LABRADORS
PUPPY (3, 2 abs)
1st Burroughs’ Annakay Colour Sargent. BP. RBOB.
Loved the shape of this 7 month old chocolate coloured male. Was impressed by his lay back of shoulder, well sprung barrel ribs, short strong loin, straight legs and quality bone. Attractive head with kind and gentle expression oozing with a desire to please. Moved with accurate footfall but was a little slow – moved out better in the challenge for BOB when he strode out well, covered the ground with ease, carried his tail well.
JUNIOR (1, 0 abs)
1st Burroughs’ Annakay Father Brown.
15 month old chocolate coloured male. Didn’t quite have the substance of his kennel mate who won Puppy, but has a happy attitude displayed by ever wagging tail. Strong and level top line, good length to rib cage, well sprung ribs, well bent stifle, firm backend and correct width between hocks, was straight and true when moving away, would have preferred more positive movement when coming towards. Was not in his best coat today.
LIMIT (2, 0 abs)
1st Newman’s Creamwood Silver Hawthorn. BOB.
Have done this dog well before, he has matured into a handsome dog, and his movement is straight and true coming and going, accurate in profile as well. Coat not the best today, but he is strongly built all through, has good muscle tone, and was active on the move. Well proportioned head, attractive eye with warm and gentle expression, strong neck, straight front, good bone, well laid shoulders, barrel shaped ribs, short coupled, well developed back end, ideal bend of stifle. He responded well to his expert handler, they make a great team.
2nd Griffin & Moulster’s Jenberry Bojo.
Sympathetically handled male with a kind and gentle expression. Moved actively, straight front, good coat and well presented. Carried his tail too high today, and for my preference he could do with more body.

POINTERS
PUPPY (4, 2 abs). Both 9 months old.
1st Ovel’s Alozia Zara at Jimaura. BP.
Lovely head on this liver and white bitch, nicely proportioned and well carried. Long muscular neck, well ribbed, deep brisket, good oval bone, tight well padded feet. Impressed with reach and drive on the move but she held her tail too high today which spoilt her outline. Very well handled and clean presentation.
2nd Welch’s Po-Latro Beyond Belief TAF.
A different type than 1st. Liked this orange and white male, and I am sure he will come on as he gains more experience of the show ring. He was not settled today, but I believe this was only his 2nd time out. Kind eye, strong neck, impressive ribs, oval feet, well turned stifle. Preferred the substance and head of winner today.
JUNIOR (3, 0 abs)
1st Brooksmith’s Millpoint Golden Pippin JW.
Took time for this 17 and a half month old orange and white bitch to settle, but once she did her free striding movement was there to be seen. Appealing well proportioned head, bright eyes and thin leathers, muscular neck, deep chest, straight front, well knit feet. Impressive ribs, good spring and length of ribcage, strong loin, plenty of turn of stifle. In the challenge for BOB just preferred the outline of the Open winner.
2nd Norbury’s Heartbury Matador
14 month old orange and white male. Well defined stop, correct concave muzzle. Strong oval bone, pasterns slightly sloping, oval feet, arched toes. Good length of ribcage, nice turn of stifle, tail lashed from side to side on the move, very well handled. Would have preferred slightly more width of chest, preferred the head of 1st – both of these features should improve as he matures.
3rd Mason’s Heartbury Tormenta over Nosam.
LIMIT (5, 1 abs)
1st Bird’s Droveborough’s The Gambit at Vinepoint.
Appealing head on this black and white male, liked the proportions of skull to muzzle, well shaped eye with kind expression. Straight front legs with strong bone standing on well cushioned feet. Well ribbed back, ribcage with good spring and depth, strong well coupled loin, plenty of depth through flank, stifles nicely bent, good width of thigh. Preferred the curves of outline of Open winner when choosing BOB.
2nd Mason’s H Tormenta over N.
This orange and white bitch was 3rd in Junior, she moved better here and covered the ground well with smooth action, she deserved her 2nd place. Good length of neck, firm top line, ideal ribcage which had good spring, length and depth. Muscular back end with well bent stifles and plenty of width across thighs, hocks low to the ground. Very well handled and presented.
