Crufts - Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) 7th March 2025

I want to thank the Crufts Committee for inviting me to judge and fulfilling a lifelong dream. Extended gratitude for inviting my Daughter to steward and creating a special memory. To my wonderful stewards Lyn and Emily for keeping the classes flowing, you did a superb job. And to each and every exhibitor for entering your beautiful dogs, I thank you.

DCC/B.O.B. 8141 - Fr/ch/int Ch Definitely Maybe Drop It Like It's Hot (Mr J, Miss M & Miss H Borges, Jolidon & Luy) - My star of the day. 3yr old cream. He entered the ring with a look at me attitude and never gave up. Small, compact and solid construction without coarseness. Straight front and good depth in chest. Correct Chihuahua head and saucy expression possessing a smile that makes his large round dark eyes sparkle. He carries his large ears without disturbance. Correct dentition. Enough length in neck leading to a superb topline perfect tail carriage and that flat furry tail that this breed requires. He moves with drive and spirit, and his happy disposition never wears. Looking equally as good standing and moving. In profile he is stunning. Having fun with his handler and not fazed by the noise around the big rings. He extended this attitude to the group, earning him a well-deserved Group 4. Congratulations.

RDCC 8206 - Esp/cr/slo/rus Ch Omg Omg S Lipetskih Ozer (Mrs N Kriuchkova) - I was really nit picking with these 2. Another cream, 3yr old. I couldn’t find much to separate them and my end decision came down to consistency of showmanship on the stand. Well-schooled moving with drive and beautiful in profile. Tail set high and carried up and over whilst on the move. Firm topline, slightly arched neck, typical head and expression. Handled professionally.

BCC 8187 - Jahneemahs Just The Ticket (Mrs E Huntley) - Crm just 16mth and I was later told gaining her title today. Small and dainty with substance. Typical head, good dentition and large round eyes, dark pigment. Large ears set correctly. Her expression melted me, best of the day. Nice length of neck, slightly arched. Spirit level topline. Flat furry tail set correctly and carried high. Good rear angulation and straight front set well under a nice depth in chest. The more she moved the more settled she became and she kept showing which gave her the edge in the challenge. Patiently handled to get the best out of her. I’d have been happy to send her through to the group but for the male edging forward on attitude . My notes read that she deserves a Champion title and I was thrilled to learn that today she won her 3rd CC.

RBCC 8244 - Arkoschi Oh My Tweed JW (Ms L Taylor) - This Gold 2yr old is so pretty and holds a beautiful shape. Her head properties are just lovely, with a nice round eye and dark pigment. She too has a melting saucy expression, that made me smile. Dainty yet study in frame. Slightly arched neck. Level topline. High set tail that she never drops. Rear angulation is excellent and straight front set well under good chest. Moving with ease around the ring. I imagine she is a dream to show. Taking RBCC in strong competition. Again my notes read that she deserves a Champion title and I can’t wait for her to get it.

BPIB 8160 - Diamonchi Italian Stallion (Mrs D Fothergill) - 8mth, almost white. What a special boy he is, has champion written through him. It’s impossible to ignore his smart profile and look at me attitude. I believe his head will get stronger. He is dainty and will be more compact with maturity. He has typical characteristics of the breed. Slightly arched neck, level topline and super tail set carried perfectly. A joy to watch him move around the ring. A very exciting future lies ahead for this cocky youngster.

BVIB 8202 - Int/am/sp/fin/slo/cr/blr/rus Ch Fujiyama S Lipetskih Ozer Ww18/21 (Mrs N Kriuchkova) - A very handsome Veteran . He drives around the ring with a commanding attitude. Moving soundly and keeping a lovely profile. Constantly attentive to his handler. Standing with a straight front, and very nice rear angulation. Flat furry tail, set and carried correctly. Level topline with enough neck. Strong in head, ears set well and pigment still superb.

2nd 8157 - Ritagold Ice Warrior at Lemaritz ShCM (Mrs L M Evans) Sound cream, holding good shape and particularly strong in front. Standing 2nd to a perfectly schooled contender. He has a strong profile with correct tailset. Lost out to a stronger head.

2nd 8155 - Lemaritz to Infinity (Mrs L M Evans) 9mth red. Smart puppy but not the maturity or confidence of 1. Strong front movement. He has the correct height to length. Straight topline and nice reach of neck. He has nice head, dark pigment and sweet expression.

1st 8146 - Anadeia Nallion at Dreamcrewes (Mrs M Crew) 11mth gold. Dainty, strong boned and compact he has a smart profile. Typical head properties with a definite stop and strong skull carrying well set ears. His tail set and carriage is excellent. Moving well and will improve with maturity. Lots to like about him.

