Thank you to Hilary and the committee of Guildford Show for not only the invitation to judge this year but for your very kind hospitality. Also thanks to my stewards for superb ring organisation. It really is a show with a lovely atmosphere. Finally thank you to all the lovely exhibitors for the privilege to judge your dogs and accepting my decisions with good grace.

Retriever (Chesapeake Bay)

1 Mayhew and Middleton’s Arnac Bay Jellicoe,

Lively 9 month old bitch. Well domed shaped head with decent proportions, correct stop and muzzle with good depth and width, light amber eye, retaining femininity. dark pigment. Well off for bone with tight hare feet. Nice forechest and angulation with well developed ribs. Tight curls and oil in coat and good body condition. Moved well for such a youngster. RBOB & BP

1 Mayhew and Middleton’s Sh Ch Arnac Bay Hebe WGC ShCEx EW22 Thought she looked the full picture standing. Lovely head proportions with well carried ears. Straight front legs with good bone and neat feet. Deep, broad chest, balanced with good turn of stifle. So well muscled. Level topline with good tail carriage and excellent driving movement which was smooth and stylish. BOB.

2 Royle’s Battsrock Are You Ready, Darker in colour and rangier than 1. Finer in head and not as developed all over. Preferred him when he was standing free rather than being stacked, but looking for more masculinity. Level topline, good temperament.

1 Brown’s Yamakasi For Puplicity, Black boy with attractive head and face. Good topline. Very lively and moved well. Only 2 years old and probably still has some maturing to do. In excellent condition. RBOB

2 Trendle’s Lusam Cheeky Boy, Larger 10 year old boy with profuse coat. Attractive face with dark pigment. Good ribbing. Quite nice overall, just rather a lot of him.

1 Trendle’s Lusam Toodle Pip, ShCM Couldn’t believe this girl was 13 years old, in lovely condition and well muscled. Nice head with pretty ears, good teeth. Correct size, happy throughout, good topline, she just stole my heart. BOB

German Spitz (Mittel)

Junior (2,1)

1 Monks Rozibon Adventure Begins, Attractive 7 month old black and tan boy who took a bit of time to settle, but once he did, I could see his nice outline. Straight front and tight feet. Pricked ears and good neck in to level topline. Movement spritely. BP

Post Graduate (2,0)

1 Barnes’ Izlou Gossip Girl JW, Attractive feminine face and head with well set, erect, triangular ears. Lovely straight front legs and small, neat round feet. Felt she was all in proportion and feminine all through. Stood free with level topline, very alert. In clean condition and beautifully presented. Moved briskly and confidently. Really fell for this one. BOB and pleased to see was also awarded a place in the group.

2 Hall’s Dacfolke Artic Alupine at Pufnstuf, Lively boy with perky ears and good pigment. Alert with waggy tail and sound temperament. Good bone, just preferred overall proportions of 1.

1 Barnes Ch Izlou Shiver me Timbers, Attractive masculine head with broad and flattish skull. Good bone appropriate for size. Well bodied with good muscle throughout. Best of legs and feet and stood 4 square making an attractive outline showing off his profuse black coat. Effortless mover in a brisk manner. Very close between this dog and his daughter for BOB, but he had to give way to her today RBOB.

2 Monks’ Moons Rock Cross my Heart at Rozibon, Feminine head with attractive dark eye and pigment. Stands square with level topline. Well muscled. Moved steadily with a spring in her step.

3 Hall’s Pufnstuf Kiss da Paw

AV Graduate Stakes (42,26)

A few missing but actually a class full of quality and I easily could have placed at least 10 of those present.

1 Silsbury’s J’Adoremy Red Bounty Forever, Well schooled Shih Tzu who didn’t put a foot wrong. Typical head with large round, dark eyes. Large dropped folded ears disguised by coat. Well bodied and muscled. Smooth mover.

2 Rowe’s Boloria’s Sugar’n Spice, Really eye catching, strong wire haired dachshund. She has an attractive face and furnishings and excellent topline. Moved confidently and free. At one with her handler.