3rd Ovel’s Hookwood Enchanted at Jimaura.
OPEN (6, 1 abs)
1st Norbury & Adams’ Heartbury Northern Lights JW. BOB. G2.
Loved her outline, a series of curves, everything flowing together, symmetrical and balanced from every angle. Well muscled, firm to the feel, moved very well with driving action from behind and reach in front, lashing tail action. Super balanced head, well chiselled, alert expression from kind eye. Straight front, oval bone, obvious sinews, tight feet. Matching angulation fore and aft with correct lay of shoulder, return of upper arm and good turn of stifle. Expertly handled, well presented orange and white coat.
2nd Ovel’s Jimaura I’m For Caroline. RBOB.
Well proportioned head, muscular neck with slight arch, impressive shoulder placement, deep through brisket and ideal width between forelegs. Well sprung ribs, positive top line, slight arch of loin. Hind legs parallel from the rear but I would have preferred slightly more bend of stifle. Carried herself well on the move and strode out well with tail lashing from side to side, black and white coat.
3rd Mason’s T over N.
FLAT COAT RETRIEVERS
PUPPY (1, 1 abs)
JUNIOR (4, 1 abs)
1st Dunnett’s Hoedun The Night Before.
Well coated 15 month old bitch who was enthusiastic and wagged the whole time she was in the ring. Balanced outline with good angulation fore and aft, well laid shoulders and correct turn of stifle, adequate width of chest, good bone and neat feet. Kind and intelligent expression showing an obvious will to please. Unfortunately had a tendency to pace today.
2nd Menzies’ Flatcharm Gorgeous George over Bunnystocks.
Masculine head with kind expression, good length of neck, firm top line, scored well on body properties, well sprung ribs, plenty of depth to body. Strong quality bone. Well schooled and atttentive to his gentle handler. Preferred the more positive front and the wider thigh of 1st, but at 14 months there is plenty of time for these to improve.
3rd Butler’s Ravensfort Rising Tide at Sootspren.
LIMIT (5, 1 abs)
1st Wilson’s Hameldowntor Pedro Ximenez. BOB.
Powerful male in the peak of condition, well muscled all through and moved with drive from behind and reach in front. Balanced outline, clean neck, firm top line, impressive lay back of shoulder, well turned stifles, good width across thighs, hocks low to the ground. Deep through brisket and a decent width between forelegs, straight and true coming towards and going away. Ideal spring of rib and length of rib cage, loved his head and kindly expression, attentive handler made it easy to see his attributes. Feet not his fortune, but could not be denied his 1st place and BOB.
2nd Dunnett’s Hoedun Miss Atomic Bomb.
Liked the make and shape of this well presented bitch. Nicely made with everything flowing together well. Feminine head with fairly broad skull, long muzzle, warm and affectionate expression. Shoulders at correct angle, deep chest, straight legs, good bone, ideal width between hind legs, neat feet. Let herself down on the move today, didn’t have the same reach or drive as 1st. Sympathetically handled.
3rd Menzies’ Candidacsa True Feeling over Bunnystocks.
OPEN (4, 1 abs)
1st Wilson’s Hameldowntor Music Of The Night (imp FRA). RBOB.
Balanced outline and pleasing angles fore and aft. Attractive head, intelligent expression, small neat ears. Straight front, deep chest, tight feet with good cushioning. Well sprung ribs with good length to ribcage, short loin, sound hind quarters, enough turn of stifle, impressive muscle tone and pleasing width across thighs. Dense well presented coat, expertly handled.
2nd Holliday & Pescy’s Floki Super Trouper of Shashkrox.
Lots to like about this black coated bitch. Classic head with moderately broad skull, slight stop, long muzzle and small ears. Good layback of shoulder and return of upper arm, pleasing deep body, well sprung ribs, short couplings, moved well, well handled. I felt losing a few pounds would enhance her further.
3rd Dunnett’s Hoedun Alexandra of Denmark.
COCKER SPANIELS
PUPPY (6, 2 abs)
1st Rushforth’s Plaiglen Daiquiri. BP. PG4.
