It was my pleasure and privilege to judge the following classes at this prestigious show. Thank you to the Association for the invitation and their hospitality. Without the exhibitors there would be no show – thank you to all who entered and exhibited on the day.

Class: 599. Petcetera Any Variety Gundog - A.V. Brace

Entries: 21 Absentees: 13

1st How - Sawbridge (Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling) This was a well matched pair of exhibits. Similar size and balance. Both were sound and positive moving covering the ground easily and in unison with their handler.

2nd Nokes - Goldpaw (Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla) . Exhibits similar in breed attributes. Both good size and shape. Both shown in good coat and condition. They moved well together but not as co-ordinated as winner on the day.

3rd Bowen-Brooks - Tenshilling (Pointer)

1st Coode - Ch Warringah's Pippingarra JW Sgwc (Retriever (Labrador)

Well-constructed, top quality, yellow bitch of I consider exceptional breed type. Clean in outline with nothing overdone. Feminine head with kind eye and correct expression. Good bone quality, legs and feet. Good reach of neck leading into well placed shoulders. good depth of chest and spring of rib. Level topline, with correct otter tail. Strong well-muscled hind quarters. Her overall construction was displayed in her sound, true, steady movement covering the ground with ease. Shown in good condition.

2nd Pounds-Longhurst - Rosgar Dolly O'dare among Mossburn VW (Retriever (Golden)

Beautiful dark golden girl with lots to like. Feminine head with dark eyes and appealing expression. Good angles fore and aft. Well placed shoulders, good depth of body and spring of rib. Shown in firm condition. She retained her topline and tail carriage as she moved around the ring with purpose and drive,

1st Nixon - Ch Quintana Lunar Eclipse (German Shorthaired Pointer)

Feminine bitch of good size. Pleasing head and eye with kind, intelligent expression, she has good bone quality straight legs and tight feet. Strong neck and topline. Well balanced with excellent bone and substance. Covered the ground with a free-flowing stride. shown in fit condition

2nd Nixon - Ft Ch Quintana Cloud Berry VW (German Shorthaired Pointer)

Taller than 1st but still with lots to like. Feminine head with kind expression. Strong in neck and good depth of chest. Good topline and tailset. Well muscled quarters used to advantage on the move. Did not appear happy with being inside.

1st Smith- Pearkim Pokemon at Luanshya JW VW (Spaniel Cocker)

Masculine O/R dog, 8 yrs young! Balanced head without coarseness, correct dark eye with kind expression. Clean in neck, with good forequarters, ample bone and tight feet, good depth of chest, spring of rib and strength in loin. Short coupled and well angulated quarters. Really exuberant mover, settled well when he got into his stride displaying sound front and rear movement. A pleasure to go over this boy deserving of his placing on the day.

2nd Burgess - Melanitta Sinamay JW (NSDTR)

This girl possesses a well-balanced head, correct dark almond eyes with a friendly, alert expression Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders and good depth of body. Retained her topline and carried tail correctly on the move. At 7 yrs still agile, moving well with correct springy, jaunty gait and at one with her handler.

3rd Wright - Palton Pavarotti (Retriever Golden)

1st Pounds-Longhurst - Mossburn Golly Miss Molly JW (Retriever (Golden)

Impressed when entered the ring and was not disappointed on handling. 4 ½ yr old Mid golden, quality bitch with so much to like. Feminine head, with correct dark eye and expression. Good reach of neck, correct shoulder placement, and length of upper arm. Good bone and neat feet. Strong in topline with well set on tail, Good angles fore and aft which are used to advantage on the move. In super muscular condition. Balance all through with no exaggerations. Moved really well and in tune with her handler to win this class.

2nd Frusher & Slack - Chanangel When You Believe at Shersona (English Springer Spaniel)

Again, a balanced picture with nothing overdone. Pleasing head and kindly expression, Good length and layback of shoulder. Well developed chest, straight legs with good bone and tight feet. Good length, shape and depth of rib into strong loin. Short coupled and has well-muscled quarters. Shown in excellent condition. Correct gait with sound, free movement. Presented and handled well. Unfortunate to meet winner.

VHC Wright - Caldera Coral Dawn at Lassemista (German LH Pointer)

1st Watts - Oakmarsh (Chesapeake Bay Retriever)

Quality group sharing overall type in balance. Good heads and expressions. Well bodied and in shown in good condition. Moved out well in the challenge to win the class.

2nd Challis - Vizslanya (Hungarian Vizsla)

A strong team of similar type. In good coat and condition. and were well matched and handled. Thought to be my winners but on the day were not just as co-ordinated on the move as winners. Close decision.
