My first time awarding CC’s in Irish Red and White Setters, I had a super entry with some lovely dogs to go over, my thanks to the exhibitors for entering under me and for taking my decisions so sportingly. To my stewards Jane and Graham my thanks for keeping the ring running so smoothly. My Dog Challenge Certificate was awarded to Roanjora Cremant De Savoie avec Eusanit JW, the Reserve Dog Challenge Certificate going to Spyefire Reyt Bobby Dazzler. It was my pleasure to award the Bitch Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed to the superb Sh Ch Charnborough Charisma of Danwish JW, with the Reserve Bitch Challenge Certificate being awarded to Romaunt Ain't Misbehaven. My Best Puppy was Coolfin Baltic Turn the Page and my Best Veteran to the ever youthful Sh Ch Alanea Game Reserve with Danwish.

1st Sh Ch Alanea Game Reserve with Danwish (Miss T Gardner)

A cracking dog who presents a very good shape on the stack and moving. His head is balanced with a good stop, strong muzzle, domed skull, correct ear set, dark round eyes with a masculine expression. Slightly arched neck, well laid shoulders, good length and return of upper arm, deep chest with plenty of fill in front. Level back, good ribbing, strong loin, very powerful quarters, well bent stifles and neat feet. He held his shape and topline on the move. Excellent colouring and markings. Pushed hard for top honours just lost his shape in the challenge a little which cost him. My Best Veteran.

2nd Carrick Shadow Dog at Alanea (Imp Pol) (Mrs A Tattersall)

Another super veteran, a medium sized dog with a balanced outline. I like his head and expression, good breadth to skull, defined stop, super dark eye and ear set all giving a masculine expression. Good through the neck into well-made front, would like him tighter in elbow which showed on the move today. Legs well boned. Well made in body with a good spring of rib and depth in forechest, firm loin and held his topline throughout. Well-made quarters with moderate angulation. Moved well in profile just not as tidy as the winner today.

1st Gilliegrae So Berry Excited (Mr G J & Mrs G A Hart)

Very much a baby and clearly enjoying himself today, which was good to see. Just six months old and a super type, progressing in all the right directions. Head is balanced and should finish well, has a kind expression with a little devilment behind the eyes. Good outline on the stack, body of good overall proportions. Not quite found his feet on the move yet but should do so in time.

1st Roanjora Cremant De Savoie avec Eusanit JW (Miss R & Miss S & Mrs T McDonald & Westwood & Westwood)

What a very good young dog this is. His head is balanced and broad in proportion to his body, has a good stop and well set ears. His neck is strong, and he has super front angulation. Plenty of heart and lung room, depth of chest and powerful quarters. He covers plenty of ground on the move and has great forward reach. I liked him a lot and, in the challenge, he upped his game and held his shape throughout to clinch the DCC, his first, good luck with the other two.

2nd Rhoswendale Game Is on Again for Viszaset (Imp Fin) (Mr S & Mrs M & Miss N Martin & Martin & Green)

This 2 year old has a masculine head, good stop, kind eye giving an appealing expression. Super neck into a well-made front assembly, shoulders well laid with a good return of upper arm. Stands on good legs and neat feet. He is well made in body, good spring of rib and firm in loin, held his topline well. Quarters need to come to complete the picture. Not quite as fluid on the move as the winner, especially in profile and behind. Just needs some maturity to complete the picture.

1st Roanjora Cremant De Lux Copperwhite JW (Mrs L R Ward)

Stood alone but I thought this chap very smart with a lot to like about him. Litter brother to the CC winner. He has a super outline on the stack, a super head piece, square muzzle, good eye and a masculine expression. Good strength in neck into shoulders which are well laid. Stands on good legs and neat feet. For his age he has a good depth of chest and spring of rib. Well-made quarters, stifles well bent and good width to his thigh. Moved out well with a good action. Considered him for top honours but I thought he just needed a little more finish. Should have a bright future ahead of him.

1st Spyefire Reyt Bobby Dazzler (Mr P J & Mrs E A Titterton)

I liked the boy on the stack, he presents with a clean balanced outline, is beautifully presented and in super condition. His head is well shaped, square muzzle and eyes are well shaped, I would like them a shade darker, masculine in expression. Good length of neck into a well-made front. He has depth to his chest and stands on well boned legs. Well made in body firm in topline, ribs well sprung. Quarters well made, decent bend of stifle, short from hock to heel. On the move he did enough with an effortless action to take the class. In the challenge he lost some of his umph and his shape which cost him against the younger dog, so today had to be content with the RCC.

