Bon Accord Kennel Association – 6th July 2024
Thank you to the Committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely show and to the exhibitors for their entries and sporting acceptance of the placings and especially those who stayed for the Stakes Classes at the very end of the day.
Unfortunately a number of absentees, especially in the Working breeds, but I was pleased with the quality of my Group winner.
I really enjoyed my day, well worth the long trip from Norfolk.
Australian Shepherd
PG (2,0)
1st Webstel’s Louiston Hellfire – almost 2 yr old tri male, masculine head although I would like a little more width of muzzle, good shape and placement of eye, nicely angulated front and rear, square body shape. Would prefer a touch more muscle all over, movement steady and regular, good coat texture.
2nd McDonald’s Trust n You Baby of Blue Rimrock with Donurie (Imp Fra) – 18mth tri female who was a little out of coat, feminine head, would prefer a slightly less round eye, nice length of neck, good front angles, a touch straight behind but well muscled with strong hocks, movement could be more together but still developing all over.
L (4,2)
1st Wilson’s Rosschell Blue Whisper – 2 yr old blue merle dog in heavy coat, masculine head with moderate stop, nice almond eye shape, a touch short in neck, good front assembly. Square body shape, moderately angulated rear, good bend of stifle. Moved out freely with purpose.
2nd Crawford’s Louiston Lost Sister – almost 2 yr old female, sweet expression but muzzle could be stronger, nice shaped eye, well angulated front, a touch long in loin which makes her a little off square in body. Well muscled rear and moved with ease, well coated.
O (2,1)
1st Crawford’s Ch Mistyholly More Magic for Louiston – 7 yr old blue merle bitch – loved this girl, not surprised she is a Ch as she oozes quality and you wouldn’t guess she is a veteran! Feminine head with lovely expression and good underjaw, correct stop, lovely shape and placement of eye, good length of neck flowing into a square body with well angulated rear. Flowed around the ring with ease and grace, well deserved BOB
German Shepherd
O (4,3)
1st Smeaton’s Lorgyle Arran – 4 yr old good sized male, masculine head with good width of muzzle, would prefer a less round eye. A little upright in front, nice sloping topline with good flow through to tail, good rear angles and bend of stifle, a little lacking in hind muscle which showed in his movement today but he would probably have benefitted from a larger ring. Good long coat texture. BOB
Border Collie

A bit close behind at this stage but showing typical BC movement, good coat texture for a baby. BP

A little upright in shoulder, good forechest, straight topline with required sloping croup to tail. Rear angulation is good with well let down hocks. A bit close in front today coming to but regular even movement, well coated.
