Thank you to the Committee for asking me to judge at this lovely show and to the exhibitors for their entries and the great atmosphere around the ring. Unfortunately I didn’t get into my ring until 2pm which meant a long day for some exhibitors who were judged early but both my Group winners were in time for BIS.
Australian Shepherd SY (3,1)
1st Jarram & Whittingham’s Chalksville Strike a Deal at Kashaella – 17mth d, tri-colour, good ear set, lovely dark eye, good length of neck, tight elbows and good lay of shoulder. Well balanced, well coated body with correct proportions and good width throughout, well muscled rear, held his topline well on the move. Well handled.
2nd Davis & Walsh’s Rosschell Maid You Look – 10 mth b, tri-colour, lovely feminine head, good eye shape and colour, well set ears, would prefer a touch more length to neck, out a little at elbow but this will tighten with age, good shape and width to body, moved well, held her topline but a touch close behind. BP
Australian Shepherd O (2,0)
1st Jarram & Whittingham’s Chalksville’s Azrael at Cashaella – 2 ½ yr d, red merle, masculine, nicely balanced head with well set ears, good length of neck, front straight and elbows tight, good body proportions and width, strong rear with excellent angulation. Move freely, flowing around the ring. In lovely coat. Just preferred his sparkle on the move for BOB over his kennel mate.
2nd Simpson’s Amberslade Santa Ana Breeze at Javison – 7 ½ yr b, tri-colour, feminine head, eye a touch too round for me, would prefer a little more length of neck for balance. Good proportions and width to body, sufficient angulation, slight rise to croup. Well muscled for her age, moved with purpose