2nd 8227 - Copymear Caught in The Act NAF (Mr S J Rooney) 8mth handsome puppy. He has potential to show off a strong profile and I’m sure as he gains confidence, he will be an eye catcher. He is a lovely shape. Correct dentition, correct large round eye and fabulous pigment. Super ears and his expression is lovely. Needs to settle on the move.

1st 8228 - Chirouxe Come Together (Ms L J Russell) A smart 15 mth, well-marked tri colour. Moved with drive and stood attractively paying full attention to his handler. Needs to strengthen in front. Good depth in chest. His head is smart with correct dentition, a saucy expression and nice eyes and ears. Pigment is jet black. In super condition. He has lovely length of neck leading to good topline and a tail that he uses to advantage. Promising junior.

2nd 8136 - Alderxena Pocket Rocket (N Alexander) Close decision, like him plenty. Dainty red sable, he doesn’t stop showing, attentive to his handler, they have a lovely relationship. He is small and dainty and has some v nice assets. Tail set well but carried a little tight. His head is correct with good eye and ear. 1 gave me a little extra sparkle.

3rd 8171 - Zoomeera Home and Dry (Messrs C P & C E Hartley & Fahey) Another smart male who has the assets to see him placed higher. He has a lovely head and beautiful expression and presented in lovely condition. Showmanship was not as positive as the other 2 but I thought him worthy of a critique.

1st 8166 - White Angel of Old Colour-Pc Dei Delfini Di Pescara Jch (Mr P Giannandrea). Crm almost white, 21mths. Similar to my main winners and considered for the RCC due to his type. Smartly presented and in lovely condition. Moves well fore and aft. Strong rear angulation. Tail set very nicely and carried correctly. Level topline and enough neck. Ears set well. Lovely dark pigment creating a lovely Chihuahua smile. Not the most excessive showmanship but his assets make up for that and I do prefer him free standing.

2nd 8174 - Xmas Dancer De Petit Roi Mojito at Casiatodo (Imp Deu) (Miss E Hicks) Fwn/sbl. He is full of spirit and very smart in profile. He has good head properties and enough muzzle. Dark pigment with large round eye but I would prefer less white as this creates a startled expression. Slightly arched neck, level topline and flat furry tail set high and never drops it. Moves true in both directions.

1st 8245 - Starceylon Checkmate (Mr C & Mrs L Tyson) Dainty 2yr old. Best mover in this class of mixed quality exhibits. Small and dainty, and willing to please his handler. Mounds of sassy attitude in a dainty package of equal portion. Exquisite expression, dark pigment, good eye and definite stop. I would prefer a larger ear although they are set at the correct angle on a strong skull. He is in proportion, height, length and attributes with nothing overdone. Super mover. A pleasure to judge this little fire cracker, and I imagine a joy to handle.

2nd 8149 - Lozmarchi Sweetest Taboo (Mrs L S & Mr M Daly) 4yrs Self pigmented. Very nice head and attributes with correct expression. A smart boy who is hard to ignore when moving around the ring. Although he was a little flat on the stand, he has a really lovely attitude when moving, and his movement is good.

1st 8216 - Anadeia Ovation for Mikichi JW (Ms M D Poyner) Dainty, solid cream. Full of character. I really like his overall shape and he brings a lovely style to the show ring. His head and attributes are strong with a super dark pigment and saucy expression. He has a good length of neck with a super topline leading to an excellent tailset and carriage. He moves well and has great personality. Keeping his handler on her toes.

2nd 8170 - Jorazan Roody Red Sox JW (Mrs A Halls) 3 yrs, Smart red, dainty swift moving. He has the correct dentition, typical saucy expression with dark pigment, large round eye and ideal ear placement. He keeps a straight front with a nice depth of chest, enough neck and level topline. His tail is flat, furry and set and carried well. He is keen to please his handler and very attentive. Lots to like about this boy. Preferred the shape and substance of my winner.

3rd 8182 - Ch Diamonchi Button Moon for Moltobello (Mrs S T J Hunt) 6yr old, red. I love this dog. Very nicely constructed and moves very soundly. I liked his overall size and profile. Typical Chihuahua head, good dentition and large dark melting eyes. Very good handler. Worthy of a critique in this exceptionally strong class.

1st 8250 - Bramerita Talulah Truffle (Miss A Wilcox) 8yrs. Gold. BVB. Unfortunate to meet a male in such top form as she was equally worthy of the best Veteran award. Nicely constructed, Feminine in appearance and clean head properties. Ideal size, correct height to length. Shows nicely keeping a level topline and tailset carried well. Good length of neck and clean rear angulation. Moved well in front and with grace. Ideal size.

