Neapolitan Mastiffs

My grateful thanks to the two exhibitors who made the trek to this show to exhibit their dogs, it is always a pleasure to judge this breed.

PD (1) 1 and BD, BP and BOB Evans Makaevo Georgio a good size majestic looking dog, large well proportioned head with short muzzle and defined stop, eyes well set but a tad loose although still acceptable, muscular neck into moderate shoulders and strong bone all through, long ribcage, needs to firm in topline, once settled he displayed that distinctive bear like action whilst covering the group with good strides, just fractionally stronger in hock than his sister which was the deciding factor for BOB PG (0) O (0)

PB (1) 1 and BB Evans Makaevo Generosa Black b very well handled and with so much to like, she has a really good body shape, slightly longer than high and strongly made with good bone and substance, large head with open nostrils and acceptable eyes, I loved her movement in profile which was in keeping with the standard but with some animation, she is however rather weak in hock which was the deciding factor for BOB but I’ve no doubt she will tighten as she matures.
