SKC all breeds championship show 18/05/2025 A very enjoyable day as always judging this breed. I love the sportsmanship between the exhibitors, it really is quite refreshing ! PGD (2) 1 McLure’s Pines Mansion at Kanukalos. A 16 months b/t who is developing very well. Pleasing head and eye with strong muzzle, muscular neck into a good lay of shoulder and balanced in front and rear angulation. Very sound on the move and extending well in front. Presented in a quality coat with a good sheen 2. Edwards’ Hightimbers Walnut. 3 yrs old and whilst making a nice picture on the stack, not quite the bone or substance of the winner but with a strong masculine head and dark eye, moderate length of neck and standing true in front, well proportioned body and holding a good topline, from the front he is just a little narrow all through and still needs to develop in chest and forechest, I would also like to see him carry a little more weight. Not displaying the reach and drive of the winner OD 3(0) Three really nice dogs of good quality here and I believe I have judged all of them before and liked them. Today movement played the biggest part in my placings.1 and BD Foakes’ Hightimbers Oaks of Tutelary. This 3 yr b/t put on a great performance on the move really striding out well and displaying good reach and drive, he has an excellent well proportioned head with dark eye giving an intelligent expression, moderate stop and strong muzzle, shoulders are well laid, chest deep and elbows close with a strong topline held on the move and I found him to be well muscled all through, presented in good sense coat and featherings 2 and RBD Whitmore and Whites Johan Hovi-Raj of Driftingsky (imp SVN what I noticed immediately about this handsome boy was his super round and compact feet, something which I have found lacking in this breed in the past, he has good height to length ratios with a firm topline to slightly sloping croup and is nicely angulated in the rear, very sound on the move but just pipped by the animation of the winner today. 3 Tyerman and Challoner Farmwatch Snow Shadow PGB 2(0)
1 and RBB McLure’s Hightimbers Ticket to Dream at Kanukalos. 5 year old mature b presented in lovely coat and condition, pleasing head with dark oval eye giving an intelligent expression, good lay of shoulder, tidy elbows and a strong firm topline, in profile she moved out freely but was a little close behind on the away 2 Robinson and Brown’s Hightimbers Oreo Cookie. A 2½ yr b with feminine traits, slightly narrower in head than the winner but with a dark oval eye and enough depth to muzzle, lovely neck flowing into an ample lay of shoulders, balanced by a moderately angulated rear and a well feathered tail of good length, not quite the bone of the winner and although in profile she moved out soundly, she needs to come together in front a little more OB 2(0)
1 BB, BV and BOB McLure’s Kanukalos Burletta VW (AI). I don’t think many judges can fail to be impressed by this beautiful medium sized b/t 10 yr b who belies her age in both condition and movement and her presentation was top class too. She has a lovely head and expressive eyes with well set and well used ears, and stands true in front on straight forelegs and compact feet, she has a well proportioned body with a good spring of rib, deep chest and a firm level topline to slightly sloping croup. Tail is well furnished of good length and carried correctly, such a sound and effortless mover holding her shape as she goes round. All topped off with a dense well conditioned shiny coat 2. Hemsworth’s Hightimbers Travel Tickets another lovely veteran and one I have judged and liked before, solid black and strong but still feminine all through, well proportioned head with lovely dark eye and keen expression, strong neck and good shoulders, well ribbed body, good depth of brisket. Still lots to like but I have seen her move better than she did today. Bridgette Bodle