2nd 8153 - Jicara Strike A Blow (Mrs H Dodd). Petit Crm fawn. Sound mover. Presenting a good profile. Not as strong in head as 1 although her eyes are lovely and her ears of good size and correct placement. She has a level topline with the correct tail set/carriage.

1st 8183 - Moltobello Game of Thrones (Mrs S T J Hunt) 9mth white with huge promise. Strong contender in the challenge, only giving in to immaturity. Exquisite head, with good dentition, definite stop and correct muzzle. Large ears, set correctly. Good length of neck, level topline and correctly set, flat furry tail carried up and over. Her movement is sound and she drives around the ring with attitude. Compact and dainty. She oozes quality and was handled kindly. Exciting Puppy. BPB

2nd 8163 - Moltobello Miss Moonstone at Diamonchi (Mrs D Fothergill) Red. Litter sister to 1 and I’m sure will change places throughout their show career. Different type and not yet as compact as 1 but she doesn’t give much else away and has quality in abundance. Handled kindly. These two affix owners are going to have a good year.

1st 8178 - Hollichi Designer Baby (Mrs K L Hollister) Just 12 mths and I really like her. Although she isn’t the most confident showgirl, she holds a lovely shape, well bodied, good substance yet remains dainty. Her head is correct and she is very pretty, scissor bite, correct expression, large round eye and dark pigment, large ears set correctly. Level topline with good tail. Moves nicely both ways.

2nd 8191 - Pepeetolynn Tea Black (Mrs L M Jones)11mth. Tri. Caught my eye entering the ring with sass and cheekiness. A true saucy expression. She stands with a straight front set under a good chest and level topline and correct tail. She needs to strengthen on movement but she has time and could be worth the wait. Hopefully she will keep maturing.

1st 8172 - Zoomeera West End Girl (Messrs C P & C E Hartley & Fahey) Red/fwn. Nicely constructed with a lot of quality. Not the most exuberant showgirl, which is a shame because she moves nicely and has a beautiful head and expression, with the darkest pigment and her ears are set correctly. Straight front, level topline and good rear angulation. A good tailset. Her coat is in tip top condition. She has clear admiration for her handler.

2nd 8145 - Sliverchi Dixie Darling (Miss C Conway) Petite from every angle, and showing her socks off. 13mth Gold. A typical head with good dentition and attributes in proportion. She moves nicely and does command attention. Preferred the tail carriage of 1.

1st 8233 - Silverchi Endless Love (Miss V L Silverstein) This girl has got a lovely body and when she moved, she really pleased me. Clean construction with good substance whilst remaining small and dainty. Front set well under a good drop in chest. Typical head with a very pretty expression. Good length in muzzle, large dark round eyes and correctly set ear. Enough neck leading to a level topline. Strong rear angulation. Confident showgirl, her tail doesn’t stop wagging.

2nd 8247 - Yanet Leo Valentina at Starceylon (Imp Svk) (Mr C & Mrs L & Miss A Tyson) Dual purpose of sound construction . Typical Chihuahua attributes and moved well. Larger proportions than 1.

1st 8185 - Moltobello Second Glance (Mrs S T J Hunt). Gold. She is a solid girl who holds her shape to advantage. Ideal size. Typical saucy expression with head attributes that do not disappoint. Correct length of muzzle and strong dentition. Straight front set well under chest, Good length in neck, level topline and correct flat furry tail set and carried ideally. Strong rear angulation. At 3yrs I’m surprised she still qualifies for this class as her qualities suggest .

2nd 8198 - Twiglet Tiny Dancer (Mrs S Knight) taking a close 2nd in a class of quality exhibits. This 2yr old has similar attributes with my notes reading the same as 1, with 1 just taking the edge on expression.

A class full of quality bitches, many not bringing their best performance to the floor which had to influence my final decisions. All 5 placed were of CC quality.

1st 8161 - Ch Diamonchi Miss Beautiful JW (Mrs D Fothergill) Red. Just what the standard calls for being small, dainty, compact, swift moving and saucy. Lovely head properties with dark pigment and good dentition. Straight front. Slightly arched neck. Level topline leading to a flat furry super tail set and carriage correctly. She covered the large ring with ease and must be a pleasure to handle. Unfortunately she flagged a little in the challenge against strong competition.

2nd 8243 - Ch Arkoschi Diamond in The Ruff JW (Ms L Taylor) Gold. Loved her overall shape and in super condition. She didn’t want to consistently use her tail today and this cost her . Nonetheless she is full of quality. With a beautiful head and expression. Slightly arched neck and level topline. Tail set well and when carried up and over creates a lovely profile. Moving around the ring she is very sound and a joy to watch