I really fell for this orange roan male. Balanced from every angle, stood foursquare and had excellent ring presence. Was very well handled and beautifully presented. It was a pleasure to go over him, he fitted together very well, and was carrying just the right amount of weight. Appealing masculine head just right for his age, gentle expression, neck set well into impressive front assembly, his hind quarters matched beautifully. Just short of 10 months but already he has a good spring of rib, firm top line and short strong loin. Moved straight and true.
2nd Kotanen’s Queen Of Chaos.
Blue roan bitch nearly 12 months old with the sweetest face and appealing expression, rounded skull and square muzzle. Neck of moderate length, deep through the heart, good spring of rib, very good turn of stifle. Well schooled, expertly handled, moved actively and with typical merry attitude. Just preferred the top line and tail set of 1st.
3rd Collings’ Chativore Sea Pebble at Colmandakey.
JUNIOR (6, 1 abs)
1st Hedgecock’s Mamanova’s Pegaso.
This 13 month old male really took my eye and did enough to win the next class as well. Skillfully presented golden coloured coat, appealing masculine head, endearing expression from kind eye. Lovely outline and good length of neck, deep through brisket, enough width of chest. I was impressed by his very good angulation fore and aft, his depth of body, excellent ribcage both in length and spring. His loin was short and strong, his hind quarters were well muscled. He was a joy to watch on the move, and very well handled.
2nd Kent’s Laurellakes Are You Reddy.
Another promising male, he was just out of Puppy, he behaved beautifully, was handled well and moved with drive. Pleasing head with rounded skull and obvious stop, nice layback of shoulder, positive front, straight legs all round, strength to hindquarters. Slightly narrower all through than 1st, but he has time to mature and fill out.
3rd Brown’s Popebel Limited Edition.
LIMIT (6, 1 abs )
1st Hedgecock’s M Pegaso.
2nd Clarke’s Harbethol Look Magical Tyme JW.
Blue roan male with quality masculine head, rounded skull, square muzzle, I loved his bright and kindly expression. Straight front, good bone, firm feet. Ribbed well back and good spring to ribcage, but carrying slightly too much weight today. Movement not quite as positive going away, but covered the ground well in profile.
3rd Kent’s L Are You Reddy.
OPEN (6, 2 abs)
1st Kotanen’s Fin Ch Triplet Queen Of Queens (imp FIN). BOB. G3.
What a wonderful Cocker, and a real showgirl! Blue roan coat in excellent condition, moved with impressive reach and drive, was straight and true coming towards and going away. Clean cut outline, good length of neck and balanced angulation fore and aft. Straight legs all round, neat feet. Good length and shape to ribcage, short strong loin, well muscled hind quarters. Feminine head with quality chiselling, kind eye showing intelligence, very well handled.
2nd Remington’s Rozamie Black Pearl Jessremjul. RBOB.
Black coated bitch who was a pleasure to go over. She was well made, everything fitting together well and flowing. Impressive shoulder angulation and matching stifles, slightly longer in body than 1st but a strong top line and good spring of rib. Well shaped head, although I would have preferred a slightly darker eye.
3rd Keely’s Sh Ch Oakbeach Dare To Dream Big with Alhambian (imp SWE).
WEIMARANER
LIMIT (2, 0 abs)
1st Jennings’ Wallaroo Romeo JW. BOB.
Won here on balanced outline, fit and muscular condition, powerful ground covering movement. Appealing shape of head, kind expression, moderate length of neck. Soundly constructed front with well laid shoulders and good return of upper arm which placed legs well under body, obvious breastbone. Straight legs, quality bone, well arched toes, compact feet. Well ribbed back, strong loin. Carried his tail a bit too high on the move today.
2nd Golbourn’s Kallasilya Swan River Daisy.
Feminine and attractive head, keen expression, long ears correctly set high, deep through brisket, good width of chest, straight front, strong bone, good spring of rib, slight tuck up. Was not settled today, was distracted and not concentrating on her job in the ring, was difficult to see her stride because she galloped a lot of the time. If handler could practice getting her attention I am sure this would enhance her performance.