2nd Sh Ch Romaunt Lust for Life (Mr J A Barney)

Very typy dog who really gave his handler a tough time, well made, his head is balanced well-proportioned with a kind eye, ears well set giving a masculine expression. Strong neck into a well-made front. Shoulders well placed, stands on well boned legs and good feet, held his topline throughout. Enough depth of chest, well rounded ribs and a firm loin. For me I would like a little more back end to complete the picture. A tad unsettled on the move but when he got into a stride he covered the ground well.

1st Coolfin Baltic Turn The Page (Miss P Jakins)

A smart puppy with lots to like about her at this age, everything in the right place and holding her shape well on the stack. I liked her head piece, which is coming along nicely, giving a feminine expression. She scored in front assembly, long neck into well set shoulders, stands on good legs. Well made in body and quarters coming along well. Moved out well with a good action to take the class and later Best Puppy.

2nd Coolfin The Ecstasy of Gold at Caradilis (Ms D & Mr A O’kelly & Hancock)

Litter sister to the winner and another pleasing girl, not quite the refinement in head of the winner. She is well made, strong neck into well set shoulders, legs well boned and good depth of chest for her age, would like tighter feet. Body proportions good into well-made quarters. Moved out well.

1st Coolfin Baltic Turn The Page (Miss P Jakins)

2nd Hitides Birthday Surprise (Mrs E & Mrs C Birch & West)

This young lady was very much at the growing stage and not quite as balanced as the winner today, tended to be a bit soft in topline. He head is well made with a good shape, feminine in expression. Neck in to shoulders OK, I would like a bit more return of upper arm. Good through the body which is well made and well made quarters. Needs to be a bit more fluid on the move, which she will do as she matures.

1st Settersay Targaryen Lowdon (Miss V Jarvis)

Presents a clean outline and is very typy. Her head piece is appealing with a good eye giving a feminine expression. Decent front assembly, stands on well boned legs, I would like a shade more lay back of shoulder. Good length of neck, well made in body, enough spring of rib but needs to fill her frame which she will do as she matures. Back end is good, moderate bend of stifle. Moved out well to take the class.

2nd Rubethan Florentine of Aislingwood (Mrs G Hawkins)

Another typy lady with a lot to like about her, good overall outline, head is pleasing, super neck into well set shoulders, plenty of depth of chest, stands on well boned legs. Good spring of rib, a shade to much covering. Quarters well made with a decent bend of stifle. Needs a bit more enthusiasm on the move but did enough to take this place.

3rd Corranroo Comeback at Hitides (Mrs E & Mrs C Birch & West)

Limit Bitch Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1st Romaunt Ain't Misbehaven (Mr J A Barney)

I liked this bitch on the stack and she really excelled on the move. She has a pretty feminine head and expression, well defined stop and a good eye. She is well made, strong neck into well set shoulders, would like her a little tighter in elbow, correct depth of chest, into a good spring of rib. Her topline was firm and she has well-made hindquarters, with a good bend of stifle. Won this class on her super profile movement and then was top of her game in the challenge to take the RCC. Should have a bright future ahead of her.

2nd Roanjora Crémant D'alsace JW (Mr R G, Mrs A D & Miss R McDonald)

Another very typy bitch who looked impressive on the stack. She has a lovely headpiece, well defined stop, correct shape to skull, a good eye all giving a soft expression. She is well made throughout, shoulders are well laid back, straight front and well boned legs. Enough spring of rib but still needs a little more maturity in body. I would like a better finish to her croup and a shade more bend of stifle. She was positive on the move with a good action but not as fluid as the winner today. I am sure she will do well.

A super class to judge with some lovely dogs to go over.

1st Sh Ch Charnborough Charisma of Danwish JW (Miss T Gardner)

What a super lady, for me fits the standard so well. I like her head piece, which is well made, super dark eyes, well set ears all giving a feminine expression. She has the most super neck into well set shoulder. Standing on well boned legs and tight feet. Correct front angulation and depth of chest, well ribbed up. Muscular hindquarters, with a good return of stifle and hocks well let down. Stylish and sound on the move, holding her topline correctly throughout, excellent rear drive and good tail carriage. She was presented in super coat and condition, good flat silky texture of clear pearl white with nice red patches and finished with lovely feathering. My pleasure to award her the CC and BOB.

2nd Alanea Silhouette (Mrs A Tattersall)

Another lovely bitch, presents a lovely outline in profile, slightly shorter coupled than the winner. She has a super head piece with lovely dark eyes to give a feminine expression, short strong neck into well laid shoulders, enough depth of chest. Well made in body with well sprung ribs, short loin and holds her level topline well. Strong well-made quarters, hocks well let down. Not as fluid on the move as the winner, close up for the RCC, just pipped by the limit winner who held her shape better in the runoff.

3rd Sh Ch Ambancy This Is Me (Mr N & Mrs J Barnes)
