye and neat high set ears, she has a lovely arch to her neck which flows cleanly into a good lay of shoulder, chest is down to elbow and ribcage is well developed, movement flows in profile but she wasn’t quite as accurate behind as the winner 3 Eyres Chantavory’s Je Vous Amie

OB (5) I could have done with a few more green cards for this class which wa quality right down the line 1 and BCC. BOB, G1 and RBIS Dunhill-Halls CH Fantasa Lucky Seven, I never expected to be making history when I awarded this girl the CC today. All I can say is she is just fabulous from every aspect, strong and muscular yet still feminine and so well proportioned making the perfect silhouette. She has a good head and clean expressive eye, strong slightly arched neck flowing into well laid shoulders and standing true in front on strong forelegs and compact feet, mature in body with deep chest giving plenty of heart room and strong backline to muscular loin and well angulated quarters, such a powerful and easy mover and covering the ground with a good length of stride and total accuracy. Today she was faultless in her performance and you can clearly see the rapport between dog and handler. I was delighted to award her the CC and BOB today breaking the breed record, congratulations on a wonderful achievement ! 2 and RBCC Baillie and Toppings Stairvale Grace Von Rottsworth another strong b with a clean and flowing outline, expressive head with well used ears and dark clean eye, lovely neck that flows into good shoulders, when you put your hands on her body everything is in place and you can feel the level of fitness she carries, firm in topline to well set tail and strong hindquarters, to be picky she sometimes stands a little overstretched behind making her look overangulated which she actually isn’t, presented in a sleek, shiny and well marked coat, smooth and easy on the move covering the ground with a good length of stride 3 Cartwright and Cartwright CH Steigen Silky Nutmeg Ganash
