Manchester Championship Show – 18th January 2025 - Basenjis

My thanks to Manchester Championship show for inviting me to judge my principle breed and award my first set of challenge certificates, it was an honour and a privilege. Thank you to my stewards that kept my ring running efficiently and especially Mr Barry McCartney. Thank you to all the exhibitors for your entry and for accepting my decisions.

Class 1349 Junior Dog (2,1)

1 Danesi’s Abdiscovery Mr Paradise, 12 month old red and white male. Still maturing, good outline and nicely proportioned. Would like more condition on him. Good head, with dark eyes. Good length of neck, level top line with high tail set with a good curl of tail. Deep brisket into a defined waist, nicely angulated in the hindquarters. Good feet. Moved well just needs more time to mature.

Class 1352 Open Dog (7, 2)

1 Williams & Wrights’ Ch Nl Ch Mawali Going for Gold, 4 year old red and white male. Had it all together today. Masculine head with good wrinkle and definition and dark almond shaped eyes. Good length of neck with a beautiful crested arch. Forearms clean and parallel with medium width front. Feet could be a little tighter. Deep brisket into tucked elbows. Maintain level topline throughout, covering the ground with ease with his long swinging stride. Strong hindquarters with moderate angulations. Tail set well and tightly curled. Shown in excellent condition. Pleased to award him DCC & BOB.

2 Hallam, Kit & Gillespie’s Am Ch Klassic’s Cloudside Walker (Imp USA), 2 year old red and white male. Good head with plenty of definition with dark almond shaped eyes and pricked ears well set. Good front, well boned with neat feet. Level topline would have liked his tail set a little higher. Moderate angulation on hindquarters. When settled moved well. RCC

Class 1353 Veteran Dog (3)

1 Young’s Vestoid Romulus. 9 year old red and white male of good proportions. Not showing his age and showed well after his break from the ring. Lovely expressive head with excellent wrinkle, looking alert at all times. Good length of neck, well crested. Good medium width of front with parallel forearms. Nice and square in outline with good strong level topline. Showed well and moved effortlessly around the ring. Pushed hard for top honours. BVIB

2 Knowles’ Ch Tokaji Klassic Trickster at Sarawana VW. 8 year old tri male with a lovely square outline. Good head and nice dark eyes, though not as alert as he could have been. Nice level topline maintained on movement. Deep brisket into a nice tuckup. Nice oval feet. Good tail set with a nice curl.

Class 1355 Puppy Bitch (2)

1 English & English’s Aksaifleet Dada Dunia of Torqmonky. 11 month old red and white bitch. Nice feminine head with plenty of wrinkle, nice dark eyes, a little long in muzzle. Still needs time to mature. Good length of neck well crested. Level top line, tail set could be a tad higher with a single curled tail. Handled well and moved consistently. Looking forward to seeing how she matures. PBIB.

2 Holloway’s Aksaifleet Daydream Diana. 11 month old red and with bitch. Litter sister to 1. Another lovely feminine bitch, with good expression. Would have liked her eyes to be a tad darker. Still needs time to mature but looking forward to seeing how she matures.

Class 1356 Junior Bitch (3)

1 Stratton’s Justartee This is Me. 12 month old red and white bitch. Bigger in build then the other in this class but well proportioned. Pretty feminine head with dark eye and good wrinkle. Lovely length of neck with good arch. Would have liked a little more infill. Level topline and maintained on movement. Had it all together today and showed well for her handler.

2 Knowles’ Sarawana Dragonfire Rising. 13 month old red and white bitch. Much finer type that 1. Ultra feminine in her expression, dark almond shaped eyes, good length of neck. Overall she had a lovely outline but just need more condition on her today.

Class 1357 Post Graduate Bitch (3)

1 Knowles’ Sarawana Dragon’s Conquest. 13 month old red and white bitch, litter sister to 2 in previous class. Lovely square outline on this bitch. Finely boned and petite. Attractive head with nice dark eyes. Good chest and deep brisket into tuckup. Level top line with good tail set and curl. Moved well.

2 Knowles’ Sarawana Dragonfire Rising.

Class 1358 Limit Bitch (2,1)

1 Hardy & Hallam’s Tokaji Memphis Belle. 2 year old red and white bitch. Very elegant and feminine. Pretty head with nice dark eyes and alert. Good length of neck without any thickness. Level topline, with good underline. Would have liked her a little more settled on the move.

Class 1359 Open Bitch (6,2)

1 Nash’s Tokaji Moon Over Miami with Mutoko JW Shcex OSW. 6 year old tri bitch in super condition and grabbed my attention from the start. Feminine head with nice dark almond shaped eyes with good wrinkle, with small hooded ears giving an alert expression. Well arched neck giving a lofty head carriage. Medium width front, good bone and long forearms with neat feet. Strong back with level topline and balanced. Strong hindquarters with good tailset with a single curl. Moved out well with a tireless swinging stride. Pleased to award BCC.

2 Dunson’s Ch & Dutch Ch Mawali Four Get Me Not. 4 year old red and white bitch with a beautiful outline. Feminine head and expression with dark eyes. Good crested neck, into shoulder. Good front of medium width with nice straight legs, feet could be a little tighter. Short coupled and great angles on hindquarters. Nicely tight curled tail with good set. Pushed hard for 1. RCC

Class 1360 Veteran Bitch (4,2)

1 Gray & Gray’s Ch Jisgard Daydream Believer VW. 12 year old vintage tri bitch who still loves being a show girl. In great condition for her age. Head held proudly with good alert expression, eyes could be a tad darker. Strong neck of good length, into strong level topline. Would like a little more infill of chest. Moved out well.

2 Holloway’s Aksaifleet Russki Rose. 8 year old red and white bitch. Nice square outline with short level top line. Lovely feminine head with a dark eye, good wrinkle with small hooded ears. Moderate angulation in hindquarters. Moved ok.
