The Banbury and District Canine Association Open Show

May 6th 2024.

First of all thank you to my steward Dyllis for stewarding and to Christine and

her committee for the opportunity to judge at this long established and well

run show. I first exhibited here in the 1980s and it was a pleasure to ‘payback’.

Thank you all for your entries, it was much appreciated.

BEAGLES. A favourite breed of mine.

Puppy ( 2 entries, 2 absent.)

Junior ( 3 entries, 2 absent.)

1st Davis Lilleagle Chivas Whisky. 8 month old bitch who is well grown and in

good condition for a puppy, the time will come for her to become more toned

and a bit trimmer. She has a pleasant expression and well proportioned head

with good length to her leathers. I would prefer slightly more neck but she is

well built with balanced angles fore and aft with powerful hindquarters and a

good turn of stifle. Moved well enough. Have fun training and showing her.

1st.Langman Madika High Flyer at Bonwillan. 2 year old elegant bitch with lots

to like about her. Pretty head and bright expression with well set ears of good

length. Compact, well balanced body properties. Good feet and pasterns,

well turned stifles and well set tail of good length and carriage. Shown in good

fit condition. Moved with purpose. Best of Breed.

1st. Corless Swiftlark Illustrious JW. Aclose decision between these two. I

liked the balance of this exhibit. Head of good proportion with kindly

expression. Good angles fore and aftcoupled with good depth and width.

Exhibit was in good condition and coat. Moved well with purpose.

2nd. Fox Kerryfair Heart to Heart. Pretty headed exhibit and many of the same

comments apply. Just prefered the shoulders and croup of first. Strode out

well.

1st. Corless Swiftlark Spellbinder. Attractive masculine head of good

proportions with kind expression. Good length of neck which came out of his

shoulders cleanly with a slight arch. Good depth, bone and well shaped feet.

Good length of rib carried well back. Well angled strong hindquarters which

allowed him to drive round the ring with purpose. In good coat and condition.

Best of Breed.

2nd. Foster Goldnavarm Endurance at Shanoah. Nit picking between the two

exhibits. Attactive head. Not quite the cleaness out of the shoulder into neck

as the first. Good bone and feet. Balanced angles and strong hindquarters.

Moved well but felt first had more drive today. A little keen of his tail.

AVNSC.

Puppy. ( 4 entries, 2 absent )

1st. Pebbles. Seasham Too Much Heaven. 7 month old GSP bitch who I found

to be a very smart, neat and tidy package who was shown to advantage. Pretty

head with alert expression and well set ears. Good length to strong slightly

arched neck with tight skin. Nicely angled fore and aft with slight slope to

pasterns. Compact feet, well bent stifles with well muscles hindquarters

which allowed her to power around the ring on a smooth stride. Put down in

super condition. Best AVNSC puppy. Puppy Group 1.

2nd. Parackova. Agemera Dotty. 8 month old Spanish Water Dog. This girl was

a real baby who did well to hold it together as she found it a bit much but she

was sympathetically handled to help her cope. Good head of balanced

proportions. Nice v shaped ears well set on. Nice short neck leading to well

angled front with good bone. Nice level topline, deep body with good ratio

between body and leg length. Nicely angled, well muscled hindquarters which

allowed her to move powerfully. Well curled coat.

1st. Ward. Glenbrows Flame for Tantaraviz. 13 month old WSS bitch in good

condition. Good head with kind expression. Long clean neck leading into

sloping shoulders. Compact body of good depth for age leading to correct

moderately angled hindquarters. Moved well although a little keen of her tail

2nd. Drozdova. Mallik Team Del Crepo ( imp. Sirb) NAF. 11 month old Brittany.

Well built cobby young dog. Typical well proportioned head with good open

nostrils. Clean neck into muscular shoulders. Short backed with strong loin

and well muscled quarters. Shown in good condition.

3rd. Dummett and Vikhrova. Nova Story Boogie Woogie ( imp Mne ) American

Cocker.

Post Graduate. ( 2 entries.)

1st. Stevenson. Mymmbrook Matador with Blythway JW. Mature 3 year old

male WSS. Nice masculine head with well developed nostrils and well set on

ears. Clean long neck into correctly angled front. Deep brisket and well

sprung ribs. Good width to muscled hindquarters which allowed him to move

with purpose. Shown in good coat and condition.

2nd. Luczynski. Fabelsfee Nothing But Fun for Kanara ( imp FIN) 4 year old

American Cocker Spaniel bitch. Pretty head with well developed stop. Good

length to ears. Balanced angles fore and aft with short body. Could have

moved with more energy.

1st. Merritt. Sperant Chocolate Cosmos JW. 2 year old GSP bitch who is nicely

balanced all through. Feminine head of good proportions. Nice neck into

sloping shoulders with good length of upper arm. Deep body with well sprung

ribs leading to good width of hindquarters with well bent stifles. Good hard

coat. Moved well.

1st. Ward. Sh Ch Danton Obsession with Tantaraviz Sh CEx 4 year old

Hungarian Vizsla bitch who caught my eyefor her balance and femininity.

Classically shaped feminine head with moderate stop and warm expression.

Good shape to ears that are well set on. Nicely muscled arched neck which

leads into sloping shoulders. Nice level back with good body to leg ratio

allowing for the required depth. Well muscled and moderately angled

hindquarters. Flows from nose to tail. Well handled to advantage and moved

out with purpose. Best AVNSC and Group 1.

2nd. Luczynski. Baladeva scarlet letters for Kanara ShCM ShCEx. 8 year old

American Cocker bitch with a classically chiselled and pretty head.

Intelligent, soft and very appealling expression. Good angles with correct

bone. Good deep chest with short body and coupling. Well angulated stifles.

In good condition and coat. Moved out well with great style.

3rd. Williams and Drozdova. Sh Ch Bonapartist Peaky Blinder avec Aukskara.

AV Imported Breed Register.

1st.Stilgoe. Teisgol Henrique.Portugese Pointer. 3 year old strongly made, but

not course, male. Masculine head with broad skull and well defined stop. Well

shaped and set on ears. Alert expression. Arched neck into well laid shoulders

with good length of upper arm. Well boned with slightly sloping pasterns into

well padded oval feet. Strong back with muscular loin into broad and well

muscled quarters with well bent stifles. Shown in super condition and moved

out well. Best AV Import.

2nd. West. Sheigra Super Special JW. 7 year old quality Cocker Spaniel bitch.

Neat, pretty bitch carrying her years lightly. Shown in good condition. Well

built and moved with drive and animation. Unlucky to meet 1st.

moved with accuracy.

Group 4. Hammond. Merimoor in a Moment.( Golden Retriever.) Lovely

shaped youngster.
